VOD 06/16/12: You Do Not Have To Regret.

Verse:

Philippians 3:13-14
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. (KJV)

Thought:

The past is the past and it is what it is. Like the word that has been spoken, there is nothing anyone can do to change it. The art of living with the past is to live each day as you would wish for it to be remembered. A person who does things that count usually does not stop to count them. Live your life as the Christ Jesus did and continue on your course of obtaining our Lord’s approval. Do this and you won’t have to regret what you have done in the past and will have a brighter, more positive outlook for the future.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit make us more aware of what we say and our every deed as we go about our daily activities,. May we live each day as if there is no tomorrow and with no regrets of yesterday. Let us strive to show, in all that we do and say, our love and respect for You. May we always be a living example of Your Word by doing Your will.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

Good morning to one and all. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours for a safe and wonder-filled day.

May God Bless,
Michael

VOD 06/15/12: Donít Worry About Your Status.

Verse:

Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (KJV)

Thought:

Your earthly rank or title has little meaning if you are not right with the Father. Who do you think will rate more favor with Him: the ungodly CEO, who only wants others to serve him/her, or the godly janitor, who finds satisfaction in the service of others? One would do well to remember the words of 1 Samuel 2:7 The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up. Be satisfied with who and what you are and not who, or what, you think others feel you should be.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit teach us how to be satisfied with who we are in this life. Let us be content with whatever station in life You see fit to place us. Let us not be envious of others or their perceived status. Give us the contentment of knowing that to serve others and spreading Your word is the greatest position of all.
We lift this prayer up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ...Amen.

VOD 06/14/12: Fear Not For He Is With You.

VOD 06/14/12: Fear Not For He Is With You.

Verse:

Isaiah 41:13
For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. (KJV)

Thought:

Earthly fears are no fears at all. Answer the big question of eternity and the little questions of life fall into perspective. Remember, the disciples were ordinary men given an extraordinary task. They were your friend next door trying to make a living and provide for their families. But they were more devoted than they were afraid and, as a result, did some compelling things. They believed that our God is true and faithful and would not forsake them as they continued to serve Him and do His will.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank you for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit give us the faith and assurance that You will be there for us in our times of need. Let Your words of hope give us courage for today. You are with us now as You will be throughout all eternity. Remove our fears and replace them with the confidence that all things are possible as long as we trust in You.
We lift this prayer up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ...Amen.

VOD 06/13/12: If Itís Worth DoingÖDo It.

Verse:

2 Corinthians 8:11
Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have. (KJV)

Thought:

‘There is no job, today, that cannot be better started tomorrow.’ So said Buddy Ebsen’s bum character on the old Andy Griffith Show. Oh, how many have fallen prey to that logic! You can not win, at anything, if at first you don’t begin. Procrastination is not one of the more desired qualities a person needs to acquire. In some instances, delaying an action can compound a situation and prove to be painfully disastrous  If it’s worth doing, then by all means do it and stop talking about doing it.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit fill us with the resolve and determination to have our day be as productive as possible. Let us not put off until tomorrow what can be done today. May our work ethic be an inspiration to others to follow and let all that we do and say reflect Your will and the teachings of our Lord and Savior in our lives.
We lift our prayers up to you in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 06/12/12: Let Us Live As We Teach.

Verse:

Matthew 23:3
All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. (KJV)

Thought:

From this scripture arises the old adage, ‘Actions speak louder than words’ and one of our parents’ favorite admonishments, ‘Do as I say and not as I do’. A person’s character is perceived by not so much as to what they say but rather by what others observe them doing. This is especially true when it comes to children. Jesus’ words would not have held much meaning if He had not lived as He had taught others. We must be careful to live as though He is watching our every move, because He is.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit make us more aware of our actions reflecting our speech. Thank You for sending Your Son to show us how we should be a people of our word by living according to Your Word. Let our actions reflect the teachings of Jesus in all we say and do. May our conduct be in praise of Your grace and glory.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 06/11/12: Be Of Good Cheer. He Won!

Verse:

John 16:33
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. (KJV)

Thought:

When Jesus came into this world, He came to not only spread the good word of God’s will but to also conquer death so that we may have everlasting life. He came to do what no man could do; take our place as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, thus absolving our need for personal sacrifice. Even though we must still go through trials and tribulations, He has paid the price for our redemption. He faced death and all that Satan could throw at Him, stayed faithful and true, and came out victorious.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have the Holy Spirit remind us constantly to live our lives as You would wish for us to live. Thank You for loving us enough to send Your Son to pay for our sins. Our Lord Jesus, we thank You for loving us enough to offer Your life so that we may live. May we stand as faithful testimonies to your love and sacrifice.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 06/10/12: To Have Faith Is To Live.

Verse:

2 Corinthians 5:6-8
Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. (KJV)

Thought:

Having faith means to challenge our soul to venture past what the eyes can behold. It means to believe that our almighty God exists and that His Son died in the cross  for our sins so we may have everlasting life. It is to know in your heart that Jesus was resurrected from the dead in order to conquer death. It means to know that our life here on Earth is only temporary and that when we leave these bodies, we’ll be in the presence of our LORD. Faith is our assurance that we will live forever.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit help us to stay strong in our faith that You and Your Son will be waiting with open arms when we pass from this life to the next. While here in these mortal bodies, let us always live by the teachings expressed in Your Word and do our best to follow in Jesus’ footsteps and live according to Your will.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 06/07/12: Make Yours Time Well Spent.

Verse:

Ecclesiastes 9:10
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. (KJV)

Thought:

What is more important is not how many hours of work you put in, but how much work you put in the hours. You have to admit it. There have been days when we have put more work into two hours than we have all day at other times. Time is a commodity that once passed, is irrecoverable, never to be at our disposal again. Wouldn’t you much rather be remembered for what you did than what you did not do? Make every minute be productive and the hours will take care of themselves.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit instill in us the work ethic that You have taught us as we go about our daily lives. Let our hands not be slack while performing our daily tasks. May our times of rest be better occupied with the study and devotion of Your Word and may our lives be as productive and inspiring as You have intended.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.
