VOD 06/06/12: Time Will Show Who You Are.

Verse:

Job 27:6
My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live. (KJV)

Thought:

It only takes a moment to build a reputation but it takes a lifetime to build character. You can do one thing that stands out, good or bad, and all of a sudden you have a label that sticks with you for quite some time. But for people to really see you for who you are takes time, like building trust. Rome was not built in a day and the same applies to building one’s character and reputation. Stay strong in God’s Word and eventually others will come to know you and to appreciate who you are.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit guide us through life and continually remind us to pay attention to our conduct so as to leave a favorable impression on others. Have us adopt the character of our Lord Jesus and hold fast to His teachings. May our conduct be a testimony of our faith and inspire others to follow in His footsteps.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

Good morning to one and all. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours for a safe and wonder-filled day.

May God Bless,
Michael

VOD 02/08/10: Donít Add Fuel To The Fire.

Verse:

Proverbs 17:14
The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with. (KJV)

Thought:

It isn’t difficult at all to make a mountain out of a molehill. All you have to do is add a little dirt. How many times have you seen a little disagreement escalate into a full blown argument because neither party involved would take the initiative and put a stop to it? Nothing is accomplished with harsh words. It can only escalate into a verbal exchange that is sure to not accomplish anything accept to cause conflict. Agree to disagree, move on to something more productive, and remain good friends

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord,  have Your Holy Spirit give us the fortitude to hold our tongue and not add fuel to the fire if we find ourselves in disagreement with another. Allow us to see an alternative way out of the discussion and put to practice the patience and tactfulness that Jesus used when confronted by those who wished to argue.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 06/04/12: A Better Father Cannot Be Found.

Verse:

James 1:16-17
Do not err, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. (KJV)

Thought:

A father is someone in your life that provides for your needs, protects you from harm, and gives you instruction on how to live a meaningful life. God has done exactly that and has proven Himself to be deserving of the title ‘Father’. Actually, He didn’t have to prove anything. He chose to create mankind and to offer us eternal life. He offers instruction on how to live our lives with meaning and in relative peace with those around us.  All we have to do is return His love and become His children.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit open our hearts and minds to Your Word on how to live. Thank You for all You have given us and for all You have done for us. Through Your love, kindness, and mercy You have shown how much You care for us. May we be found worthy of Your sacrifice by living as You have taught us to live.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 06/03/12: What Is The Value Of Your Life?

Verse:

Matthew 6:24
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. (KJV)

Thought:

There are times in everyone’s life when they have to decide what’s the most important, the value of money or the value of character. At what point is the decision made to draw the line between financial gain and loss of integrity? Far too many people place the value of the material gain over the cost of spiritual improvement. God spells it out quite plainly fur us. You can either fall from grace by worshiping the almighty dollar or you can be raised to righteousness by worshiping the Almighty.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit help us to make the right decisions when it comes to earning a living and learning to live. Have our choices be influenced by our love for You and Your Word. Let us never lose sight of the ultimate prosperity we will enjoy when Jesus comes to take us home to Your glorious kingdom of the future.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 06/02/12: He Is Not Asking For The Impossible

Verse:

Romans 12:1
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. (KJV)

Thought:

Look at these words again very carefully, ‘which is your reasonable service’. God is not asking anyone to do the impossible to be found worthy in His eyes. All He is asking for is people to conduct themselves in such a manner as to improve their relationships with others and to lead a more fruitful, healthy life, and to give Him the respect that is His due. He knows people’s abilities, limitations, and what their potential is. He will never ask anyone to do anything that they are not capable of doing.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit live within us and show us what me must do in order to be acceptable to You. Let all we do reflect Your will for mankind. Allow us to see the blessings that You bestow upon us for following in the footsteps of our Lord Jesus. May we never forget to give You all the praise and glory You deserve.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 06/01/12: Do Not Fear Pressure.

Verse:

Job 1:20-22
Then Job arose…and worshipped, And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD. In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. (KJV)

Thought:

Pressure? Job lost everything. He lost his land and possessions and all of his children were struck down. Yet, through all of his misfortunes, he did not relent to the pressure from his wife and friends to turn against God. His faith and love for his LORD outweighed all that Satan could throw at him. This is an excellent example of how we should not let our minor set-backs come between us and our Father. Do not fear pressure. Ever remember, it takes pressure to turn a lump of coal into a diamond.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit give us the strength and wisdom needed to overcome any pitfalls that occur in our life. Let us not be troubled by our petty problems. Let us always exhibit the faith, love, patience, and perseverance of Job in our daily struggle of life here on Earth. May we always be living examples of Your fortitude.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 05/31/12: Do You Have Faith In Him?

Verse:

Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. (KJV)

Thought:

Most times when people pray and ask of the Father, He appears silent to them because they are listening for the wrong answers. They are listening for answers to their earthly problems while He is busy resolving their heavenly ones. Seek God and His kingdom first, with diligence, and all else will be given to you. He knows your heart and your intentions. Have faith that He has your best interests at heart in everything He does. Stay strong and sincere in your search and He will reward your faith.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, send Your Holy Spirit to abide in us and help us fulfill Your will and show us how to be found worthy to enter Your kingdom. Teach us how to accept Your mercy and kindness so that our lives will be enriched. Show us how to extend those qualities to others so that their lives, too, may be graced by Your blessings.
We lift this prayer up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 05/30/12: If You Have To Criticize, Be Nice.

Verse:

Ephesians 4:29
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. (KJV)

Thought:

In the course of our lifetime, we are presented with times where we have to correct another’s behavior. This is especially true with children. We should be careful when we admonish others. We must always remember to use constructive criticism; correction meant to improve, not to debase the spirit. Jesus was critical of humanity, but He also taught us how to become a better people. The use of this criteria insures the improvement of individual performances and the bonding of relationships.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit fill us with wisdom so that we may better communicate with others. Let our words not be harsh, but tempered with instruction. Have us follow Jesus’ example by teaching more than criticizing. Let us always exhibit Your will in our interactions with others in order to improve our personal relationships.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.
