NFL Week 14 Picks

Not a stellar week for me last week as I went 8-8 ATS.  More importantly, my online NFL picks show, The Mole & Meares Show, caught the eye of Showtime's Inside the NFL and is going to be featured as a segment next week, December 22nd at 9 pm on Showtime.  You can check out our most recent show at www.moleandmeares.com where Susannah from Showtime appears as a guest at around the 5 minute mark.  Okay, enough self promotion, lets get on with the picks, here we go...

Record to date (60-50-3)

Indianapolis at Tennessee (+3.5) - Indianapolis Colts - Peyton Manning has thrown 11 interceptions in the last 3 games and 4 for touchdowns in the last 2 games.  That is not the Peyton Manning we are used to seeing.  This week he has a favorable matchup against the reeling Titans.  The Colts should win this game comfortably because of the turmoil going on in Tennessee, remember they were shutout by the Texans who have one of the worst defenses in the league.

Cleveland at Buffalo (pick em) - Cleveland Browns - This game features two teams that I believe will have a legitimate chance to make the playoffs...next year.   The Browns are playing better all around football than the Bills and Peyton Hillis will have a huge game this week.  I will take the Browns.

New England at Chicago (+3) - New England Patriots - Game of the week.  The Bears have a chance to prove that they belong among the elite teams in the NFL, a place the Patriots are already in.  Unfortunately for the Bears, I don't think they have much of a chance.  I will give the 3 points on the road and take the Patriots and feel very confident.

Tampa Bay at Washington (+2) - Washington Redskins - This line seems awfully small for a Buccaneers team that has shown they can play with anyone in the NFC.  With that said, Vegas usually knows what they are talking about and I think the Redskins are poised to win a game now that the cancer of Haynesworth is no longer lingering in the locker room.  I will take the points and take the Redskins.

Atlanta at Carolina (+7.5) - Atlanta Falcons - I am hesitant to give up more than a touchdown in this game because I feel like it could be a trap game for the Falcons.  The Panthers are running the ball better and the Falcons have had some close games recently that could be taking their tool on their confidence.  If they are looking ahead to their match up with the Saints they could end up fighting to the end.  With that said I will still give the points and take the Falcons on the road.

Oakland at Jacksonville (-4) - Jacksonville Jaguars - I have yet to buy into either one of these teams but the Jaguars are leading their division and this is a must win road game for the Raiders.  Comparing these two teams, they both play the same game, pound the ball down their opponents throats and play stingy defense.  I like Garrard over Jason Campbell so I will give the points and take the Jags.

Green Bay at Detroit (+6.5) - Green Bay Packers - Detroit has been playing almost every opponent tough this year and have been covering a lot of spreads.  With that said I think the Packers are one of the most dangerous teams left in the NFC and they will take care of business in Detroit.  Look for Aaron Rodgers to have a big day against the weak Detroit secondary.  I will give the points and take the Packers on the road.

NY Giants at Minnesota (+1) - NY Giants - This should be a very interesting game with the quarterback situation in Minnesota.  If Farve starts will he be effective?  If Tavaris Jackson starts with the Giants D eat him alive?  Either way, the Giants need a victory to keep pace in the NFC east and they will be ready to play.  I will give the one point and take the Giants on the road.

Cincinnati at Pittsburgh (-8.5) - Cincinnati Bengals - Pittsburgh won a huge game this past week against the Ravens and now they face the lowly Bengals.  The Steelers seem to have played to their competition this year and I am not willing to give up 8 and half points to a team they lost to twice last season.  I think the Bengals keep this close and cover the spread.

St. Louis at New Orleans (-9.5) - St. Louis Rams - The Saints are another team that seems to be playing to the level of their competition and the Rams are a much improved team.  Sam Bradford seems poised to win the Rookie of the Year award in a runaway and I think he will play well in the dome at New Orleans.  I will take the points and take St. Louis.

Seattle at San Francisco (-5.5) - Seattle Seahawks - This line is sort of baffling to me.  The 49ers have a huge issue at quarterback and have decided to go back to Alex Smith this week.  As bad as the Seahawks have been on the road they need to win this game to keep pace in the NFC west and I think they will win this game outright so I have no problem taking the points.

Miami at NY Jets (-5.5) - NY Jets - The Jets are coming off of an embarrassing loss to the Patriots last week and this team has too much pride to allow themselves to play two bad games in a row.  People are questioning how good the Jets really are and I think they will prove this week they are still contenders in the AFC.  I will give the points and take the Jets at home.

Denver at Arizona (+5.5) - Denver Broncos - If the trend continues, when a team fires their coach they tend to play with more passion and more enthusiasm (see Cowboys and Vikings).  The Cardinals are just not a good team this year and the decision to allow Leinart to leave has seemed to have backfired.  I will give the points and take the Broncos on the road.

Kansas City at San Diego (-6.5) - Kansas City Chiefs - The Chiefs have a chance to sweep the season series against the Chargers and at the same time eliminate the Chargers from the division race.  The Chargers are really hampered by injuries and Kansas City has a really good rushing attack.  I like the Chiefs to win this game outright so I will take the points and take the Chiefs on the road.

Philadelphia at Dallas (+3.5) - Philadelphia Eagles - The last two times this time faced each other, Dallas beat the Eagles and eliminated them from the playoffs.  The Cowboys have been playing much better since Garrett took over the head coaching duties.  The Eagles will take advantage of their speed against a Dallas defense that hasn't been really good this year and I will give the points and take the Eagles.

Baltimore at Houston (+3) - Baltimore Ravens - The Ravens are coming off a very tough loss against the Steelers.  The Texans have had a couple of extra days to rest before this game but I still think Baltimore is going to be too much for the Texans to handle.  I will give the points on the road again and take the Ravens.

NFL Power Rankings - Week 14

*UPDATE* THE MOLE & MEARES SHOW WILL BE APPEARING ON INSIDE THE NFL ON SHOWTIME ON DECEMBER 22ND, 2010!!!!

Read my rankings below and make sure to visit us at www.moleandmeares.com to see our most recent video with a special appearance from Sussanah Collins from Showtime as we get ready to appear on Inside the NFL next week!!!!

After 13 weeks in the NFL the top teams are starting to separate themselves from the rest of the league.  The Sunday and Monday night games were two of the best games of the year and caused one of our top 5 teams from last week to fall completely out of our top 10.  Both teams who won the two premier games jumped up in our rankings and we have two new additions to our top 5 this week.  There are only a few good games in week 14 setting up a huge week of games the following week.  I would be surprised to see any major movements after next Monday but you never know. Here we go...

1.  New England Patriots (10-2) - Wow...the Patriots embarrassed the Jets on Monday night football.  Tom Brady is now the front runner for the MVP after throwing for over 300 yards and 4 touchdowns.  The Jets had a chance to answer critics who claimed they had an inflated 9-3 record and they failed miserably.  Since week 2 the Jets have only beaten one team with a winning record and last night it showed.  The Patriots defense played really well causing 3 turnovers and holding the Jets to 3 points.  The Patriots travel to Soldier Field on Sunday to face the Bears who are also trying to prove their record isn't inflated but if last nights game is any indication, it isn't going to end well for Chicago.

2.  Atlanta Falcons (10-2) - The Falcons found a way to win on Sunday against the Buccaneers even though they didn't play their best football of the year.  For the first time this season Matt Ryan through mulitple interceptions but the Falcons were still able to overcome the mistakes and pull out a late game comeback for a nice divisional win.  The Falcons have perhaps the easiest schedule left among the elite teams in the NFL as they will face the Caronlina Panthers twice in their last 4 games with the first meeting coming this Sunday in Carolina.  Barring a huge upset, the Falcons should be in the drivers seat for the best record in the NFC.

3.  Pittsburgh Steelers (9-3) - As a fan, two of the best games of the year are when the Steelers play the Ravens.  These games are without a doubt, the most physical games of the year.  On Sunday, Pittsburgh got the better of the Ravens, with Troy Polamalu causing a late turnover when he knocked the ball out of Joe Flacco's hands deep in Raven's territory.  The Steelers went on to score their only touchdown of the game and take a one game lead over the Ravens in the AFC north.  This week they welcome in the hapless Bengals into Heinz Field.  The Bengals have given the Steelers fits over the last couple of seasons so this game is no gimmee although I am hard pressed to think the Bengals have a chance.

4.  New Orleans Saints (9-3) - The Saints have quietly won 5 games a row and are only one game behind the Falcons in the NFC south.  I say quietly but some may say they have gotten lucky recently.  If Roy Williams falls down they lose to the Cowboys on Thanksgiving and if the Bengals had any discipline on defense Sunday's game could have ended differently.  Drew Brees got Pat Sims of the Bengals defensive line to jump offsides late in the fourth quarter on fourth down which resulted in a first down and the eventual game winning touchdown.  The Saints will welcome the upstart St. Louis Rams into the Superdome on Sunday.  The Saints need to be focused on the Rams and not looking ahead to their week 15 matchup with the Falcons because the Rams are fighting for their division crown.

5.  Baltimore Ravens (8-4) -  The Ravens suffered a tough loss to the Steelers on Sunday night.  They seemed in control for 55 minutes of the game only to fall short after a late game turnover.  I have a feeling these two teams will see each other again in January.  With that said the Ravens now have to turn their focus to Monday night as they will travel to Houston to face the struggling Texans who are coming off a mini bye week after playing last Thursday night.  I believe the Ravens will right the ship and get back on track with a road victory at Houston and I can only hope for that Ravens/Steelers matchup in January.

Honorable Mentions:  Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants

NFL Week 13 Picks

So I didn't put my picks up last week due to the Thanksgiving holiday, for week 11 I went 9-6-1, which is respectable.  I am feeling very confident this week as the games seem to be slightly easier then in weeks past.  With that said I am sure I will go under .500 this week.  Here we go...

Record to date (52-42-3)

Houston at Philadelphia (-9) - Houston Texans - The Eagles are coming off a very difficult loss and are on short rest against the visiting Texans.  I believe the Eagles will win this game but 9 points is a bit too much for my liking so I will take the Texans with the points.

Jacksonville at Tennessee (no line) - Jacksonville Jaguars - Not sure why there is no line for this game but even if there was I would still take Jacksonville whether they were favorited or not.  Tennessee is in a world of hurt right now with a rookie quarterback who looks like a rookie quarterback leading their team.  Should be an easy win for the Jaguars.

Denver at Kansas City (-9) - Kansas City Chiefs - Although this is a pretty large line, I really like the way Kansas City is playing and the Broncos have not been putting up a fight lately.  I think the Chiefs will take care of business and easily cover the 9.

Washington at New York Giants (-7) - Washington Redskins - Seven points is a lot to give up in a heated divisional rivalry game so I will take the points and the Redskins.  They lost a tough game to the Vikings last week but I still think they can compete and will keep the game close.

Chicago at Detroit (+3.5) - Detroit Lions - I think the Bears are poised for a letdown game this week and Detroit has played almost all of its opponents tough this year.  I like the Lions straight up this game so I will definitely take the 3 and half points and take the Lions.

Atlanta at Tampa Bay (+3) - Atlanta Falcons - I can almost say the same thing about the Falcons as I did about the Bears, this could be a letdown game for them.  I also believe that the Falcons are a much more complete team than the Bears and they will not allow the Buccaneers to be overlooked.  I will give the 3 and take the Falcons.

New Orleans at Cincinnati (+7) - New Orleans Saints - This line seems way too low to me.  The Bengals season is over and they have looked absolutely terrible at times this season.  The Saints are playing the best football they have played all year.  If they were giving 14 I would still take the Saints.

Buffalo at Minnesota (-6) - Buffalo Bills - The Bills are the best one win team in the history of the NFL through 12 weeks.  This game will be close and could go either way.  With that said I will take the points and the Bills all day long.

Cleveland at Miami (-4.5) - Cleveland Browns - I have been riding the Browns for over a month now and I they haven't been proving me right.  I am going to ride them for one more week.  I think they can win this game against the Dolphins because Miami is not very good against the run.  Give me the 4 and a half points and I will take the Browns.

San Francisco at Green Bay (-10) - Green Bay Packers - San Francisco is one of those teams that I cannot get a read on this year.  Green Bay is coming off a brutal last minute loss to the Falcons and they will be ready for the 49ers.  I think this game could get out of hand fast so I will give the 10 and take the Packers.

Oakland at San Diego (-13) - San Diego Chargers - The fact that this is the biggest line of the week really surprises me.  I know San Diego is playing well but 13 points in a pivotal division showdown seems like a lot.  With that said I think San Diego is playing that good right now and I will give up the 13 and take the Chargers.

St. Louis at Arizona (+3.5) - St. Louis Rams - Arizona is a really bad team right now having lost 6 games in a row.  St. Louis has a real shot at winning the NFC West and I think they will be ready for this game and will take care of business.  I will give the 3 and a half and take the Rams.

Dallas at Indianapolis (-5.5) - Dallas Cowboys - This is my upset pick of the week.  Dallas is coming off an extra few days of rest and a loss against the Saints.  I think they will play the Colts close and could pull out a win against an extremely depleted Indianapolis team.  I will take the 5 and a half points and take the Cowboys.

Carolina at Seattle (-6) - Seattle Seahawks - To be honest, I have no idea who to take in this game.  The Panthers showed some signs of life last week and the Seahawks are the most up and down team in the NFL.  I will give the points and take Seattle only because they are at home.

Pittsburgh at Baltimore (even) - Baltimore Ravens - Game of the week #1, I like the way the Ravens are playing right now, their defense has been steady and improved.  On the other hand, Pittsburgh has been struggling lately even though they have been winning.  It is very hard to beat a team in your division twice in a season but I am going to go out on a limb and take the Ravens.

New York Jets at New England (-3.5) - New York Jets - Game of the week #2.  This is the biggest game of the week and should allow the winner to get home field advantage in the AFC playoffs.  New England's defense has been too inconsistent this year for me to be willing to give up 3 and a half points so I will take the Jets and enjoy watching this Monday night game.

There are my week 13 picks ATS.  Check back next week to see how I did.

NFL Week 11 Picks

Is it just me or are these games getting progressively harder to pick?  I barely managed to be above .500 last week with a 7-6 record and this week doesn't seem to be getting any easier.  Lets see if I can improve this week and get my head out of my ass. I am also adding a new feature this week with a quick blurb on each game...here we go...

Record to date (43-36-2)

Chicago at Miami (-1.5) - Miami Dolphins - The line seems to indicate the Bears but I like Thigpen and I think Miami gets it done at home.

Detroit at Dallas (-6.5) - Detroit Lions - Dallas will be the sexy pick this week but Detroit has played everyone tough and close.
Arizona at Kansas City (-8) - Kansas City Chiefs - 8 points is a lot for a weak Chiefs offense to overcome but the Cardinals are that bad on the road.

Green Bay at Minnesota (+3) - Green Bay Packers - This is the lock of the week, the Vikings need a lot more than 3 points at home.
Baltimore at Carolina (+10) - Baltimore Ravens - Carolina is awful and won't score...look for a shutout and an easy cover.

Cleveland at Jacksonville (-1) - Cleveland Browns - The Browns resurgence this year is great to see and it will continue in Jacksonville.

Oakland at Pittsburgh (-7.5) - Pittsburgh Steelers - After last week's loss the Steelers will be playing mad...look for an easy cover against a good Raiders team.

Buffalo at Cincinnati (-5.5) - Buffalo Bills - The Bills are getting no respect after their first win, Cincinnati is not good and 5.5 points is too much to overcome in this one.

Washington at Tennessee (-7) - Washington Redskins - This line is way to one sided, I know the Redskins get embarrassed on Monday night but they will play Tennessee tough.

Houston at N.Y. Jets (-7) - NY Jets - Houston has just imploded since a hot start and the Jets will start playing well, I like them to cover but this isn't my favorite pick of the week.

Atlanta at St. Louis (+3) - Atlanta Falcons - The Falcons are the best team in the NFC right now and although St. Louis is playing well I still really like the Falcons to cover.

Tampa Bay at San Francisco (-3) - San Francisco 49ers - One of the three games that Vegas has as a pick'em (home team usually gets 3 points for being the home team), with that said I think Tampa is the more complete team but traveling across the country never works out well.

Seattle at New Orleans (-12) - New Orleans Saints - 12 points is a lot but New Orleans is coming off of a bye and Seattle has been awful on the road.

Indianapolis at New England (-3) - New England Patriots - Indianapolis is playing with their JV squad and without Peyton Manning they are 2-7, they are awful in Foxboro too, give me the Pats.

N.Y. Giants at Philadelphia (-3) - Philadelphia Eagles - Michael Vick is good, enough said.

Denver at San Diego (-10) - Denver Broncos - 10 points is too much for San Diego to give up, this isn't the same team as past years, I like a cover by the Broncos.

There are my week 11 picks ATS.  Check back next week to see how I did.

NFL Week 9 Recap and Thoughts

There were two games this past weekend that had huge early playoff implications between 4 teams that no one would have expected to 3 of the teams to have a chance at making the playoffs before the season started.  The Chiefs at the Raiders and the Buccaneers at the Falcons were the weekend's two biggest games, that just goes to show you the parody in the NFL from year to year.

1.  In a battle between two divisional rivals, the Raiders prevailed in overtime.  You have to give the Raiders credit for stopping the vaunted Chiefs rushing attack, holding them to 100 yards rushing as a team.  They did just enough to squeak this game out in overtime and now are looking good in the AFC west.

2.  Brett Farve broke a record yesterday, he threw for more yards in a game than he ever had in his career, 446.  In Brett Farve's career, he has only twic thrown for over 400 yards, that is really surprising.  At the same time he lead the Vikings back from 14 points down with less than 5 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to send the game to overtime and then watched as his kicker sealed the deal to complete a victory that allows Childress to remain the Vikings coach for at least one more week.

3.  To quote a famous line, Houston, we have a problem.  After starting the season defeating the Colts for the first time ever and then winning a game in OT against the Redskins, the Texans have fallen flat on their face.  Their defense was an issue early and now has become a glaring problem after 9 weeks.  San Diego wins again and is trying to stay alive in the AFC west.

4.  I am so happy I am not a Detroit Lions fan, I couldn't take the close losses week after week.  It looked as though they had this game in the bag and then they allowed the Jets to score 10 unanswered 4th quarter points to send the game to overtime and then watched as they marched down the field for the winning kick.  Matthew Stafford injured his shoulder again.  He would be a good quarterback if he could find a way to stay healthy.

5.  The Browns might be the best team in the NFL right now, at this very moment.  They sandwiched incredible wins against the Saints and the Patriots around their bye week.  Peyton Hillis continues to impress as he shredded the New Englad defense for over 180 yards on the ground.  I thought the Patriots were beginning to show some improvement on the defensive side of the ball but they took a huge step backwards on Sunday.

6.  The Panthers should forfeit the rest of their games for the season.  There should be a rule in the NFL that if you can't achieve 200 total yards of offense, at home no less, you have to let a college team play for you for the rest of the season. Granted, they lost their first and second string running back and their first string quarterback to injuries but come on, have some pride and move the ball, 68 yards passing isn't going to get it done.

7.  Poor Buffalo, I feel like I start every recap of a Bills game like this every week.  They lose another game by a field goal to a team that is really not very good right now.  Have the Bills ever won a game in Toronto?  If not they should stop playing there because the fans are wondering why the field is only 100 yards long!

8.  Baltimore out played Miami and put an end to their road winning streak.  I thought this game was going to be closer and I thought wrong.  Miami seemed out of sorts the entire game and couldn't muster any points in the second half.  The Ravens are now tied with 15 other teams for the best record in the NFL at 6-2.

9.  I am going to give the Buccaneers a ton of credit for playing a very good game on the road in Atlanta and coming up just short.  This game could have been a blowout after the opening drive when the Falcons methodically marched down the field and scored on their opening possesion.  The Bucs had a chance to steal a win in the waning seconds but came up just a bit short, but this team is definitely for real and will fight for a wild card berth.

10.  Wade Phillips will be fired this week, I guarantee it.  That was one of the most embarrasing games I have ever witnessed since I began watching football.  The Cowboys have completely given up and aren't even trying anymore.  At least Jerry Jones can be happy that the Superbowl will be played in his stadium because that is about the only thing he has going for him right now.

11.  The New York Giants are good, the best team in the NFC right now and they destroyed the Seahawks who can't seem to figure out a way to put two good weeks together.  But if I was a Giants fan I would wait on buying my plane tickets to Dallas for the Superbowl because the only two teams that you have played that have winning records were losses.  The Giants are doing what they are supposed to do, beating the teams that they know they are better than.  It is going to get tougher and it will be interesting to see how this team responds.

12.  Andy Reid is now 12-0 after a bye week as the Eagles coach and now has beaten the Colts for the first time in his career.  I really hope that Austin Collie is okay but with that said, there was no reason for a flag, he wasn't a defensive less receiver when he got hit and it was an incidental helmet to helmet hit.  I am really happy the Eagles won because two calls in this game were the only reason for 14 of the Colts points.

NFL Week 8 Recap and Thoughts

Okay, so last week I was ready to declare the entire NFC less one or two teams dead.  The AFC looked like the dominant conference, far and away.  The one thing I have learned this season is nothing is predictable, both the Steelers and the Jets lose to NFC teams that looked lost going into this week.  This season just gets stranger by the minute...here are my thoughts on week 8...

1.  I am done picking the Dallas Cowboys to win anymore games this season.  They got destroyed by the Jaguars in every facet of the game which I didn't think was even possible.  Kitna threw for 379 yards but also threw 4 interceptions.  Are the Jaguars the worst 4-4 team in the league?

2.  The Bengals season is officially over, you can mark it down right now.  They fell to 2-5 in the powerhouse AFC North and have no chance of making the playoffs.  Carson Palmer has fallen from grace completely, he only completed 17 of 38 passes for 156 yards against the Dolphins at home.  On another note, are the Dolphins the best team in the NFL on the road?  They have beaten the Bills, the Vikings, the Packers and now the Bengals all on the road.  Pretty impressive.

3.  Anyone who knows me knows that I am not a Donovan McNabb fan but to bench him for Rex Grossman with 2 minutes left in a one score game, what is the philosophy behind that?  He was your leading rusher for christ's sake.  The loss of all of the Redskins running backs was the reason they lost this game and they seem to be reeling heading into the bye week.  Should be an interesting two weeks for the Redskins who have had more off the field distractions than any team.

4.  Poor Buffalo, still winless and still playing their hearts out.  They have to be one of the best 0-7 teams in the history of the NFL, although, I am not sure they want that label.  Kansas City finds a way to win but they need to figure how to score some points if they want to compete come January.  When your running back counts for 238 of your 410 total yards, more than 50%, you need to go back to the drawing board and figure out how to spread the ball around.

5.  When did the Packers defense turn into the New York Jets defense?  They recorded the first shut out of the NFL season.  The Jets, coming off of a bye on a five game win streak couldn't get anything going.  If Sanchez has to throw the ball 38 times every game the Jets are going to be in a world of hurt.  If you like defensive football then this was the game for you, three field goals was as much as either team could muster, pitiful.

6.  Did you know there was a game played in London this weekend?  The English cared as much about who won the game as the Americans did.  Troy Smith, playing for the injured Alex Smith, was very productive and played a clean game with no turnovers.  The Broncos have now lost two weeks in a row to the Raiders and now the 49ers, not a good stretch.

7.  The combined offensive yardage in the Rams/Panthers game was 447 yards, that is fairly pathetic.  Give credit to the Rams though, after a horrendous 2009 season they are 4-4 through 8 weeks in 2010 and right in the mix in the awful NFC West.  Sam Bradford looks like the real deal and Steven Jackson is just a beast.

8.  Just when you think San Diego's season is over they pull out a huge win.  How is it that the Chargers start out so slow every year only to begin to play in November?  The Titans had a chance to have a share of first place after 8 weeks of the season but they couldn't stop the Chargers from scoring.  Vince Young gets injured again and if the Titans have to rely on Kerry Collins it will not work out for them.

9.  Who would have thought the biggest shootout of the weekend would have been between the Buccaneers and the Cardinals?  Welcome to the NFL Mr. Blount, he ran for 120 yards and 2 touchdowns and didn't punch any of his opponents in the process, that has to be a win for the Bucs!  The Cardinals QBs combined for 4 interceptions, just another normal Sunday.

10.  The big question of the week was finally answered at Foxboro on Sunday, yes Brett Favre started the game, but no he didn't finish it.  If I have to hear all week about whether or not Favre is going to start this week I am going to go crazy.  Who cares?  The Vikings are 2-5 and look awful.  On the other hand, somehow, the Patriots are the only team in the NFL with only 1 loss...can Brady win another Superbowl?

11.  The Raiders have scored 92 points in their last two games, are you kidding me?  Did they score 92 points all of last season?  Where did this Jason Campbell come from?  He throws for 310 yards and 2 touchdowns with no picks.  This isn't the same guy that played in Washington.  As a Maryland Alumni, it was nice to see Heyward-Bey actually do something in a game in the last 2 years.

12.  I am going to congratulate myself now, I saw this coming, I saw the Saints beating the Steelers and if you watch our weekly video you will see the proof yourself.  The Steelers were begging for a loss and the Saints were embarrassed last week at home.  The most impressive thing about the victory is that the Steelers knew exactly what the Saints were going to do, pass and pass often and they still couldn't stop them.  It will be interesting to see if this is the game that gets the Saints back on track.
