The Mets scratched Jose Reyes from Wednesday's Puerto Rican farewell matchup with the Marlins at Hiram Bithorn Stadium with a stiff lower back, the Newark Star-Ledger 's Andy McCullough reports .
McCullough writes Reyes appeared to injure himself during batting practice.
Angel Pagan is still out of the Mets' lineup. Manager Jerry Manuel told reporters he wanted to see how the switch-hitter looked batting left-handed during batting practice before deciding if Pagan would play Thursday at Washington.
Ruben Tejada will play short for the Mets tonight and Jesus Feliciano is leading off against Florida.
