Well, that may not be accurate. Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo met with Lee's agent, Darek Braunecker, this afternoon at the Swan and Dolphin Resort, NatsInsider.com's Mark Zuckerman writes .
Just as I was writing that, Rizzo confirmed to the Washington Post 's Adam Kilgore that they'd met with Braunecker.
"I still think we're a real long shot," Rizzo told Kilgore (via Twitter ).
The Nationals, like the Yankees, are unwilling to offer seven years, Zuckerman writes.
Also, CBSSports.com senior writer Danny Knobler reports the Nationals have also talked to the Royals about Zack Greinke.

UPDATE : Cliff Lee has two seven-year deals in place for an average annual value of over $20 million as SI.com 's Jon Heyman reports. The teams aren't the Yankees or Rangers as these teams had no plans to go to seven.
