So today, this qualifies as news: Ryan Garko is going to play in Korea, according to Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He was non-tendered by the Rangers after batting .091 in just 15 major-league games. He spent most of the year at Triple-A, batting .235.
The 29-year-old first baseman was a third-round draft pick out of Stanford in 2003, and he had a promising start, batting a combined .281/.352/.443 as a regular starter with the Indians in 2007-08. But things went downhill rapidly from there.
