Mets closer arrested at Citi Field

Francisco Rodriguez Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez was arrested Wednesday night at Citi Field, according to WABC-TV in New York .

Rodriguez, according the report, punched his father-in-law in the team's family room.

Rodriguez did not pitch in the Mets' 6-2 loss to the Rockies.

UPDATE: The New York Daily News has more details on the altercation:

The disagreement spilled over into the hallway, where family members, including women and children, were waiting for players after the game. Rodriguez was yelling as he was pushed back from the Family Lounge into the hallway. Security arrived, stopped foot traffic in the hallway as they pulled the pitcher from the group and hustled him back into the clubhouse.

When approached and asked about the scene in the hallway, the visibly angry Rodriguez told a reporter who witnessed it:

"Mind your own f--- business."

He immediately left the clubhouse.

UPDATE: The Mets released a statement, "There was an incident between Francisco Rodriguez and his family tonight at the ballpark. He was questioned by police and all other questions pertaining to this incident will be referred to the police department."

UPDATE: The Wall Street Journal reports Rodriguez will be charged with third-degree assault.
