  • So, as it turns out, the bookies aren't so smart after all. Okay, they're smart, but they're not perfect -- having Green Bay as a 2.5-poing favorite (or 3-point fave at kickoff depending on where you went) ended up torching them, as America laid tons of money on the Packers. At one point, Jay Rood, the guy runs the MGM's sportsbook, took a call from his boss who asked "What's the worst-case scenario?" Rood answered: "It's happening."

Glenn Beck apologizes for Urlacher name calling

Some random website put together a ridiculous list of people who are "the blackest white folks we know." Brian Urlacher and Glenn Beck of Fox made this list. Note that how/why this list occurs is unimportant, as is who is on it.

What we do care about is Beck. On his Fox News show, he went through the entire list and while pointing at a picture of Urlacher with a shaved head, called him a "Neo-Nazi."

Um, whoops ?

After all, Urlacher, our No. 2 overall ranked linebacker in the NFL , could do some unholy damage to Beck in a quick fashion, were he so inclined.

Apparently, though, someone told Beck that Urlacher mangles mortals for a living, and he decided to aplogize.
"Since then, I have been informed by my staff that Brian -- uh, Mr. Urlacher -- could kill me with his thumb in nine seconds if he wanted to. Although if we are talking about people in Chicago wanting to beat me up, he's going to have to stand in a very long line.

"Anyway, I apologize to anyone who was offended. I just made a neo-Nazi joke based on the short hair and white skin; I don't actually think he has fascist plans to take over the Earth."
That's a wiser move than even, say, investing in gold -- nine seconds almost seems like enough time for Urlacher to take care of Beck twice , although if he's using his thumb, that's probably a reasonable estimation.
