Los Angeles Lakers star Lamar Odom is appearing in a reality TV show with his wife, Khloe Kardashian, and the pair has released a trailer for the show. Posted by Ben Golliver.
Back in January, we noted that Los Angeles Lakers star Lamar Odom and his wife, Khloe Kardashian, had landed a reality TV show . Ever since that news broke, I've just been sitting here at my computer waiting to write a follow up post every time something new comes out about the show. It's been a long three months, and I got sidetracked by the launch of their unisex fragrance --"Unbreakable" -- and the super creepy ad for it. I'm proud to announce the TV show, titled "Khloe and Lamar" has officially released its trailer.
In the opening credits, Odom dribbles a basketball while being defended by Kardashian as the pop music blares. Odom executes a spin move and reverse dunk -- clearly Kardashian's lateral quickness is not where it needs to be -- but then immediately returns to Kardashian, who playfully slaps him in the face. He responds by throwing the basketball away over his shoulder so that he can smooch with his bride. Is this meant to be a metaphor for his life? A visual representation of a realignment of his priorities? Lakers fans can only shudder.
Anyway, here's the trailer courtesy of Ryan Seacrest on YouTube.
The show starts in April. From the looks of it, this could be the greatest thing to happen to every team in the league not named the Los Angeles Lakers.

Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom and reality TV star Khloe Kardashian are releasing a unisex fragrance called "Unbreakable." Posted by Ben Golliver.
I've seen NBA players dislocate their kneecaps and rupture their patellar tendons, but I have never, ever seen something as disturbing as this. Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom has teamed up with his wife, reality TV star Khloe Kardashian, to release "Unbreakable: a unisex fragrance."
Here's video of the ad for the cologne/perfume, via YouTube user reallamarodom.
Unfortunately, this does not appear to be a mock cologne advertisement like the one that helped land Minnesota Timberwolvers power forward Kevin Love a spot on the Western Conference All-Star team. Odom's YouTube channel provides additional details.
Two days before Valentine's Day -- on February 12 -- Lamar and Khloe will celebrate the release of their unisex fragrance, Unbreakable, with a launch party at Perfumaria at the Florida Mall in Orlando, Florida. Fans of the couple can meet them at the 7PM event, and receive a free gift with any purchase of a 3.4 fl. oz. bottle. Unbreakable will be available nationwide at Perfumaria stores, and Perfumaria.com.The fragrance's ad features cheesy music, a topless Odom and a smiling Kardashian as they read the sappy script and hug each other with extremely uncomfortable public displays of affection. "There's something sexy about a couple sharing a scent. Soft yet powerful. Strong but sensual," Kardashian intones, as if angling for an Oscar nomination for her voice-over performance.
"That perfect mix of masculine and feminine. There is a beauty of believing one cannot exist without the other," Odom replies, like a robot brainwashed by Scientologists so that he would agree to participate.
"That sometimes the bond between two souls is truly," Kardashian responds again, before the two say, together, "unbreakable."
Pardon me: I've got a wooden spoon lodged in my esophagus and the timber bits are making it difficult to type.
We recently noted that Odom and Kardashian have teamed up for a reality show as well.
Hat tip: The Basketball Jones.

Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom and his wife, Khloe Kardashian, are set to start in a reality television program. Posted by Ben Golliver.
Khloe Kardashian, reality television star and wife of Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom, announced on her Celebuzz.com blog Wednesday that the power couple has landed an E! network reality television program about their marriage.
Ok dolls, it’s official! Lamar and I will soon begin filming our very own show on E! called Khloe & Lamar!
WOOOOHOOOOOOOO! How exciting is this?! It’s been an option since we got married, but we wanted to enjoy our first year in private. With Keeping Up with the Kardashians, only a very small part of our life together is shown, but with this show, we’re putting it ALL out there LOL...
The Associated Press reports that the series will also star Kardashian's brother, Rob.
The eight-episode series, tentatively titled "Khloe & Lamar," will air on E! and begin filming early this year, focusing on the couple and her brother, Rob Kardashian, who is a semi-permanent houseguest, the network said Wednesday.
The show will also follow Odom both in Los Angeles and on the road with the Lakers, who are seeking their third consecutive NBA championship.
Kardashian also wrote that, "Lamar and I could not be more thrilled about this. It’s show time baby!!!!" ESPNLA.com, however, quotes Odom calling the show "an opportunity," and he doesn't sound nearly as head over heels about the whole thing as his wife makes him out to be.
"I don't know if 'excited' is the right word, but it should be fun. It should be a lot of fun. I look forward to doing it and seeing the outcome... I got married on TV, bro," Odom said. "So, it's part of what my family and my wife's family do for a living. I expect it to be good."
All of this leaves me a little bit speechless, but one thing is for sure: if the Lakers don't three-peat, this show will take some blame.

CBSSports.com's Ken Berger keeps up with the tallest member of the Kardashians, Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom. Posted by Ben Golliver. On Monday, we gave you a sneak peek at Ken Berger of CBSSports.com's sitdown with Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom. Here's the full video interview, topping out at more than four minutes. Berger and Odom discuss Odom's much-publicized marriage to reality television "star" Khloe Kardashian, Odom's NBA success, what he has done with his NBA championship rings, and the tragic death of his son Jayden. Odom comes off as a thoughtful person, player and father. He recounts his history as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers, the changes that a celebrity marriage have meant for him and how he felt a burden of responsibility to remain steady after his son passed away. He also talks about reconnecting with the game of basketball after the tragedy. "Life for me has been a ride, a joyful ride," Odom tells Berger. With the Lakers poised to compete for a third straight NBA title, that should come as no surprise.

Odom is one of the more fascinating stories in the league. A space cadet, a champion, a celebrity, a redeemed semi-bust, and arguably the biggest difference in a Lakers win vs. a Lakers' loss. In an interview we'll share with you this afternoon, Ken Berger talked to Odom about a variety of things including, as in the video above, what it's like going beyond just being a basketball star after his marriage to a Kardashian. Odom has tailed off after an extremely hot start to the season, back to his very-spacy ways, but he'll continue to be the biggest differential between a Lakers win and a loss.
If he's on, the Lakers are almost unstoppable. If he's lost and confused, their defense and offense can seem incomplete. He'll be relied on even more this season with a declining Kobe Bryant and new additions trying to learn the system. Publicly, he's gone from being questioned to being loved. He's kind of become the friendlier version of Ron Artest. Formerly questioned and criticized to lauded as a vital part of a championship team. Just goes to show what being a Laker can do for you.
