Vegas odds on Jeremy Lin / Kim Kardashian date

Las Vegas thinks there's a decent chance that Jeremy Lin is fronting when it comes to his interest in reality star Kim Kardashian.

The New York Knicks guard turned global sensation said in an interview aired on Monday's Good Morning America that the two are not a likely romantic match. USAToday.com has the quote.
"Stuff about me dating Kim Kardashian, I mean, I have no idea where that came from and all these other rumors," said Lin, adding he doesn't think they're each others "type."
Gossip website MediaTakeOut.com reported last week that Kardashian, 31, thought Lin, 23, was"cute" and that she was interested in going on a date with him. Kardashian, of course, divorced New Jersey Nets forward Kris Humphries after just 72 days of marriage back in October. Kim's sister, Khloe, is married to Dallas Mavericks forward Lamar Odom.

The speculation surrounding Kardashian and Lin has led gambling website Bovada.LV to post odds on whether Lin and Kardashian go on a date, settling the line at 5/1. For the bet to pay, the pair must go on a date prior to the conclusion of the 2012 NBA Finals.

This is not the first time Lin has attracted attention from Vegas oddsmakers. Last week, we noted that Lin's strong play as a starter improved New York's odds at winning the 2012 NBA Finals from 40/1 to 18/1. Lin is also 40/1 to win the 2012 NBA MVP award.

Go ahead and take a shower. After reading this post, you've earned it.

Report: Humphries files for annulment

Posted by Royce Young

We interrupt your regularly scheduled free agency mania to get back to the Kris Humphries-Kim Kardashian beat. Because that's what's important.

According to TMZ.com, Humphries filed for an annulment against Kardashian on the grounds she defrauded him into marrying her.
Kris was not in on the alleged fraud, meaning he did not stage the marriage for Kim's reality show.  We're told Kris wanted this to be a genuine marriage, but Kim was never really on board.

We broke the story the couple has a prenup, but according to the documents Kris claims there are "community and quasi-community assets."  Sources connected with Kim claim there's no community property.

The short story here -- there's going to be a fight, because Kris thinks Kim did him in.
According to the report, Kris wants Kim to pay his attorney fees for this mess as well. The Kris and Kim wedding special on E! paid out some $17 million. Which is why some -- Humphries evidently included -- felt the whole thing was staged just to get a payday. Hence the "fraud" part of it.

With the NBA season coming up and Humphries being a free agent, it looks like he's going to have a pretty serious distraction on his hands.

Video: Kim Kardashian punches Kris Humphries

Posted by Ben Golliver

Holy matrimony took an unholy turn back in October, when news broke that reality television star Kim Kardashian filed a disclaimer of interest -- wait, no, I meant a petition for divorce from New Jersey Nets free agent forward Kris Humphries.

Their marriage lasted 72 days, just enough time to get footage for Kardashian's new E! television series, Kourtney & Kim Take New York. The series debuted on Monday and featured startling footage of Kardashian winding up to punch Humphries for "accidentally breaking her toenail," according to TheImproper.com.

Kardashian appears to be smiling while throwing the punch and Humphries doesn't exactly cower in fear, but psychologist Dr. Drew Pinsky opined on CNN that the punch amounted to domestic violence.

"What you are seeing there is domestic violence," Pinsky told viewers. "A lot of people watching this may not understand that and I get that. It looks playful. What’s the big deal? It is a massive deal."

Pinsky continued: "Kris and Kim, listen, they're separating and that's over with, this doesn't need to be reported or anything. But anybody listening at home or viewing this has to understand the spectrum of domestic violence. And this is an incontrovertible piece of evidence of someone who is engaged in a domestic violence relationship."

Kris Humphries gets nothing in Kardashian divorce

By Matt Moore

If you were thinking Kris Humphries walks away with some big fortune after his marriage to Kim Kardashian crashed into flames, think again. TMZ reports:
As we first reported, Kim and Kris have a prenup -- which Kim felt was "the smart thing to do."

Sources familiar with the prenup tell TMZ ... the document keeps ALL assets separate, and with such a short marriage neither walks away with money from the other -- not a single penny.

Now that leaves just one piece of business on the table -- Kims $2 million engagement ring.  Sorry Kris, but you lose on 2 counts:

1.  Under California law, once you said "I do," you lost any rights to the ring

2.  You didnt pay for the ring, stupid

It's just so strange the the marriage ended in less than 75 days. I mean, if Kris and Kim can't make it work, who can?

We'd love to be bringing you actual news, like, say, about the NBA's opening night, but guess what? Still locked out, no talks scheduled. Look what you have reduced us to, NBA. Look.

Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian to divorce

Posted by Royce Young

And now for today's "You know there's a lockout when..." post of the day:

Kim Kardashian and Nets forward Kris Humphries have filed for divorce, according to TMZ. Ah, who am I kidding -- lockout or not, that's big news.
We're told even though the marriage was short, she will not seek an annulment. It's a garden variety divorce, in which Kim cites "irreconcilable differences." We're told the date of separation is listed as today, Oct. 31, 2011.

Kim has hired disso-queen Laura Wasser, who has repped the likes of Britney Spears, Maria Shriver, Angelina Jolie, Ryan Reynolds, and Robyn Gibson, Mel's almost ex-wife.
The couple was married for 72 days and did have a prenuptual agreement. Humphries reportedly spent $2 million on her engagement ring. I'd say chance are good with it just being 72 days that it falls under the return policy. Lucky for Kris.

TMZ reports that Humphries is "bummed":
Kris Humphries desperately tried to save his marriage to Kim Kardashian, because he's telling friends ... he doesn't believe in divorce.

Kris, who's a religious guy, is telling friends he and Kim discussed the possibility of divorce, but he believed they could work their problems out.
The two wed over the summer in a ceremony that reportedly cost $10 million. Meaning as TMZ calculated, that's $138,888 for every day they were married. However, E! paid out a reported $17 million for the television special for the wedding.

(If you were wondering, Humphries made $3.2 million a double-double starting power forward for the Nets last season. And he's made about $16.9 million total in his career.)

Humphries does have free agency to look forward once the lockout ends though. And without Kardashian pushing for a primetime location, a bunch of teams probably like their chances a bit better now.

Unfortunate for Kris and Kim as it's a shame any time a marriage ends. But I'm sure those sitting courtside in opposing arenas might have much sympathy.
