Jonathan Feigan of the Houston Chronicle reports the Rockets have come to terms with power forward Luis Scola. Feigan reports the deal is for five years, worth $47 million.
There was never a lot of question whether or not the Rockets would keep Scola, who was a restricted free agent. General manager Daryl Morey was always pretty clear he wanted to keep both Kyle Lowry and Scola. A few other teams were rumored to be interested (Charlotte being one), but Morey was set on retaining his starting four.
Scola is older than most realize though. He's 30, though he just completed his third year in the league. But last season was his best. In 32.6 minutes a game, he averaged 16.2 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per game. He's also shot over 50 percent from the field all three seasons in the league.
