It seems that Arizona head coach Mike Stoops has finally had enough of wide receiver Bug Wright, as the news came down on Wednesday afternoon that Wright had been dismissed from the team.
“Just a violation of team policies and rules,” coach Mike Stoops said Wednesday morning. “It’s been a chronic problem that hasn’t rectified itself.”
Stoops said he didn’t know what Wright would do next. Wright, who has used his redshirt season, would have to transfer to a lower-division school to continue playing because he wouldn’t have to sit out a year.Wright had originally been suspended by Stoops back in November, but was allowed to return in time to play against Oklahoma State in the Alamo Bowl. He muffed the first punt in that game, which led to an early Oklahoma State lead. One the Cowboys would never relent.
Wright caught 25 passes for 294 yards and 2 touchdowns in 2010, and had 52 receptions for 581 yards and 3 touchdowns during his three year career.
