Three Colorado players investigated for vandalism

Posted by Tom Fornelli

New Colorado head coach Jon Embree has his first chance to deliver a message to his team, as three Colorado football players are being investigated for vandalism according to the Denver Post.  The incident allegedly happened after the three players were denied entry into a party early last Saturday morning. Offensive linemen Bryce Givens, Eric Richter and defensive tackle Will Pericak, along with a fourth unidentified man, allegedly broke an elevator and kicked some cars in a parking garage on the way out.

In the video, posted by the victim and party host Jimmy Do, Givens can be seen kicking three cars. Here's a description from the police report:
"A group of 4 unknown males attempted to gain entry into his (Do) home. They parties were turned away. The males apparently became angry and as they left the building, they kicked and punched the elevator, possibly breaking the lights and causing the elevator to malfunction. The males then entered the parking garage. The first male exited the elevator and kicked the victim's 2007 BMW vehicle. ... The same male suspect also kicked two more vehicles before exiting the garage."
Do says he will not press charges against any of the players, as they've agreed to pay for the damages.  Though that doesn't mean they'll be escaping the wrath of their new head coach, who released a statement on Friday letting his players know this kind of behavior will not be tolerated.

"I am in the process of meeting with all of the players involved in this incident," Embree said in the statement. "I understand that they have met with the victims and have offered apologies and restitution, and while that is appropriate, they will also face team and university sanctions.

"While I cannot reveal what those penalties might be, I will say I'm not going to tolerate this kind of behavior. I am still in the process of getting to know this squad and am recruiting new players, but I am serving notice to every current and future member of our team that I will not excuse off-the-field conduct that involves violence, vandalism, or any actions that dishonor this university or this program."
