A week after improving to 4-0 with a victory over North Carolina, Georgia Tech will make their first ACC road trip to Raleigh to face N.C. State. The Yellow Jackets are on a mission to try and reverse the outcome of last season's 45-28 loss to the Wolfpack in Atlanta.
"[We] always remember what happened last year at Georgia Tech," said linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu. "We're ready to go on the road and get it back, get the respect back from N.C. State that they took from us last year."
One of the things that went wrong for the Yellow Jackets in that contest was the special teams, where the Wolfpack blocked a Chandler Anderson punt in the first quarter and turned it into the first touchdown of the game. Heading into the rematch on Saturday, there is something odd about the Georgia Tech special teams.
According to the Yellow Jackets' depth chart, redshirt freshman Tony Zenon weighs 182 pounds when he returns kickoffs. HOWEVER when Zenon hits the field to return punts, the Albany, Ga. native sheds 12 pounds. We can only imagine this presents a competitive advantage that will have N.C. State's special teams unit on high alert for No. 9 if/when he hits the field.
