Two weeks ago, Florida State was a top-5 team one win away from being considered a national championship contender. After two tough losses to Oklahoma and Clemson, the Seminoles get a much-needed off week to get healthy and fix some on-field issues. Unfortunately, they are going to have to keep dealing with off-field issues.
Cornerback Greg Reid was arrested early Monday morning by the Tallahassee Police Department and charged with misdemeanor perjury (not in an official proceeding) and resisting an officer without violence.
The junior cornerback is also a key piece of the Seminoles' return game, and sat out Florida State's 35-30 loss to Clemson on Saturday. Reid injured his right knee in the loss to Oklahoma on Sept. 17 and was on the sideline for the loss, but never saw the field. Reid and linebacker Telvin Smith received one-game suspensions earlier in the season for a violations of unspecified team rules. It is unknown at this point whether or not the suspensions and arrest are connected in any way.
