This Michigan State shirt is a little confused

There's no shortage of companies out there making college-themed apparel, and one of them happens to be Victoria's Secret with its "Pink" line of clothes. Now, some may scorn a lingerie company for selling shirts and pants on the grounds that it is both cruel and counterintuitive (to men, anyway).

Victoria's Secret, however, would apparently like to redefine "cruelly counterintuitive t-shirt" well beyond those grounds. That is the only possible explanation we can think of for this Michigan State-themed (or Michigan-themed?) monstrosity found by CNBC's Darren Rovell on Friday afternoon:

Yes, it's real; here's the VictoriasSecret.com page to buy one for yourself, if you want one (read: are an insane person). UPDATE: The page has since been taken down. Here's the Michigan version, which for some reason does not say "THIS IS SPARTA!"

Now, "Hail to the Victors" probably isn't going to sell terribly well in East Lansing. It might sell in Ann Arbor, but VS seems to have gravely misspelled "Wolverines" and miscolored the shirt.

Now, a particularly devilish Spartan fan might inquire what exactly the Wolverines are victors of, since MSU has beaten Michigan in four straight football games (an all-time best for Sparty). But this is football, not Highlander. You don't get to assume your rival's motto after you beat them. Can you imagine if Auburn went up to take the crystal football after beating Oregon last year and... oh, let's just fire up Photoshop for this one.

The mind shudders.
