Jerrod Johnson thanks Texas A&M through song

Posted by Tom Fornelli

Jerrod Johnson's career at Texas A&M probably didn't go quite how he was hoping it would. After a stellar season in 2009 that saw Johnson throw for 3,579 yards, 30 touchdowns and only 8 interceptions, he appeared poised for stardom going into 2010. Stardom that never quite materialized after Johnson and the Aggies offense struggled through the first half of the season and Johnson was replaced by Ryan Tannehill at quarterback.

Well, Johnson holds no grudges against his old school. In fact, he wanted to make sure to thank Texas A&M for all it had done for him, and what better way to do that then through a song?

You know, normally I would post a song written by a player on this blog in order to make fun of them. I can't do that here. Johnson's song isn't exactly the type of music I normally find myself listening to -- JUSTIN BIEBER FOREVER!!1!! -- but I was able to listen to the whole thing and admit that it isn't terrible at all.

Mike Gundy has Justin Bieber Fever

Posted by Adam Jacobi

Undoubtedly, the biggest story of the day in college football today is Jadeveon Clowney committing to South Carolina the news that Justin Bieber's ringtone is Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy's epic "I'm a man; I'm 40!" rant from a couple years back.

Word travels fast in Stillwater, apparently, because at Gundy's press conference today, his cell phone went off, and you can probably guess who's singing on Gundy's ringtone all of a sudden:

Oh, it's the circle of life, isn't it? If life is just college football and Disney music, anyway. A heavy price to pay for college football, that. Thank goodness we don't live in such a hellish world.

At any rate, top score to both Justin Bieber and Mike Gundy, not only for their gestures but for their extraordinary efforts in getting themselves mentioned in the same sentence for the first time in recorded history. Now if we can just figure out who the heck this "Suburbs" band is that won the Album of the Year Grammy...

Justin Bieber is a man, he's 40

Posted by Tom Fornelli

Something I never thought I'd be doing on this blog: posting about Justin Bieber. Yet, here I am, and here you are, on a college football blog about to see a video of Justin Bieber doing an interview on Radio Disney. Don't worry, once you see the video, it will make a lot more sense.

Yes, and let's hope that young Justin is a man, for he couldn't have felt very good last night after not winning a single Grammy. I mean, what kind of world are we living in when a band that these luminaries have never heard of can win Album of the Year, and Justin Bieber not take home a single award? Mike Gundy wouldn't stand for this.

UPDATE: Mike Gundy has come down with Bieber Fever in response.

VIDEO: Cam Newton reads Top Ten on the Late Show

Posted by Adam Jacobi

The Late Show With David Letterman had a special guest tonight, as Heisman-winning Auburn quarterback Cam Newton -- perhaps you've heard of him -- stopped by to read the night's Top Ten List. His category: Top Ten Things Cam Newton Can Say Now That He's Won The Heisman Trophy. Watch below:

It's tough to pick any favorites of the ten -- that task is sufficiently subjective that picking any of the ten would just invite disagreement and discord -- but it was nice to see the Late Show writers walk the jokes up to the point of a bombshell admission without ever making the punchline or situation uncomfortable for Newton. Well, unless he's violently opposed to Justin Bieber , anyway, and on that front one can hardly blame him.

Do you know how to Bucky?

Posted by Tom Fornelli

I'm not going to lie.  As far as student/fan produced videos go these days, I didn't hate this song at all.  I'll even admit that I bobbed my head a little bit, even if I'm still not quite sure how to Bucky just yet.  Either way, if I like the song, then it has to be good because I have very strict musical tastes.  The only three people you'll find on this blogger's iPod are Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Vanilla Ice.

So you know my ear is discerning.

Oh, and does anybody know where I can get a red-sequined jacket like the one the old guy in the video is wearing?  I have a keen eye for fashion too.

Thanks to Mr. Dodd for finding this.
