Oregon State DT facing litany of charges

Posted by Tom Fornelli

Oregon State has suspended defensive tackle Castro Masaniai indefinitely following an arrest over the weekend. Masaniai was arrested over the weekend and booked on counts of second-degree kidnapping, coercion, disorderly conduct, harassment and criminal mischief. While details are still a bit cloudy about what happened, according to the police report, it all started at a local McDonalds.

According to reports the incident happened at the downtown McDonald's restaurant. The second-degree kidnapping charge comes into play as Masaniai's apparently attempted to pull his girlfriend out of the restaurant.

Masaniai had been projected as a starter for the Beavers this season, but odds are that his suspension will have an impact on that as will the judicial system. He played in seven games last season and made four tackles before suffering a shoulder injury that ended his season early. The shoulder injury also kept him out of spring practice, and the team wasn't expecting him back before August.
