VIDEO: LaMichael James discusses elbow injury

Posted by Chip Patterson

By now, you've probably seen LaMichael James' gruesome arm/elbow injury from Thursday's nights 43-15 win over California. At the time, we speculated that it could be a big loss for the Ducks' backfield.

But check out this portion of James' post game press conference. It is atypical of an Oregon player to be so upfront regarding his status. James mentions in the video below he suffered a similar injury in high school and only missed a week of action.

Regardless of the official extent of the injury, you have to admire James' positivity. Check out the press conference clip in the video below, many tips of the hat to Doc Saturday for pointing it out.

LaMichael James leaves game with arm injury

Posted by Chip Patterson

Oregon started the second half with a bang against Cal, rolling off 22 unanswered points in the third quarter. But that high-powered offense may have taken a blow when running back LaMichael James left the game with an apparent arm injury.

James had just come three yards short of scoring a touchdown when he stepped out of bounds to set up 1st and Goal for the Ducks. On the next play, James ran into a wall of Cal defensive lineman at the line of scrimmage and was brought to the ground for no gain. On the way down, James' right arm was bent backwards as he hit in the ground. The 2010 Doak Walker winner immediately began screaming in pain on the ground, and the medical staff immediately requested the air cast for his arm.

LaMichael James entered Thursday as the nation's leading rusher, and had totaled 239 yards on 30 carries before leaving the game with the injury.  It should be noted that Oregon will not officially release any details on injuries during or following the game.
