The SEC has gone through a few different iterations of its principal logo over the years (before settling on the current version, that is), but one constant has been the conference's pinwheel-style logo with pennants of all 10 and eventually 12 members surrounding the logo at center.
But after Sunday's announcement that Texas A&M has officially become the SEC's 13th team, that logo was out-of-date. But judging by a photo tweeted by SEC Assistant Media Relations Director Sean Cartell, it appears out the league has wasted no time repairing that issue:
That's right: nestled between Vanderbilt and Tennessee in alphabetical, there's your Texas A&M pennant. The logo disks are apparently being delivered to A&M ahead of the Aggies' introductory press conference, with Cartell present on the ground in College Station.
We're not going very far out on a limb with this, but based on the quickness with which those disks were prepared, we're guessing the SEC knew A&M was coming aboard before yesterday's announcement. Call it a hunch.
