PODCAST: Miami's future, LSU's QB issues, more

Posted by Chip Patterson

Adam Aizer and I sat down on Monday to try and tackle a full slate of headlines around college football. We dive into the troubles at Miami, and offer our ideas on changes that can prevent this type of situation from happening in the future. We also discuss LSU's potential player issues in light of recent skirmishes in Baton Rouge, whether or not Oklahoma deserves the top spot in the polls, and break down the effects of injuries to key players at Arkansas, Washington, and N.C. State. Tune in to hear all that and more (including where to hide the Iowa-Iowa State trophy if you won it) on this edition of the CBSSports.com College Football Podcast.

PODCAST: Big East season preview

Posted by Chip Patterson

The Big East gets criticized often on the national level for being the one of the weaker BCS conferences, but with new coaches and high-octane offenses 2011 could be a bounce back year for the league. I join Adam Aizer to sort through the many story lines in the Big East and try to make sense of a league that has had 5 different teams win a share of the conference championship since 2005.

PODCAST: Big 12 Season Preview

Posted by Tom Fornelli

As part of CBSSports.com's Big 12 preview I took some time off from the realignment madness to sit down with Adam Aizer and talk about what we can actually expect to see on the field in the Big 12 this season. We talked about whether or not Oklahoma has what it takes to hold on to its current spot atop the polls, whether or not Oklahoma State and Texas A&M will live up to expectations, and about potential sleepers in the conference (good news for you Missouri and Kansas State fans).

So take some time out of your day to give it a listen, won't you?

PODCAST: ACC season preview

Posted by Chip Patterson

As part of our ACC Preview, Adam Aizer, J. Darin Darst, and I sat down to take a look at the season ahead in the league. The ACC is a league with a lot of individual talent, but few teams that really stand out on the national level. We discuss the possible shift of power from the Coastal Division to the Atlantic Division, as well as the chances of Florida State reclaiming the conference. I throw an obnoxious amount of support behind Miami as a sleeper, and we run through Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and make our pick for the ACC Championship Game.

PODCAST: Revisiting ACC Media Days

Posted by Chip Patterson

Finally back from the ACC Football Kickoff in Pinehurst, N.C., I sat down with Adam Aizer and J. Darin Darst to rehash some of the lessons we learned, best stories from the event, and take some time to preview the upcoming season in the ACC. From my experience playing Pinehurst No. 4 with Maryland quarterback Danny O'Brien to an introduction to "Jimbo-isms," we peel back the curtain on a conference in transition.

10 of the 12 teams in the conference have undergone a coaching change since 2007, and now the conference seeks to break through on the national stage. Adam, Darin, and I discuss how important non-conference matchups are for that breakthrough, and identify the most important showdown on the 2011 schedule.

But Will Muschamp knows the Gators expect to be fighting for that SEC title, and this year's squad will try to reclaim that division crown.
