CP3 trade should have been approved!

I know, "another CP3 trade post", but hear me out. I'd like to give my opinion on the deal. I'm gonna start out by saying the trade should have went through. Why? Hornets certainly benefited from the trade big time. The Lakers and Rockets if anyone lost in the deal. Basketball reasons crap is garbage. For all the arguments about the value of CP3 to the team so they can be able to sell the team to a bidder isn't a factor. It shouldn't be if it is. Bidders have attempted to buy the Hornets and the reason the deal didn't happen was because the bidders didn't like the location of the team. Stern wants the team to stay in New Orleans which is why the team has yet to be sold at this time. CP3 has already stated he is leaving as a free agent at the end of the season. What value does that bring to the franchise? For 66 games he is there and he is gone if you keep him. Why keep him and get nothing? Hornets got one helluva deal if you ask me compared to what the Cavs and Raptors received last summer.

What is wrong with the trade? 2 superstars aka great players on one team? The Lakers got worse with the deal if you ask me. Why do I say that? Look at their frontcourt....Who is starting for the Lakers at power forward or Center on opening night? Won't be Bynum because he is suspended and he is injury prone. Missed 17 games by avg the last couple of seasons. What will happen when they face teams with bigs? They are gonna get destroyed in the paint and out rebounded just about every game because now they are thin. That was one of the great assets that led to their championships was their depth in the frontcourt. Now with no Odom or Gasol....who will fill in for injury prone Bynum? Who will start? Come on now!!

Rockets if anybody lost in the deal.....Gasol for a 1st round pick, Kevin Martin, Scola, and, Dragic. Are you kidding me?

Hornets ran away with this deal big time. I have no idea why anyone would think they lost in this deal. They received 2 draft picks, Dragic, Scola, Kevin Martin, Odom. Look at that solid lineup they would have. PG: Jack or Dragic, SG: Martin, SF:Ariza, PF:Scola, C: Okafor, and 6th man Odom. What is wrong with that lineup? I'd rather the Hornets get something than nothing for CP3.

You have owners out there complaining like Dan Gilbert. He is one of the main reasons why the NBA had a lockout. Making new rules where players can't return to their team after being traded. Brings back memories of Z and Jamison deal. I find it hard to feel any more pity for the Cavs and their fans.

Who should LA target? CP3 or D-12?

I've heard the rumor mill via CBS that LA is not only targeting Dwight Howard or Chris Paul....they are targeting both. I think it is very doubtful that the dream scenario came true. Take it for what it is worth, but who should the Lakers target?

Let me start out by saying.....I believe Dwight has a much bigger chance of landing in LA than Chris Paul. I think LA should add CP3. Why? They got Bynum and yes I know he injury prone, but he has potential to be great. I'd say when healthy he is the 2nd best center in the league behind Dwight Howard. The LA Lakers have been needing a point guard for years. They need a defensive point guard more so than a scoring one, but CP3 is the best defensive point guard in the game in my opinion. If somehow they would be able to keep Bynum or Gasol for CP3.....I believe that would be the best case scenario. Point guards have owned the LA Lakers. Chris Paul himself did it last year in a very entertaining series. They almost beat the Lakers, but free throws for the Hornets killed them. In any case, if you can't beat him....join him. I'd get CP3 if I were LA.

Neither would be bad case scenario, but Buss does love Bynum. Dwight Howard doesn't have the injury concerns like CP3 has had over the past couple of years. Dwight did say according to reports if he could play with any NBA player in the league....he wanted to play with Kobe Bryant. The comparisons to Shaq would be a media frenzy. Starting out in Orlando and joining LA....WOW!! I'm interested in Shaq's book, but I don't want to pay 25+ for it. In any case, what do you think? LA should target who? Chris Paul or Dwight Howard!?!?

Top priority for every playoff team offseason

Spurs-sign or draft a center. Dalembert would be a good sign and I think he would take a pay cut to win a championship. Heck try Yoa if price isn't too steep.
Lakers-sign a point guard!! Aaron Brooks is available in FA and would take a paycut to play for them without a doubt.
Mavs-resign Tyson Chandler
Thunder-sign a power forward named Jeff Green. That would suck for Boston.
Nuggets-Hope Chandler and Afflalo sign qualifying offers and resign JR Smith.
Trail Blazers-sign a backup center since Oden won't be able to play til January.
Hornets-get a shooting guard and resign David West. Get a Deshaun Stevenson or a JR Smith. I think the price tag would be a bit steep to get Jason Richardson, but they should give it a try if they want.
Grizzlies-resign Marc Gasol

Chicago Bulls-sign a shooting guard obviously. Target is gonna be obviously on Richardson in which the place I think J-Rich will end up. JR Smith and Stevenson are also good targets as well.
Miami Heat-Get Lebron to work on his gmae....LOL! Resign Chalmers to me is a priorty for the Heat. He is cheap, young, and is one of the best FAs out there who is that cheap.
Boston Celtics-resign Jeff Green!
Orlando Magic-RESIGN J-Rich or try to do a sign and trade with a team to get something out of him.
Atlanta Hawks-resign Jamal Crawford for hopefully less than 10 million.
New York Knicks-sign a center! Just imagine Yoa joining New York. LOL! I'd try and save money for next offseason o.
76ers-resign Thaddeus Young!!
Pacers-sign a shooting guard!!

My rooting 4 and against the Mavs playoff run!

This thread is made for the simple fact I want to show some much needed applause to the Mavs. I have to admit that I along with most of the NBA fans said that they would be knocked out by the Trail Blazers in the first round. They proved me wrong through out. I have hated the Mavs for a very long time. When I was younger and started watching the NBA I rooted for Allen Iverson's team because he was my favorite player. LA was reigning over the Western Conference for several years. Every year I would root against LA for obvious reasons. Kings could never get it done, but the Spurs did which is one of the main reasons why I liked the Spurs. They beat LA like no one else could really do all decade. Liking the Spurs(not my favorite team, but would root for them against certain teams) and their biggest rival in my opinion the Mavs. I think that is what drew the hatred that I had in my heart all these years.

Of course rooting against the Mavs vs virtually every team they faced just about. I rooted for the Heat in the Finals to win their first NBA championship in franchise history. Mavs had a great playoff run that year. Began the Finals series 2-0. The Heat came back and won it all. Of course, I cheered because the team I disliked with a passion lost. The following year the hatred probably got worse with Dirk winning the MVP award. Losing in the first round as the best team in the NBA was awesome at the time. Especially because it was the first time a team ever lost to a #8 seed in a 7 game series.

It cooled down rather with losses early in the playoffs, but I still disliked the team and rooted against the team vs virtually every team. Around 2008 or 2009 I found a guy I strongly disliked. His name was LeBron James. I eventually despised the guy just as much and more than the Mavs. I almost went off topic. I'll try to stay on it here. I rooted against the Mavs vs every team besides the team that Lebron was on since 2008 or 2009. There was no way, I thought that the Mavs would make it to the Finals. Not only that....I never thought I would ever root for the team to win a championship which I did in a rather weird way.

Playoffs began (thank goodness...I was beyond ready for like month before the season ended) of course rooted against the Heat and Mavs. Made a bold statement stating Mavs wouldn't make it out of the first round. That is my upset that didn't happen. My favorite team got the boot in the first round instead. Heat won their series(shocker...not). Mavs beat the Trail Blazers. I said Mavs won't beat LA. I'm gonna make an avatar bet thinking LA is gonna beat them without a doubt. Mavs not only beat LA, they beat them via sweep. If you would have told anyone before the season began LA would be swept they would have called you insane. Not only that, but if you would have said the Mavs of all teams would have swept them I figure they would have laughed at you. After my favorite team was eliminated....I rooted for OKC cuz they were underdogs. Underdogs in what I mean is after they were at the bottom of the NBA via standings  they came back and got to the playoffs and beat LA 2x. I thought that was impressive. I rooted for them cuz what a way it would have been. Meaning story of course in just a little amount of time to win an NBA championship from being one of the worst teams in the NBA without superstar signings or superstar trades. Didn't happen....Mavs beat OKC and were going to the Finals

If you would have told me 3 months ago or 5 years ago I'd be rooting for the Mavs to win their first championship I would have called you crazy cuz there was really no way that could happen unless of the two teams I hate the most face in the Finals. They met and I had to root for the team I have disliked for a very long time. They won their first championship and I was happy for them. Especially Jason Kidd. Rooted for him to win with the Nets vs LA. Good to see it. A good story to end their season. I'd like to say I'm sorry. I'm sorry for showing such lack of respect to the team, owner, ect. You indeed did prove me wrong. I'm rather proud to say that since you beat the Heat. If you would have beat a different team I'd probably be upset right now. In any case, I have to give you the credit you deserve and much respect. Dallas prove not only me wrong, but virtually 95% of the NBA wrong. Congrats to the Mavs of the Cinderella story. I'm proud of the organization and the team. Oh yea, I'm also proud to have the Mavs logo on my avatar all month due to the bet. I wish the team well going forward. Once again congrats to the 2011 NBA Finals Champions......the Dallas Mavericks. Surprised??SurprisedDon't be....STAY JEALOUS!!Cool
