Playoff win for GB made Rodgers over-rated!!!

In my personal opinion to me Rodgers was over-rated for a long time, but the playoff win sealed it. I love watching football games and watching videos to hype up the game. See the guys picks and so on and so forth. Listening all this week how Aaron Rodgers is the reason Packers win football games. He has no help yada yada yada. Personally I don't believe that. Last year I can make an argument it was just as much Rodgers fault for them losing as the defense. The playoff game last year went to OT. A shootout between both Warner and Rodgers. Which is fine some folks love football games like that. Neither defense was that great last season. Anyways point is Rodgers had a chance to win the football game in overtime. Yea defense shouldn't have gave up so so points, but Cardinals defense did the same. I mean if Warner and Rodgers didn't score so frequently quick they wouldn't have had that many possessions. Green Bay got the ball in OT. Rodgers lost the fumble that was recovered and went for a TD by the cardinals defense. To say it wasn't Rodgers fault is really an understatement. That's like saying Mannings INTs vs the Pats didn't cost them the game. Or Vick's INT on the final drive didn't cost the Eagles the football game. It was Rodgers fault they lost the football game. If you don't agree to that logic you are a mark for Rodgers.

As for this weekends football game where Rodgers has no help yada yada yada. He is an the elite category cuz of his stats like Rivers. Not because winning football games. The guy was suppose to be the MVP cuz his preseason stats. That didn't happen.....LOL! Anyways Rodgers has no help, but his defense finished ranked up there with the Steelers in the defensive category. In yet Roethlisberger is a product of the Steelers cuz of the defense. If it wasn't for defense he would be nothing according to critics. Thats fine I guess everyone has a right to their opinion. To me the same could or should be said about Rivers and Rodgers. They both had top defenses this season. One didn't make the playoffs. One got a playoff win for the first time of his career. All of a sudden we get posts to give the guy credit. Credit for what? Throwing 180 yards or having a running game that rushed for 120+ yards or leading a high powered offense led by Rodgers to 21 points. I mean seriously those stats don't impress anybody. 180 yards in his first playoff win in yet he deserves credit? Eagles offense had the ball in the final minute. Vick and the Eagles could have won the game. In yet the defense got the INT to clinch the victory. Rodgers did it all didn't he? He had no help at all on the ground or on defense, but the defense held Vick led Eagles offense to 16 points. Stopping them in the final minutes to win the football game. It just shows how over-rated the guy really is.

Again another point is Rodgers is the reason they are where they are. He missed Pats game due to concussion. Backup steps in and Pats are supposed to destroy them. Packers have no chance without Rodgers. The backup led the team to 27 points and the Pats wouldn't have won if it weren't for a key play by an offensive lineman. The offensive lineman returned a punt almost for a TD. It shows Rodgers isn't the reason they are in the position they are. To me it was all about the defense this year. You can't really argue with that. Rodgers has one of the best wideout tandems in the league. Finally I'm not gonna give Rodgers more credit than the defense for the Packers victory over wildcard weekend. He doesn't deserve all the praise he is receiving. He is one of the most over-rated quarterbacks in the league no doubt about it.

By the way, Packers got their first playoff win since 1997. That's saying something isn't it? 13 years without a playoff win. Congrats on the win. Again I stated in my "playoff predictions" that Green Bay will be heading to Dallas. Doesn't mean much other than I think they are a good football team.

Breakdown of NFC playoff teams+Super Bowl pick

This probably don't mean much since I've been wrong about the NFC just about every year I can remember. Picked the Packers in 2007, 2008 picked Giants, and the last year picked Vikings and picked them this year preseason. Of course none of that happened. Let's hope I can get one right. LOL!

I'll state why or why not I'm picking this team to represent the NFC.

Seattle Seahawks: Strong possibility that they can get in to the playoffs with a 7-9 record. Which will be decided this Sunday on NBC vs the Rams. Their starting quarterback is out. Defense isn't great nor is their offense period. I figure if they do make the playoffs they will be their to get beat down by the Saints or Falcons. Without Hasselback they have proven to struggle. That is why I don't like their chances.

Stl. Rams: The Rams could make the playoffs with a victory with an 8-8 record if they come out on top. What a year they have had by being the worst team in football to going to the playoffs. That would be amazing for the franchise and their fanbase. The future looks bright with Bradford behind center. He's in the makings of becoming a star. Leading this team with injured wide receiver after another. Steven Jackson will be a force on the ground and will play a factor. I like them winning the ball game vs the Seahawks, but I don't see a win happening. I see an early playoff exit.

Tampa Bay Bucs: They could possibly make the playoffs, but I doubt it. If they do as a 6th seed I don't see them beating Philly. Freeman has had a phenomanal year.  Great future ahead of him. Along with this franchise. I remember watching a camp preview for the Bucs and they said they would surprise the NFL with a good season as they did. Congrats on the great year.

NYG: Has a possibility to make the playoffs with a Green Bay loss and a win tomorrow. Giants just havn't been the same team. Started off slow than were the hottest team in the NFC than all of a sudden they bomb. Again I doubt they make the playoffs, but if they do they can certainly make a run at a Super Bowl, but if they play like they did the last two weeks I don't like their chances. I'm not picking them to even make the playoffs as of now so.

Green Bay Packers: This may come as a surprise pick and it may not to others, but if they make the playoffs they are the team I pick to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. As long as Aaron Rodgers is healthy I like their chances. I despise the Packers, but I'm picking them. Hope I'm wrong. Unbiased here.....

New Orleans Saints: Saints have played great football the last month thanks to their injured players recovering including Reggie Bush. In any case I don't think their defense would be good enough to fend off the Packers offense or Philly offense. Heck probably even Atlanta's offense. Atlanta's beat them before. That is one of the reasons I don't like their chances. Nothing wrong with their offense I just don't have the confidence in their defense.

Philadelphia Eagles: Vick has been playing like an MVP all year. This team did look unstoppable at one point. I did think about giving the Eagles the nod as the my pick to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl, but they are bit inconsistant. Loss to the Vikings with a 3rd string quarterback? That is what made me 2nd guess myself. Whoever wins that wildcard game between Eagles vs Packers will be my pick, but right now the Packers are for sure.

Chicago Bears: Not a strong believer in the Bears. I really havn't been despite their season this year. Whoever the Bears face at home whether it be Eagles, Saints, or Packers I don't like the Bears in the matchup. I think those three teams are better than the Bears. Just my opinion of course. I'm just not a believer in the Bears.

Atlanta Falcons: This Sunday will decide if the Falcons get homefield advantage and clinch the the division. Which is a big difference for this football team cuz Matt Ryan had led this team to a 19-2 record his last 3 seasons. So home field is good for them. Big difference in win/loss column. I know they won't go to the Super Bowl if they don't get home field advantage. Have a stronger possiblity if they do of course. Personally I think the Falcons are a lucky football team. Their record shows they are 12-3, but I don't believe they are as good as their record. Barely beating Bucs, losing to the Saints in last game. I think the Saints, Packers, Eagles all are better football teams than the Falcons too. Question marks with Eagles and Packers. I know for a fact Saints are the better football team. I despise the Saints. Ask any Saints fan on these boards. They'll tell ya that.

This is my breakdown of all of the NFC teams. Why and why not I pick them. So on and so forth. Tell me what ya think. Packers will represent the NFC.

Cliff Lee signs with the Phillies? Why?

Ok as we all know Lee was traded years back to the Phillies midseason. Phillies make it to the world series and face the Yankees. The guy just had one of the most outstanding performances in world series "series". I mean I remember the play where he just caught the ball like he didn't care. They lose the world series of course to the Yanks. Many thought it would begin a rivalry. We all knew Halladay was rumored to be traded, but to the Phillies? For Cliff Lee? I was like what the crap. The guy gave a better performance than anybody could give in the world series. Gets traded to the Mariners. That is why I'm saying why. Why the Phillies? If I were Lee which I'm not of course, but wouldn't you be bitter to the Phillies. Everything he gave them wasn't enough? If I were him I would want to face them and beat them in a world series. Why would you wanna team with a guy they thought was better than you after that stellar performance. Money wasn't a factor in his decision. Well at least I figure not. The only thing that really makes since in this is the only reason he chose to go to the Phillies is because of the pressure. Being a winner in New York is tough. I mean A-Rod was booed by fans for many occasions until he led the team to a world series. Took the team 6 or 7 years to accomplish. Texas team just falls on his shoulders. He was the man there. I mean that is it. It was the pressure. He didn't want all of that. It is understandable.....some players feed off pressure. Obviously he doesn't......good luck to Lee in his future. Did he make the right decision? Who knows what the future holds for the Phillies. I expect playoff runs oh with that rotation. Surprised??SurprisedDon't be.......STAY JEALOUS!!!Cool

Is A.I. a hall of famer?

I made a blog about a week ago titled "Goodbye to AI". To say a possible goodbye to my first favorite player. Usually when you first start watching something you'll always say that was the best. AI indeed to me was on of the best players last decade. Stuck by him through it all. I was upset to see his career go down like it has. He officially signed with a Turkish team. 1st year I know for sure he can't opt to play for an NBA team if a team would become interested. In any case I stuck by AI his whole career. He was my favorite when I first started watching NBA. He was great to watch. Rooted for the 76ers til they traded him away. I was very angry over it. Couldn't believe they did that so I rooted for him. He was the only reason I rooted for the 76ers anyways. He was exciting to watch and different. He went to the Piston I rooted for the Pistons and so on. In any case, lets say his career in the NBA was over would you nominate him or vote for him to go to the hall of fame?

Goodbye to A.I.

I believe the first time on a regular basis I watched basketball was in the early 2000s or some time around there. During that time their were a lot of great players in the NBA that made a huge impact on several different teams. KG in Minnesota, Shaq in LA, Duncan in SA, T-MAC in Orlando, and AI in Philly.

I was young when I first started watching the NBA. My friend got me hooked after playing video games at his house. Before that it was all about cartoons and pro wrestling on Mondays. AI to me was the most exciting player to watch. My favorite when I first started watching. He was a different kind of player that not many ever saw play that good before at his size and continue to lead his team to victory. He played with heart, speed, and passion for the game. He was small, but he could score 30 a night. Has some scoring titles to show for it along with an MVP award.

All the announcers would praise him about his ability to score with his size. Some mention why hasn't his body broken down. He led the NBA minutes for several years. I stuck by AI throughout his career. Including MJ's last game vs the 76ers.....friend asked me who I wanted to win cuz it didn't matter who won cuz his team was in the playoffs and this was MJ's last game. He said he wanted MJ to win. I said I'm sticking with AI. 76ers did in fact win the ball game. Didn't win a championship throughout his years.

76ers was my favorite team for all the years watching the NBA til they traded Iverson. I couldn't believe they did that. He was the best player on the team and all. I went on to root for the Nuggets in the West. It didn't work out there even though Iverson and Melo were 2 of the top 4 scorers in the NBA they were the worst defensive team in the league. They were so undersized. Didn't like Anthony Carter playing point cuz he wasn't even 6FT tall. Than they traded their best defensive player Camby. Iverson voiced his unhappiness because that was their best defensive player and they were the worst defensive team in the league.

Later Iverson was traded to the Pistons which to many folks believe was the start of the downfall for him. I thought it was a great oppurtunity for him to win the championship at the time. Pistons were a very good team up til than with Rip Hamilton, Prince, Rasheed was still there. Some folks believe he was set up to fail from there cuz he was on the last year of his contract and AI nor most of the players were happy with the situation. Rip sat on the bench and well he went to FA....downhill from there.

Memphis signed him and was later released cuz his frustration of not starting. He wanted to play. Wasn't satisfied with the playing time. He signed back where his home was in Philly. Was very happy for him.....in the middle of the season AI left the team due to family issues. Never returned......sad to see him not getting signed this summer. I think he still has play left in him. Heck he is worth 1 or 2 million. I would have been happy to see him play with Orlando on the bench. He could have brought more great things to the team than Duhon or Malik Allen. He could have brought in his scoring ability late in the 4th. Carter could have started at the 3 spot. I don't know, but now he is on a team in Turkey. He can't opt to go to the NBA during at least the first year.

In the end, AI will always be remembered in the hearts of all his fans. I know I will never forget him. Critics would whine about him getting voted in the all-star game saying he didn't deserve to be in it. Fans just loved to see him play as did I. I voted for him every year...I didn't care for the stats. Fans decide the starters. No one wants to see Chris Kaman play. They want to see AI play!! I hope one day he will play in the NBA once again. Whether he does or does not he will always be remembered. In my opinion he was definately one of the top 5 players of the last decade. I wish him well going forward. I hope this isn't the last goodbyes. We will miss you AI. Allen Iverson thanks for the great memories. You are one of the best to ever play the game.
