Why Dwight to the Nets? Nash to Orlando?

You sit back watching Orlando Magic play and you get shots of Otis Smith watching the game. I think to myself, what the hell is he thinking? Orlando is playing in the mids of the Eastern Conference like last year. No real improvement at all. Why is he sitting on his hands not making any moves to try to improve this basketball team? Does he want Dwight to return? Is the reason he isn't considering trading Nelson is simply because he is tight with Dwight believing he will lure him to return? I'm pretty certain that Dwight doesn't want to play with Nelson any longer when you hear about him wanting to go play with D-Will in New Jersey.

Another thing I don't understand is Dwight's top team to go to is New Jersey. Out of all the teams in the NBA you can choose, you want to go to New Jersey? The same team that was beaten by Orlando  by about 20 points. Wouldn't doubt it if Orlando could beat the Nets without Dwight on the floor. The team is 2-8 currently as the 2nd worst team in the Eastern Conference only above the Wizards. If Dwight wants to win a championship, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

If someone asked me what Orlando needed....I would say a point guard who can make players around him better. Dish assists and be a solid scoring option when he is needed. Who fits that bill? Chris Paul was obviously my first choice, but no way Orlando can get him now with him in LA. Why not get Steve Nash? Why Nash or CP3? They were in bad situations where they are. Neither can win a championship if they want to. All PHX fans want Nash to go to a different team to compete for an NBA championship. I say why not take a risk? Hell if you must, try to get Grant Hill back in an Orlando uniform for old time sakes to make Nash feel more comfortable.

My proposed trade:
Nash, Grant Hill, and Channing Frye-Some may ask why these 3 players? Orlando will probably need a power forward in return if they give up a guy like Ryan Anderson who in my opinion is probably the 2nd best player on the team right now. Frye can hit 3s as well. Of course Hill for reunion purposes and Nash for obvious reasons.

Ryan Anderson, Jameer Nelson, 1 or 2 1st rounders, and if that ain't enough....give them whomever they want besides Dwight Howard. I doubt they would want Turk back o. As long as Nash comes to Orlando, I could care less who comes with him or who doesn't. Otis has got to do something. I figure he thinks Dwight will return. LOL!

What is wrong with Otis Smith?

For those of you who may not know who Otis Smith is.....he is the GM of the Orlando Magic. He runs the team of who comes in and out of the team. In any case, of all the moves he could have made.....Big Baby for Brandon Bass? Are you kidding me? You had how long to figure out how to keep Howard around with various moves and this is the best you can do? Take in a player who is nothing more than a bench player who is now overpaid. Bass was a nice trade asset to use to get some good players around Dwight Howard. Instead you trade a young stud away for an overpaid bench player? Why not trade Dwight Howard for Scalabrine while you are at it? Why not trade Nelson and whoever for a point guard like Steve Nash who wants to compete for a championship? He is great offenisvely and solid pick and roll player. Why not? I mean....I can think of a lot better scenarios than crappy deals that will hurt the Magic in the long run.

Rondo no longer a top 5 pg? IMO he isn't.....

I've defended Rondo big time because of his defense, passing skills, ect. At this point, after making top 5 by each position. He is #6 on my list due to his poor offense. It has got to improve. Here is my list of top 5 pgs right now:

1.CP3-best point guard in the game for the last couple of years. Defense is solid, passing is great, and offense is also a good asset. He is the complete package.
2.Derrick Rose-He is probably the best scoring point guard in the game today. Defense really doesn't help him all that much. That is something he needs to improve on along with getting his teammates involved offensively. That is one of the main reasons why he isn't the best today.
3.Westbrook-Some folks may think he is too high on my list, but I could argue that he is just as good as Rose. Not only offensively, but passing as well. During the regular season the guy avg over 8 assists per game along with a nice scoring total. Any of these top 3 guards I'd love to see in Orlando next season. The toughest part for Westbrook is his contract salary is only 4 million. I doubt Thunder would part ways. Rose is reigning MVP and the star of the Bulls. No way Bulls trade him for anybody other than Howard on the Magic. CP3 is on a team ran by the NBA.
4.D-Will-Can score 20 and get his teammates involved. The guy isn't that great defensively, but is a great point guard. Hopefully for Jersey he will stick around. Write it down now!! Kevin Love will be a member of the New Jersey Nets after next season.
5.Steve Nash-This may surprise some or it may not. Nash has been one of the best point guards for a fairly long time in the NBA. Two NBA MVPs to prove it. He still has it. Offense is still solid and is one of the best passers in the game.

Agree or disagree? Where does Rondo rank on your point guard list?

26 days remain til the trade deadline..Melo trade

A lot of talk has been about Melo trades? I can honestly state now I doubt Melo will be traded as of now. It seems as if all the talk is done. I doubt the Nuggets will get as much as they would have from the Nets. Which in my opinion was way too much for Melo what they were asking for. Anybody think Melo will be traded? If so than to which team?

Richard Hamilton aka Rip is also rumored to be traded somewhere. He wants out. I have no idea about the desination he will be going. Pistons were apart of the Nets trade and Rip was heading to New Jersey til the trade talks immediately stopped.

Any other guys rumored to be traded I didn't mention? LOL! All of two guys.

Steve Nash has been rumored, but it is clear that they have no intention of trading a soon to be 38 year old.

I think the 76ers should trade Iggy sooner rather than later.

Granger is also rumored, but again who knows?

Anybody got any updates? Will Melo be traded?

West conference playoff seed predictions 2010-11

Shoulda did this sooner, but really didn't have the time. In any case here is my 2010-11 Western Conference playoff seed predictions!!

1.LA Lakers-Best bench and arguably the best starting five in the league. They are more motivated than ever to make history. 12 NBA titles for Phil Jackson along with a 4th three peat of his coaching career. Kobe going for his sixth ring to tie in some fans opinions the best player to ever play the game Michael Jordan. LA Lakers to tie with most NBA championships won by a team with Boston at 17. So much history not to bank the number 1 seed. They are playing too well right now without Kobe being 100%. Which more than not now days he is injured. Bynum 100% won't matter!

2.OKC Thunder-To me the biggest threat to the reigning NBA champs to get back to the Finals. With Durant being consistant along with being so young I figure this team will be a force in the West and in the NBA years to come after Kobe hangs up his sneakers. The team plays some great defense and they are so unselfish. Maybe because they are young team, but I see great things with this team. I predict they face LA no matter if they are number 2 sometime in the playoffs.

3.New Orleans Hornets-I wouldn't have predicted them to be this high in my predictions til I saw them play....I did predict playoffs o on some post before the season began. If Paul is healthy I don't see why not. Okafor has got to stay consistant and play at the high level he has thus far in the season. Very impressed by his play thus far. Paul is my pick for MVP. Will he be in NO next year? It probably depends on their success in the playoffs.

4.Phoenix Suns-Very good ball team despite the departure of Amare. With Steve Nash playing at the high level as he is year after year I think they have a good chance of giving the Lakers a run like they did last year. Don't think they will knock them out of the playoffs, but will certainly make it a series.

5.SA Spurs-the team may be old, but they have the experience in the playoffs and winning championships. Jefferson acquistion didn't work out as well as one thought. In any case they are still a great basketball team that will have some success in the playoffs. Staying healthy will be key for this team. It could hurt their seed, but they are no push over by any means.

6.Dallas Mavericks-I think they are a bit over-rated. They were the top pick to upset the Lakers last season and of course it didn't happen. Don't think they will make a run in the playoffs. I rather believe they will end up with a disappointing season.

7.Portland Trailblazers-Very good ball team with Roy leading the way. Camby stays healthy I don't see why they can't make the playoffs. Like this young fast paced team.

8.Golden State Warriors-The surprise team to make the playoffs!! Curry and Ellis is a good combo. I figure Melo will be traded and an injury to a Jazz player will end their playoff chances. That is why Warriors will make the playoffs.

That is my 2010-11 Western Conference playoff seed predictions!! What are your predictions?
