Ravens vs Steelers divisional playoff preview

Ravens vs Steelers......Steelers vs Ravens.......how can I describe this? Intense, blood hungry, smashmouth, best rivalry in football game!! Two of the top 3 football teams in the NFL today!! They will battle in Pittsburgh on Heinz Field. I along with everyone are ready for this football game. We always are when we see that matchup coming. This will be an emotional football game for both teams. Both battling to be the absolute best. PERIOD!! That Manning/Brady rivalry doesn't thrill me as much as the football games I have saw between the Ravens and the Steelers. They've had some classics.

Going into the football game the Ravens blew out the Chiefs. I'm somewhat surprised by it and some way I'm not as well. I didn't see that me turnovers happening. The Ravens are ready to play. They looked like a whole different football team when they were at Arrowhead. I was rooting for the Chiefs and it was hard to watch. Chiefs were one of the best at not giving up the football. Obviously the reason is because they didn't face a football team like the Ravens. They looked like they were making a statement. A statement to all football teams and that is don't sleep on them. They are no pushover by any means. The game against Pittsburgh Saturday may be the best matchup yet. Both teams ended the season with identical records. Steelers won the division due to tiebreaker of division record.

Pittsburgh Steelers ended the season with a blowout win over the Cleveland Browns. At half time the game was over. Pittsburgh made a bit of a statement as well. They clinched the division and home field. Much needed bye week for Pittsburgh to get healthy. No word yet if Aaron Smith will be playing in the ball game. I figure Polamalu will be playing in the football game. In any case both teams last wins were statements. Both teams looked their best vs their opponents. It will for sure be the game of the week.

As a Steelers fan of course I'm picking Pittsburgh. I think they are better defensively and offensively. The keys to victory for Pittsburgh is as follows: Defense don't allow Ravens to have a ground game. If they do that than they will do ok as long as they don't give them free yards meaning penalties. I think the defense can handle Flacco. Ravens side: Be in Roethlisberger's face all game long. Figure their D can handle the rush game unfortunately. Offensively the Steelers would like to have an effective rushing game. Protect Roethlisberger and give him time to throw the football. Do that than I'm certain the Steelers will win the football game. Ravens offensively....running game wouldn't hurt vs the Steelers. If they get a running game and win the battle of time of possession that will give them their best chance to win the football game.

Again I'm picking the Steelers in this one. Should be a classic. Surprised??SurprisedDon't be........STAY JEALOUS!!Cool

Jets vs Colts wildcard playoff preview

Last season the Colts met the New York Jets and they defeated them. Since than they are far different football teams. A lot has changed in the last year. Colts are sitting their players not going for the undefeated streak. Now they are battling in the final week to win their division. Most of it is due to injuries. Jets are a different team as well. No Thomas Jones and their running game isn't looking to good. LT started out well, but he isn't the same. Been well documented that the Colts defense isn't exactly great vs the run. Showed vs Arian Foster. LOL! Jets passing game in my opinion isn't that much improved they still struggle. Win close games o which is a plus I suppose.

I give Colts the edge because of the playoff experience. Garcon will be a factor in this football game. He will have to step up like he did last season when Reggie Wayne was contained by Revis. Colts actually have a running game. At least in the last 3 games. They struggled to defeat the Titans which is a negative way to end their season. Still in the playoffs which is a plus. The Colts are at Indy which is a huge plus. Home field will really be an advantage in this football game.

The Jets coming into the season with all the talk. Media favorites in the preseason. Not exactly now. I wouldn't even say the Jets are better than they were last season by much cuz of the running game struggles. Not much improved in the passing game. Sanchez still struggles and defense just saves the day which is what some folks are expecting. The matchup will indeed be between the pass defense of the Jets and the Colts passing offense led by Peyton Manning. He isn't one of the best of the games for nothing. It is time to put or shut up for the Jets. If they win this football game I will be surprised somewhat. This will be a statement game for them.

Colts are the favorites going in obviously. They are my pick as well. If Jets wanna win this football game they have got to run the football effectively on the ground. You don't want to rely on Sanchez to save the day. Defensive side is obvious stop Peyton Manning. If they run the ball effectively they will control the clock which is one of the ways the Jags won their football game earlier this season. If colts could get the run going on offense that would be great for Manning, but if they don't Garcon will have to step up which will be one of the key players in this football game. Colts defense will have to control the run and force Sanchez to throw the football. I'm certain that both teams quarterbacks will throw at least one INT. This will be closer than one would think, but I'm giving the nod to the Colts. Prove me wrong Jets. Put up or shut up time. Surprised??SurprisedDon’t be...........STAY JEALOUS!!Cool

Baltimore vs KC wildcard playoff preview

Kansas City Chiefs is the surprise team of the year. Of course it is an opinion. KC as we all know is led by the running game. Their duo of Thomas Jones and Charles. Both have had great seasons. Both have proved a lot especially Jones to the Jets. Some believed Jones was a product of the Jets offensive line. Obviously that is false. Jets are struggling without him this year.

Matt Cassel and Bowe have been hitting strides this season. Well at least to end their season. First half wasn't too pretty. Big win over the Chargers to open was great. Special teams is also good for the Chiefs. Their offense will be the factor in this football game. Can their ground game do well vs the Baltimore Ravens? Browns did it earlier in the season, but didn't do it the 2nd time around. I think their is a chance. This football game in my opinion will be closer than one would think. Flacco didn't have that breakout season everyone predicted him to have. He is definately the future of the franchise though. They arn't a pass first football team. If the Chiefs can control the run I think they have a good chance to win this football game.

This will be a low scoring football game. Not expecting more than 20 points by either team. Could be wrong, but I expect both offenses to struggle in the passing game. I'm expecting an INT thrown by both quarterbacks. Hint:Ed Reed will catch one. LOL! At least that is what I expect. Defenses to have a great day. In the end Baltimore will win this football game by 3-10 points. No more than 10. Ravens defense struggles in the 4th. That is something to watch for. Surprised??SurprisedDon't be.....STAY JEALOUS!!Cool

AFC playoff predictions/breakdown

I did an NFC already. I wasn't gonna do this, but I decided to do it anyways despite the critics. Who will represent the AFC in the Super Bowl? Been pretty accurate these last few years. Well at least not my preseason predictions, but than again whose is?

I'll state why or why not I'm picking this team to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.

Jacksonville Jaguars- Still have a shot to make the playoffs, but I'm not picking them to get in. With their starting quarterback David Garrard now on IR ending his season I highly doubt they will even win their last regular season game with Trent Edwards.

New York Jets- The media's pick coming into the season was the Jets. All the talking with the HBO show to the foot fetish. All the talking has come to an end. Now you got to prove it. New York Jets winning the Super Bowl talk all year. Now all the talking will be on the field. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Chiefs upset the Jets. I'm actually picking the Chiefs to upset the Jets. Jets offense isn't consistant enough in my opinion. Sanchez isn't great at all. Not even good. LOL! Running game is lost. Defense wouldn't be able to handle an offense like the Colts or Patriots. I doubt they will represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. Again prove me wrong.

Baltimore Ravens-To me the Baltimore Ravens are one of the most under-rated football teams in the league. Yes they were one of the media's so-called picked, but they don't get the respect they deserve. They are a great football team. Great defense! Offense will need to step up for them to get to the Super Bowl. I don't think their passing game is as good as one thought. Running game was thrown out of the window where Rice wasn't getting his carry's. I think their offense will cost their team a chance to be in the Super Bowl. It will come down to the passing game in the end. Ravens could definately surprise us though. They are in my opinion the 3rd best team in the league right now.

Indianapolis Colts-I like their chances of making the playoffs and winning their division. Despite the teams struggles on offense due to injuries I think they are still a bit of a force in the AFC. They would give the Pats a battle if they were to face again. Just an opinion of course. I think the injuries will haunt them and lead them out of the playoffs.

Kansas City Chiefs-Some people would call this team a darkhorse. This team surprised us all. New coaching staff really helped revive this franchise. Matt Cassel has done a great job at quarterback. The running game is the true leader of this football team o. Charles along with Thomas Jones have made a force in that department. That is one of the reasons why I like them to take down the Jets. They are pretty good on special teams as well. Not that bad in the passing game either. I like their chances. Wouldn't be surprised if they did lose in the wildcard round like everyone expect. Wouldn't be surprised if they won in the wildcard round either. Great season o.

Pittsburgh Steelers-One of the reasons I wasn't gonna create one of these for the AFC because I would be criticized cuz of my biased towards my favorite football team the Pittsburgh Steelers. I like their chances to be honest. To me they are one of the top 2 teams in the league right now. Best defense in the league always helps come playoff time. Great wideouts with one emerging Mike Wallace. Running game is pretty good. Mendenhall is in the top 10 in that category. I think the Steelers will represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. They have all the key components to get it done.

New England Patriots-Media's pick, majority of everyones pick. Of course they have a strong passing game. Under-rated defense among other qualities. Have a great quarterback who more likely than not will be named the MVP this year. They have one of the most praised head coaches in the NFL on their side as well along with home field advantage. You gotta think with all those advantages you gotta pick this football team. Any team can win on any given day. That's why we play the game. That's why I'm not picking the Patriots.

This is my breakdown of all of the AFC teams. Why and why not I pick them. So on and so forth. Tell me what ya think. Steelers will represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.

KC wins AFC West title

All I gotta give is a congrats here. It is well deserve and I am proud of the Chiefs. Getting the coaching staff to shift this team to a success from a traditional 4-12 record. It at least felt that way.

It is nice to see new teams in the playoffs other than same old teams such as the Chargers. Nice to see them lose to be honest. I never thought they were a top 5 team in the NFL, but some people thought otherwise. I didn't believe the Chargers wouldn't be in the playoffs this year oh which is good. Dwayne Bowe has played great as a receiver this year. Cassel improved his game. Running game is what it is all about. Jones and Charles. They both played great seasons. Congrats to their keys on offense.

Congrats on a great year.
