Objectivity #3: Bill Belichick is a genius?

It bugs the crap out of me to see all praise given to one guy and receive no criticism. Media has blinded people to believe what they want you to believe. Some people are brain washed into believing crazy things such as Germans believing Jews are the reason they lost WW1, Rivers being an elite quarterback, Bill Belichick being a genius, and so on. It is time to look at both sides of the equation. Look at it objectively rather than be biased about it. I have my sources for the info I use in my posts. The purpose is to show both sides of an equation. Not just look at it one side, but to look at it in both sides of the equation.

Belichick is regarded as a genius around the NFL world. Is he really though? The man is known for defense being his specialty, but since that time he has proven otherwise. Worst defense in the league currently in my opinion speaks volumes. The man is regarded as a genius for what reason? Is it because he wins football games like every other coach in the NFL? Is it because of spygate? I don't get it at all.

It definately can't be because his drafting in his tenure at New England. I found this via google to recap his NEs drafting failures: http://www.sportsuntapped.com/is-bi
ll-belichick-really-a-draft-genius-
18193/
Names you never even heard of and half of them that did make a bit of a name for themselves like Maroney and Meriweather are big busts. When was the last time the man drafted a solid running back or wide receiver for his offense in the earlier years when Pat fans claim Brady had no name receivers. Whose fault is it that they are no name receivers? Bill's play calling, Brady, and expert Bill's drafting skills. The man stocks up like 10 draft picks a year and leave with maybe 1-3 good players out of the draft to show for it. That is terrible in my eyes anyway.

The only way Brady did have good receivers was because they went out and traded for them. Sign undrafted rookie running back like Woodhead....he gets all kinds of praise for. 1.Woodhead isn't a every down back. 2.Wouldn't it had looked better if he actually drafted the guy rather than having to get him from FA? 3.The guy isn't a star by anyones imagination. Why should the guy be receiving praise for adding a guy like Woodhead who isn't even good enough to start for NE? A long with all the draft failures he has had like 7 busts each and every year. Are you folks who call him a genius blinded or something? Some Pat fans thought Bill should receive praise for trading a former 1st round pick by Belichick away for a 4th rounder last year. Why should he receive praise for a trading away a huge bust in the first round? It isn't like his draft success in the past is gonna prove us otherwise. LOL! It proves how foolish, biased, and how ignorant you people are who call Bill Belichick a genius. He is a genius for trading away Moss? The same guy who was in talks of having him back this year. Only reason he isn't because Moss wanted a long term contract. Look at the moves for Chad Ocho Cinco and Haynesworth. Those looked like they worked out. Everyone was wondering why they didn't go out and get a defensive lineman. WOW! Genius moves by Bill is proving me right.

Come on now....let us not be fools here. We all know he isn't a genius. We can stop with all the hype and praise for the man. Pats havn't been the same since the defense has been gone. That trade with the Raiders last season looked good as well. Seymour still looks sharp.....Vrabel move made him look smart as well. LOL! Surprised??SurprisedDon't be.....STAY JEALOUS!!Cool

Deserved praise and criticism week 6 2011

This series was created for the purpose of showing my critics I give praise to other football teams. I refused from the beginning to not have the Steelers part of this series because of being criticized for being a homer. I'll stick with that through out. Time to give praise and critic other football teams besides my favorite.

Deserved:

1.Falcons-I admit, I have been very hard on the Falcons which is why they are the first team on the list. They beat the Panthers by my surprise. LOL! Congrats!

2.Eagles-Feel that I had to put them on here this week after snapping that 4 game skid. Beating a division rival is a plus for any football team. Now they just gotta get those Ws from here on in cuz a playoff appearance is unlikely otherwise. Congrats!

3.Oakland keeps winning-I learned about this today that Campbell will miss the entire season. Despite getting injured vs the Browns yesterday, they picked up the win. Wondering if they will add a qb or something instead of going with Boller. Orton may be available. One thing you can't take away from the Raiders, they are still unbeaten in the AFC West since last year which is a huge plus. Campbell led Raiders still owns the division til proven otherwise.

4.Bucs-victory over the Saints is huge. I believe they are now in 1st place of their division. Wonder if it would have turned out differently if Payton wasn't knocked down. In any case, praise is well deserved!!

5.Pats D-I know everyone bashes the defense week after week saying the Pats have the worst defense in the league. I personally think their defense is pretty good when you look at the amount of turnovers the defense racks up every week. I think that is a positive that a lot of defenses would like to have. They've forced like a turnover or more in every game. Praise is deserved for holding Cowboys to only 16 points after all those turnovers on the Pats side of the football field. Praise is deserved!!

*Bonus: 49ers-defeated the Lions!! First time it has been done since December which is impressive. The reason this is a bonus is simply because 49ers are on criticism as well.

Criticism:

1.Little Jimmy-You got hops bro! LOL! Jumping in the air like you have won a Super Bowl or something. It amazes me that some folks actually tried defending this guy for his lack of sportsmanship.  Good win regardless.....

2.Rams-Everyone including myself crowned them the AFC West champs coming into this year. They were favorites to beat the Seahawks last year to win the division. Now they start 0-5 record. Not good at all, but I hope they can pick up some wins sooner rather than later. I doubt they will be able to take the AFC West. No playoffs in St.Louis this year.

3.Vikings-After picking up a win last week, they get demolished by a division opponent. Certainly doesn't look good for the Vikings this year or McNabb. Ponder replaced him in the game after chants of "we want Ponder!" UFL may be calling for McNabb. Wonder if the Jets would take him in as a backup for Sanchez?

4.Brandon Marshall-I know the game hasn't been played yet, but to come out and say that he is gonna try to get ejected by starting a fight or kicking the football in the stands is idiotic. No wonder the Dolphins are terrible this year. I doubt the Jets leave Monday Night with a 4 loss streak intact.

5.Rex Grossman-4 picks and no TDs along with terrible accuracy forced Beck to go in the football game. Terrible day on the ground surprisingly from the Redskins. 28 yards on the ground?? There goes Grossman's job along with playoff hopes possibly. Wouldn't it be terrible for the Skins to end up back at the bottom of the division after that start?

*Chad Johnson aka Ocho Cinco-With all the media hype surrounding the genius move made by Belichick. Low risk and high reward situation. Ocho was brought in to be that deep threat Pats missed in the playoffs. He was suppose to replace Moss. He hasn't been able to make an impact at all "positively". Sad thing is that Haynesworth of all guys made a bigger impact to this football team this year. No receptions for Ocho Cinco this week. What is wrong with him that he can't understand the playbook? Chad.....YOU ARE KISSING THE BABY!!

Objectivity #2: Philip Rivers=Elite QB?

It bugs the crap out of me to see all praise given to one guy and receive no criticism. Media has blinded people to believe what they want you to believe. Some people are brain washed into believing crazy things such as Germans believing Jews are the reason they lost WW1, Rivers being an elite quarterback, Bill Belichick being a genius, and so on. It is time to look at both sides of the equation. Look at it objectively rather than be biased about it. I have my sources for the info I use in my posts. The purpose is to show both sides of an equation. Not just look at it one side, but to look at it in both sides of the equation.

How does one define an elite quarterback? That is a question many folks don't answer. When they do they simply judge by one criteria as to why a quarterback is elite. Saying they must have great "individual #s", you have to win football games, you have to be clutch, and you gotta lead your team to a Super Bowl. Why judge a qb by one of those criterias? Why not be objective and judge them by all those? I've been criticized by various people claiming "I hate Philip Rivers". That isn't true at all. I do dislike players who receives far more credit than they deserve when their team wins and receive no criticism for when they lose. What is wrong with that? Why be biased towards one player? Why not be objective about these things? I know a lot of people will try to claim that I'm biased towards Ben, but I have blamed Ben for losses in the past. He has received it numerous times from me, but enough of that.

The fact of the matter is, Rivers receives far too much credit than he deserves. Failure in the playoffs in the past is blamed on his defense, special teams, and supporting cast. For the folks who love the #s Rivers puts up in the regular season.....why do you ignore his stats in the playoffs? As far as failures in the regular season goes aka 2010. #1 defense is the league according to Charger fans isn't enough. Rivers has been given oppurtunity after oppurtunity to get the job done late in the 4th quarter. Skip Bayless would call it having the clutch gene. That is one of the main flaws Rivers has in his game that keeps him from being an elite qb in my opinion. That along with his playoff performance he puts up.

Chances to win KC game to open the season, Raiders game where he put up good #s, but fumbles the game winning TD. Cincy game lose by 2 TDs and one of those TD came after an interception that started Bengals offense at the 21 to end the 3rd quarter. Turns over on bounds in the 4th quarter to again, let the Bengals get another TD on the  26 yard line. I could go on as to why Rivers deserves as much if not the majority of the blame for the Chargers failures to make the postseason in 2010.

Why is Rivers not elite? Fails time and time again in the 4th quarter and in the playoffs where his team really needs him. I don't care what #s he puts up....if you can't lead your team when his team needs him.....he isn't in that elite class in my opinion. It is an objective opinion here. There are 5 quarterbacks in this league who has all the qualities I identified as an elite quarterback: Brady, Roethlisberger, Rodgers, Brees, and Manning. They all win, they all put up the stats, lead their teams to comebacks wins and Super Bowl victories. No one can argue that being objective. It is good to tell it like it is every now and again. I know some folks will disagree with me and bash me for this post. Fact is.....truth hurts. Surprised??SurprisedDon't be.....STAY JEALOUS!!Cool

Jaguars @ Pittsburgh week 6 2011 preview

I had no idea about the Jags defense, so I looked up rankings. 8 in total yards and 11 in ppg. I think these rankings this early shouldn't be judged like....wow! The rankings are certainly based on the type of offenses they have faced such as teams like Titans and whoever else. LOL!Titans had one of the best defenses in the league, but Steelers still were solid both in the air and on the ground.

I am confident Steelers will pick up a win this week being at home again. Great fans getting behind them certainly energizes them to play better. The road is a different story of course. Certainly hope that changes later in the season. I think the Steelers will win by more than one TD to be honest. Wouldn't doubt if it is more than that. I feel the Jags offense stinks other than MJD. I'm sure the D will do a solid job against him like they did vs CJ2k. Gabbert isn't an accurate qb and I feel Steelers will come out of this with more than one turnover. That is one of the reasons I feel Pittsburgh will win this football game.

I'm wondering about how the running game will do this week. Not because the defense, but because Mendenhall situation where backups played very well. I didn't expect that performance out of the offensive line last week, but loved it. Hope the performance continues especially against Baltimore. I think Mendenhall's performance needs to be good if he starts. If not, certainly could see him benched sooner than later.

Hampton is out this week I believe with another player. Forget who it was, but Hoke did play well. Very impressed by him, Heyward, and so on. Woodley made the big plays after getting the big change. Hope it continues!! Expectation: Steelers 20 something Jags 10.

Deserved praise and criticism week 5 2011

This series was created for the purpose of showing my critics I give praise to other football teams. I refused from the beginning to not have the Steelers part of this series because of being criticized for being a homer. I'll stick with that through out. Time to give praise and critic other football teams besides my favorite.

Praise

1.Al Davis/Raiders
-I was never a big fan of the Raiders. Not a big fan of any players on their football teams(exception McFadden). I was proud of the Raiders for pulling out that huge win for Al. I do wish the team well going forward. I want the Raiders to win the division this year for Al Davis. The story would just be tremendous. My bias towards rooting for Tebow to do well will not hurt the Raiders. Still proud to say the Raiders are undefeated in division play since Campbell came in. Prove them wrong!! RIP Al Davis

2.TEBOW TIME!!-I told you all Kyle Orton was over-rated. People bash Tebow for his accuracy when Orton is still one of the worst in the league. He lost his job and Tebow almost made Rivers have a heart attack. Tebow came in and led that football team. The sounds in that stadium was tremendous. An atmosphere, he created by the confidence he brought in with him. It would have been awesome to see that comeback win, but it didn't happen unfortunately!! Happy for Tebow and hope he proves the doubters wrong.

3.Vikings/All Day-Got their first win of the season and kept the lead!! Cards keep proving me right.

4.Saints/Brees/Panthers-It seems I have the Panthers on here every week. I am stunned by the way they have kept competitive in ball games. Deserve a lot of credit for getting the lead vs the Saints. I have been very hard on Brees and the Saints. Way more hate than they deserve. Saint fans and Brees, I apoligize. He truly is an elite quarterback in this league and I wish Brees and the Saints well going forward. I felt it needed to be said and I have felt this way since the game where I rooted for Brees and the Saints to win. I've been way too harsh towards the organization and the Saints. I said NFC Champs before the season began. Hope you prove me right! Again, I apoligize!

5.Packers/Lions-Undefeated through 5 weeks. I know both were expected to play well, but they deserve a ton of credit for their teams performance thus far. Calvin Johnson is currently my pick to win the MVP award with Rodgers a close 2nd. Both have played fantastic. Praise is well deserved!!

*Bonus: Seahawks-I think this was deserved after their performance vs the Giants. Know they won't be on here that often if they live up to my expectations. Congrats on the upset and huge victory.

Criticism

1.Bucs-What happened? 3-48 loss to the 49ers. I had Bucs as the last team eliminated to miss the playoffs. Maybe it was the schedule. It seems like when they don't run the football effectively, the team struggles. I think Freeman needs better weapons. Picking the Saints to win the AFC South looks good right now! Again....thank you Falcons for keep proving me right!!

2.Jags-What is up with that? You have the lead and lose it? C'mon man!! Now Bengals look like they may start 5-2!! I bet Carson Palmer is happy!!

3.Colts lose lead-24-7 was when I said, Colts are gonna get their first victory. 28-24 was the final score....What happened? Chiefs ground game is non-existant. All they have is a passing game right now. I can't believe it! Colts will not have the worst record in the league o!!

4.Matt Schaub-With Texans being good they are getting more exposure nationally. That isn't good for Schaub because he is nothing, but a product of AJ and Arian Foster. He isn't an elite quarterback. He is worse than Romo and Rivers!!

5.Vick-Last season, I was rooting for Vick to be successful. He was, but this year.....he isn't looking too good. Dream Team comment probably killed this football team. I knew they would struggle early due to new coaches, but.....they have got to play better in all phases. It feels like in Philly they have too many personalities to deal with. VY obviously, Jackson wanting his pay check, and player playing with far more confidence. I don't know what it is, but they can't stop the run with those linebackers. That with the interception and turnovers. I had Eagles get the final wildcard spot with Lions/Packers getting #5.It looks if the playoff door is closing on the Eagles quickly. They gotta step it up!!

Titans @ Pittsburgh week 5 2011

Not really a lot of hype going into this game. No clear cut favorite which is good. I think it will be a close game. Steelers are favored 3.5 I believe to win this particular matchup.

Titans are 3-1 and they have a new quarterback in Matt Hasselback who has played particularly well in my opinion. Titans do have a history with the Steelers. As I recall stomping on the terrible towel in 2008. Yet, I'm never probably gonna forgive them for. CJ2k isn't back yet, but it could be due to lack of playing time because of contract negotiations. No deep threat named Kenny Britt to worry about which is a plus. Titans are surprisingly 3-1. The loss being to the Jags of all teams. I'm very impressed by the team and it wouldn't surprise me if they win the AFC South this year. Not picking them though....keep that in my mind.

Steelers coming off a tough loss to the Texans last week. Every Steeler fan and player is frustrated right now. I heard a reporter state 8 starters are on the injury report for the Pittsburgh Steelers this week names include: Ben Roethlisberger, James Harrison, Rashard Mendenhall, and others. I'm hoping a running game gets going early so the offense won't have to depend on Ben with him being hurt. Defense hasn't lived up to the hype, but I think this month will spark the Steelers. A lot lighter of a schedule for Pittsburgh with 3 home games this month. 1 game Pittsburgh played at home this season and it was a shutout. Hopefully, they can do the same this week vs the Titans, but I'm not expecting it. Max Starks being back should help the offensive line out. Critical thing for Steelers defense to do is stop allowing those long drives. Long drives were caused by broken tackles....something you don't see from them. I hope someone steps up defensively. It felt like last week, Polamalu was doing it all. Hopefully the defense can bounce back this week.

Don't know much about Titans defense, but history tells me they are good at stopping the run. That side of the ball Steelers offense vs Titans defense doesn't concern me. The matchup I'm worried about this week is Steelers defense vs Titans offense. They got some speedy guys out there that should be able to beat Steelers linebackers. Hopefully play calling will be much better this week. Don't mean to take a shot there, but having them blitz one side which caused huge runs stunk last week. Hopefully a home atmosphere will comfort Steeler players so they can lick their wounds. Timmons and Foote will be starting this week. I feel each will be able to get the job done here. I personally am expecting no less than 3 wins this month. Steelers need this football game a lot more than the Titans. Hopefully they will get the job done. Do what they have been known to do......stop the run!

I expect a Steelers win in a close game. I expect no more than 24 points by either team. Wouldn't be surprised if the game ended 10-13. As long as Steelers get the W, I don't care. I'll take it!! Hopefully the crowd will rally around them and drive some motivation into this core of guys to play better. Especially on the defensive side of the football!!

Objectivity #1: Peyton Manning=Colts??

What a controversial way to start a weekly series, huh? It bugs the crap out of me to see all praise given to one guy and receive no criticism. Media has blinded people to believe what they want you to believe. Some people are brain washed into believing crazy things such as Rivers being an elite quarterback, Bill Belichick being a genius, and so on. It is time to look at both sides of the equation. Look at it objectively rather than be biased about it. I have my sources for the info I use in my posts.

All you hear is Peyton is the most valuable player in football today. Even calling the guy head coach/offensive coordinator in previous years. The media along with several fans believe Peyton is the Indianapolis Colts. They do and die by Peyton Manning. I still believe Peyton is a top 5 quarterback, but not top 3 even if he was playing. That is just my opinion anyways. Is Peyton Manning really the Colts football team?

I'm gonna ask you some various questions in which some of you biased fans may be able to answer. Over the years, Peyton's playoff success is criticized, but when it is....it is blamed on others rather than himself. Why is that? If he is the team and no one else contributes to the success of the team.....why are they blamed? You see fans post threads like "How many SBs would Peyton have if he had....." and "Peyton Manning is 2011 MVP". I have a problem with that. I think it is quite disrespectful to all the football players in the league who give it their all every Sunday. Yea, he is important to his football team, but same goes for other players around the league as well. What has he contributed to be called an MVP in 2011 anyways? What has he contributed to the Colts? I don't see him with a headset on, going through a playbook to help Painter or Collins, he definately isn't performing either. Why does he deserve the MVP award over guys who are much more deserving? Guys like Aaron Rodgers and Calvin Johnson are on the top of my list currently. We see him up their with the offensive coordinator on the final drive watching instead of going through plays.

Back to the subject of Peyton's playoff failures. He has no defense, running game, offensive line(his quick release is the reason the o-line looks good), and he makes receivers. I think we all remember the 3 game stretch where Peyton threw like 11 interceptions in a game last season. I stated he almost choked away the AFC South division crown. I received a response: You are an idiot to think Peyton almost choked away the division last year. Look at what he had to work with all those players on IR. If Peyton is the Colts, why does it matter who is injured? Offensive line is a good example. If his quick release blinds me thinking he has a good offensive line than injuries shouldn't effect that area. His release is quick enough to get the ball outta there. If he has no running game, why does injuries matter there? Same goes for defense. We talk about playoff failures with Colt fans and they blame it on the defense, running game, ect. Why is the blame not on the guy who receives the most praise? Can it not be Peyton's fault? I have sources(Colt fans) who tell me these ridiculous things. If Peyton is all the Colts have, why expect better performance elsewhere? If Peyton does it all when they win.....he must do the same when they lose. Am I wrong? Look at how that sounds so ridiculous. The amount of praise the guy receives in comparison to the criticism he receives.

Are you blind by the media, #s, or his past success? Do you refuse to be objective? I'm not here to talk about the best quarterbacks in the league, talk about the Steelers, and certainly not hear to talk about Ben. I want to stay on topic and talk about this particular subject.
