Wooden Preseason Top 50 Released

By Jeff Goodman

The Wooden Preseason Top 50 was released today and, for the first time, four players from one team made their list. North Carolina placed Harrison Barnes, John Henson, Kendall Marshall and Tyler Zeller - and it's difficult to argue.

Remember, freshman and transfers aren't eligible for the preseason list (which is why I prefer the Naismith list).

I had seven players on my ballot that weren't included in the following list: Kyle Casey (Harvard), Jason Clark (Georgetown), Matthew Dellavedova (Saint Mary's), Ryan Kelly (Duke), Rodney McGruder (Kansas State), Shabazz Napier (UConn) and Terrence Ross (Washington).

The players I did not include on my list were Allen Crabbe (Cal), Marcus Denmon (Missouri), Darius Johnson-Odom (Marquette), Kris Joseph (Syracuse), Khris Middleton (Texas A&M), Casper Ware (Long Beach State) and Keith Wright (Harvard).

By Gary Parrish

My colleague Jeff Goodman posted his Wooden Award Preseason Top 50 earlier today.

It omitted Missouri's Marcus Denmon and North Carolina's Tyler Zeller.

That was a mistake.

The ballot I turned in includes both of those players and 48 more.

Here's how it looks:

  • Will Barton (Memphis)
