After a tough couple of days, Tennessee began its National Signing Day by bouncing back in a big way with a commit from Cordarrelle Patterson.
Multiple reports have stated that the 6'4", 205-pound juco wide receiver from Hutchinson Community College will sign with the Vols Wednesday over offers from most of the SEC, including Georgia, Ole Miss, Auburn, and LSU. Patterson caught 61 passes for 924 yards with 15 touchdowns for Hutchinson in 2011.
Patterson is widely considered the nation's top juco prospect at the wide receiving position and should give the Vols an immediate-impact starter to balance the field opposite Da'Rick Rogers and Justin Hunter.
The Vols now have 21 recruits in a class currently ranked 20th in the CBS Sports National Signing Day Top 25, and could move up by the day's end.
