Safety Lucas Thompson picks East Carolina

Posted by Bryan Fischer

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Winter Garden (Fla.) defensive back Lucas Thompson was one of the top uncommitted players in the state of Florida and had several programs going after him late in the process but announced he was going to school somewhere a bit off the radar at the 2012 Under Armour All-American Game.

"I'm going to...," Thompson said. "East Carolina."

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Thompson was also considering South Carolina and Miami. He is ranked by Maxpreps as one of the top safeties in the class of 2012.
