Shortly before Signing Day, a New York Times report raised questions as to whether the top recruit in the class of 2011, Jadeveon Clowney, would qualify for school and get through the NCAA Clearinghouse. Tuesday night it appears we have an answer.
Tony Morrell, a recruiting analyst at South Carolina site TheBigSpur.com, tweeted that a source told him Clowney had qualified by NCAA standards. The 6-foot-6, 240-pound defensive end should be admitted to the school in June, begin summer workouts around the same time and start classes in July.
While Clowney technically must still be admitted to school, the sticking point was with the NCAA and not the school's admission's office. Either way, looks like the top recruit in the class of 2011 will indeed be terrorizing SEC quarterbacks this fall.
