Addison flips from Oklahoma State to Texas A&M

Posted by Bryan Fischer

In a move many expected, Missouri City (Texas) wide receiver Bralon Addison switched his commitment from Oklahoma State to Texas A&M over the weekend to become the Aggies' 22nd commitment.

"It feels great," he told Aggieyell.com. "When I told coach Sherman, he sounded excited."

Addison is good friends with quarterback Matt Davis and running back Trey Williams, both of whom committed to Texas A&M a few weeks ago at their spring game. The trio wanted to play together and the 5-foot-10, 185 pound Addison was comfortable enough with the school to go ahead and switch his verbal pledge.

"I told both of them and they're really excited," he said. "All three of us on the same offense? In word word--dangerous."

Addison was recently named receiver MVP of the Houston Nike Camp. While the Aggies now have a nation-leading 22 commitments in this class, the Cowboys are down to just seven.

Texas A&M adds pair of Top 100 commits

Posted by Bryan Fischer

Texas A&M added two major pieces on offense to their already terrific class of 2012 Saturday afternoon after hosting several recruits following the Aggies' Spring Game.

Spring (Texas) running back Trey Williams wasn't planning on committing this early in the process but when good friend and major quarterback recruit Matt Davis committed, the talented duo decided to give the Aggies a double dose of good news.

"Matt and I were looking to the future" Williams told AggieYell.com. "We were wanting to work together. We had talked a little bit about it."

The 5-foot-9, 170 pound Williams is another standout in-state running back A&M has managed to snag. He is ranked 51st in the country according to CBSSports/MaxPreps analyst Tom Lemming and is a very fast and effective runner who averages close to nine yards a carry in high school.

For Williams, who was already contemplating a commitment, having Davis also buy into the program at the same time made all the difference.

"I already had [a commitment] on my mind," Williams told the website. "I was always thinking about it. I can definitely see myself having fun, making plays and winning ballgames while I'm up there. Matt and I were like, 'Are you going to do it?' and the other was like 'Yeah, I'm doing to do it.' After the spring game, we told coach Sherman that we needed to talk to him. We went to his office and gave him the story."

Davis is ranked 73rd in the country according to Lemming and gives the Aggies their quarterback of the future. The 6-foot-2, 210 pound signal caller is a dual threat out of the backfield and has enough speed to be a good defensive back if he wanted to. Both players will have to change things up and learn to work together when they get to College Station after years of competing against each other.

"We had played each other in Little League," Williams said. "I played against (current Oklahoma State commit) Bralon Addison in football and basketball and Matt in basketball. It seemed like that we were always competing against each other."

The pair gives the Aggies a nation-leading 19 commitments in the class of 2012, well ahead of the pace they set last year.
