Athlete Listenbee pledges to TCU as quarterback

Posted by Bryan Fischer

TCU added another talented local athlete over the likes of in-state rivals Texas A&M and Texas Tech as Arlington (Texas) athlete Kolby Listenbee committed to the Horned Frogs over the weekend.

"I went on a visit over there and I liked it a lot," Listenbee told Scout. "The coaches there felt like my coaches and they have really good fans. It is close to home and it gives me a good opportunity."

The 5-foot-11, 170 pound Listenbee is listed as an athlete but has been playing quarterback in high school. He recently grabbed an accuracy award at the Elite 11 stop at TCU a few weeks ago and it looks like he'll be given the opportunity to continue to play the position in college.

"They are going to let me play quarterback and if that does not go as planned then they are going to give me a shot at receiver or wildcat quarterback," he told the website.

Listenbee passed for 970 yards and nine touchdowns and rushed for 1,077 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior last season. He is the ninth commitment for TCU in the class of 2012 and joins fellow quarterbacks Austin Aune and Tyler Matthews at the position.
