Catching up on a few commitments

It's been a busy few days between Media Days and a short vacation for the Eye on Recruiting blog. Because we haven't put up every commitment on the blog, here's a recap on players who have committed over the past couple of days, sorted by conference.

ACC:

7/29 Recruiting Roundup

- Interesting story on recruiting services for players.
Quarterback Faton Bauta took an unofficial visit to UCF.

Athlete Janarion Grant was one of the top performers at USF's Sling and Shoot 7-on-7 Tournament.

Miami head coach Al Golden talks a little recruiting.

 Minnesota seeks an in-state recruiting coup.

  West Virginia is hoping to close out their summer with a commitment or two out of their summer camp.

With North Carolina coach Butch Davis gone, Virginia Tech lost a recruiting thorn in their side.

Commitments:

Mississippi State added receiver Fred Brown and speedster Brandon Holloway to their class.

 Offensive lineman Joe Harris selected South Carolina over Georgia and Clemson.

 Corner Jhavon Williams will head to UConn to play ball.

 Kansas picked up quarterback Bilal Marshall from South Florida.

  Receiver D'Arthur Cowan made it official: he was going to Arkansas.

Number 18 is in for Arizona State and it's defensive end Jarvis Lewis.

7/25 Recruiting Roundup

-- Barry Sanders Jr. would be highly recruited even if he didn't have a famous father.

Offensive lineman Will Adams will choose either Georgia Tech, Louisville or Kentucky today.

They're using social media to their advantage in recruiting at UConn.

 Answering a few questions about prospects in Michigan.

 Defensive end Taiwan Johnson is trying to set up a visit to Arkansas.

 Tight end Kent Taylor enjoyed his visit to Florida for Friday Night Lights.

Commitments:

Indiana picked up a pledge from JUCO linebacker Darrius Stroud.

Mississippi State added three commitments from its recent camp.

 C.J. Moore is onboard Virginia's class of 2012.

7/23 Recruiting Roundup

- Defensive end Tyriq McCord received an invite to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

  Does Michigan have a spot for running back Dennis Norfleet?

 Receiver D’Arthur Cowan made his second trip to Arkansas.

 Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt is focused on recruiting, not what Mississippi State is doing with billboards.

 Florida State commit Marvin Bracy ran a very impressive 10.09 100-meter dash.

Commitments:

Baylor added defensive back Zack Sanchez to their class.

 Offensive tackle Adam Taraschke became Virginia Tech's 23rd commit, which gives the program the most in the nation.

 Wideout Keithon Redding committed to Tennessee.

 Defensive back Antonio Crawford verbally pledged to Georgia Tech.

7/21 Recruiting Roundup

One of the top 2013 running backs, Altee Tenpenny, has picked up offers from Alabama and Auburn but is staying grounded.

A mid-July Minnesota recruiting update.

Derrick Henry's commitment to Georgia is surprising to all, even his high-school coach.

Michigan State commit Tyler O'Connor is one of the players in the Elite 11.

Mississippi State's Dan Mullen spoke out about recruiting services.

Commitments:

Wide receiver Amba Etta-Tawo committed to Maryland.

Nice pick up for Missouri in offensive lineman Simon Goines.

Offensive lineman Chester Brown is a big body for Georgia.

Dan Mullen is happy with where Mississippi State recruiting is at.

A list of visitors for Michigan's annual Big House BBQ with plenty of top recruits.

- Brady Hoke and staff have put together a great recruiting class despite not coaching a game at Michigan.

Georgia recruiting is something to consider when looking at Mark Richt's future.

- One of Richt's latest recruits, quarterback Brice Ramsey, has yet to start in high school.

 Several players are in line for, or are hoping for, offers from Arkansas.

Georgia Tech offered offensive lineman Will Adams at their camp.
