You may or may not know but the Sacramento Kings are considering relocating. There original relocation deadline was today, March 1, 2011. But the NBA moved the deadline back to April 18. The Kings thought there fans were so encouraging the #6 is retired in honor of there "6th man" (there fans). But they dont have enough fans to stay where they are? That makes me laugh. There were rumors of them relocating to Anaheim, which is only 30 minutes away from the Lakers and the Clippers! If you’re not going to have fans in Sacramento, why would you expect to have fans in Anaheim? Do you think you will drive fans away from the Lakers and Clippers? I think it would be stupid for them to move within California.
Another place they are considering is Louisville, KY where I am from. I think Louisville could have a good chance at landing the Kings. Louisville has a new state of the art arena. The KFC Yum Center holds 22,000 and is sold out for Louisville Cardinals basketball games, which takes me to the next point. Kentucky has a demand for basketball. It is a basketball state. The enthusiasm about Kentucky and Louisville basketball and the team spirit are at high levels. If every game is sold out, why wouldn’t they be able to sell tickets to NBA games? There are also fans in Louisville because there are three local favorites on the team, Francisco Garcia (played at Louisville), DeMarcus Cousins (played for Kentucky), and Tyreke Evans (played for Memphis). The people here in Kentucky want the Kings and have showed there pride by creating a logo and a Facebook page encouraging the Kings to come to Louisville. Oh yeah and over 8,000 people have liked the 2 groups.
