How to play:

It's simple, really. Look at the sports-related pictures above, and give us your funniest caption for any or all of them. You can write as many captions for each as you would like.

The challenge runs daily, Monday-Thursday. Each day's competition will usually be posted by noon ET, and will usually end around 11 p.m. ET. On Monday and Wednesday, Community member ktopp24 will be the judge. On Tuesday and Thursday, I'll run the show. If one of the judges decide that your caption is the funniest or most clever submitted for that picture, it will be declared a winner.

Winning captions will be announced when that day's challenge ends. There will be one winner for each picture, and also one winner for the person who can string together the 5 best captions all with the same theme.

You will be awarded one point for each winning caption that you post. You will see a running tally on the scoreboard, which will be posted at the beginning and end of each day. At the end of each month a champion is declared, and we shower that user in praise and adulation! We add his screenname to the Wall-O-Fame, and then we start everyone's score back at zero.

Come on in!

Hi, I'm Shuless Joe. You may already know me from such threads as The best of baseball and Monday Night Football: Vikings vs. Bears. Starting today, you will also be able to find my thoughts, ideas and feelings here, as a brand new CBSsports.com blog!

I'm not sure how much time I'll have to keep this updated, but I'm hoping to get up at least one sizable post a week.

I know that, for many of you, these blogs will offer an escape from the more structured environment of the message boards, but for me, sports is still the name of the game. Or, is it games? In any case, sports are what I like. That's why I work here.

Baseball and football are particularly high on my list, but I wouldn't be surprised if these ramblings take me everywhere from bowling, to horse racing, to lawn darts. Hey, we all know lawn darts were awesome, but a few dumb kids had to ruin it for all of us. Kids now are soft, because they can pretty well avoid the natural selection process of playing outside with real metal death-trap toys. You know, the fun kind.

Man, I guess I've already strayed from sports. Now I have the mental image of Dan Aykroyd on Saturday Night Live, pitching "Bag o' Glass" as a children's toy.

This is tough. Maybe I'll start my postings with sports, and then just see where it takes me.

If you want to read and comment, feel free. If you don't, well, there should be plenty of other blogs to choose from.

Seriously though, this one will be the best.

- Joe
