well, here are some thoughts about last nights game after a good nights rest and some guitar playing to soothe the pain!
The Raptors seemed to have no answer for Tayshaun Prince who had 27 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. He was a bother to the front court off the double team and was a pest on the perimeter. He plays the game some feel Jamario Moon would be capable of playing should he ever become a consistant scoring threat! Prince was allowed to shoot over screens all night long and if you pressured him off the screen he took it to the whole as the weak side rotation broke down way too much to contain such a superb athlete.
Rasheed Wallace was able to get into Jermaine O'Neal's head and stayed there the whole game! he pestered him off the ball continuously so when he did get the ball, he was pretty much brain mush to play! 11 points and 12 rebounds were enough to be the difference and his Magic pass to i think Walter Herrmann was a pleasure to watch. i am not sure why he is seldom mentioned as a top level all-star contender!
The Pistons guard situation has suddenly become very much a top rotation in the east! last night Rodney Stuckey showed himself as a top 10 guard in this league! when Allen Iverson plays, Stuckey will get less minutes but with Richard Hamilton sharing minutes with both, this back court will outplay most teams most nights.
Amir Johnson is an adequate replacement for Antonio McDyess and with Jason Maxiell giving solid minutes, this Piston team is easily 10 players deep again this year! Chauncey Billups brought it every night! i know AI will also and he will add scoring to a team that is already averaging 100 points every game! I think the Celtics and the Cavaliers and the Magic and the Hawks will find out what we did last night! this is a very solid, balanced team! they won't be outplayed at any one position by any team - even Kobe Bryant and the Lakers!

as for my Raptors, Chris Bosh was playing very much alone last night in the front court! he had little room to move yet still scored 26 and grabbed 13 boards while JO could only score 8. Andrea Bargnani looked good adding 12 points and 4 rebounds but looked out of place on defense as he could not seem to adjust to the correct man in the rotation and gave up too many easy buckets as guys ran past him! Jose Calderon played a solid game scoring 24 and adding 8 assists. it is tough to keep passing to guys who don't want to work at getting open! Jason Kapono was a non-factor and he needed to step in and open the floor with some outside pressure but he was covered all night by a team that knows how to rotate to the perimeter. i can't think of too many times the Raptors had wide open looks off a pass in the offense! Will Solomon played well, but i think they kept him in too long in the second and i think it cost us the game as the Pistons went up by 16 and we could never recover. we came close, but we couldn't get there.
overall, we rebounded the ball okay defensively but gave up 10 offensive boards and were -4 on that stat. losing by 3 baskets, we see how critical those were. we were also -4 in turnovers! against a team like the Pistons, ball control is critical! hopefully we can learn how much 1 turnover and 1 rebound can be and move on. as i stated before the game, a #4 ranking was a bit premature. i still think this team has a lot of work to do before they can compete night in and night out with the top 5 teams in the league, but they are getting closer!
