What is the Best NASCAR Cup Series Track? Final

Ok, time for the finals. Which is the best track? I have a pretty good idea of what the outcome will be, but then again I have been a bit surprised at some of the results thus far. For those who may have missed them I included a recap of the previous rounds

What is the Best NASCAR Cup Series Track? Round 3

Time for the next round, can Talladega beat Bristol, and will Richmond lose to Darlington? Who moves onto the final round, it's up to you to decide, and unlike other online elections, Frady can't cheat the system.

Non-Geographically Associated Group 1

#1 Bristol vs.#2 Talladega

Non-Geographically Associated Group 2

#3 Richmond vs. #4 Darlington

What is the Best NASCAR Cup Series Track? Round 2

Ok, I'm a day late with this. When I set the original deadline for 8 a.m. yesterday, I forgot I was going to Sesame Place with the family. Nobody voted after that time so it doesn't matter. Here are the results from the first round. No upsets in the first round, and not surprisingly, the #1 seeds shutout their opponents. Indy vs Infineon was the closest, personally I like Infineon better, but I'm not surprised that Indy wone.

Non-Geographically Associated Group 1

#1 Bristol (20) vs. #8 Phoenix (0)
#2 Talladega (19) vs #7 Auto Club Speedway (1)
#3 Indianapolis (11) vs. #6 Infineon Raceway (9)
#4 Martinsville (15) vs #5 Las Vegas Motor Speedway (5)

Non-Geographically Associated Group 2

#1 Daytona  (20) vs. #8 Kansas Speedway (0)
#2 Atlanta (16) vs #7 Homestead-Miami Speedway (4)
#3  Richmond (14) vs. #6 Dover (6)
#4  Darlington (12) vs #5 Lowe's (8)

So now we go onto Round 2. I think the matchups in this round will be a little harder to choose. Once again I won't vote, that way if there is a tie, I will cast a vote to break the tie. Polls close at 8 a.m. next Monday,.

Non-Geographically Associated Group 1

#1 Bristol  vs.#4 Martinsville
#2 Talladega  vs #3 Indianapolis

Non-Geographically Associated Group 2

#1 Daytona   vs. #4 Darlington
#2 Atlanta vs #3 Richmond

What is the Best NASCAR Cup Series Track?

Well it is way past March Madness time of year, but that is when this idea originally came to me. Being the great procrastinator that I am, I finally got around to creating this little blog. Instead of a field of 64, I came up with a field of 16. it was the only way I could get the grid to work out correctly. Anyway, I listed all of the tracks, and ranked them from 1-8, so that I could have two divisions. I am going to set it up similar to the NFL playoffs, the highest seed will play the lowest seed in each round, so if a #8 upsets a #1 seed, then the #2 seed (if it wins) will face the #8 seed.

Vote for your favorite tracks, voting is open until Monday morning at 8 a.m. After that I will create a new blog with the results, and we will start another week of voting. If there is a tie in the number of votes, I will cast my vote to decide who moves on, otherwise, I won't be voting in the contest.

Here is the seeding I came up with

East Non-Geographically Associated Group 1

1. Bristol
2. Talladega
3. Indianapolis Motor Speedway
4. Martinsville Speedway
5. Las Vegas Motor Speedway
6. Infineon Raceway
7. Auto Club Speedway
8. Phoenix International Speedway

West Non-Geographically Associated Group 2

1. Daytona International Speedway
2. Atlanta Motor Speedway
3. Richmond International Raceway
4. Darlington Raceway
5. Lowe's Motor Speedway
6. Dover International Speedway
7. Homestead-Miami Speedway
8. Kansas Speedway

Non-Geographically Associated Group 1

#1 Bristol vs. #8 Phoenix
#2 Talladega vs #7 Auto Club Speedway
#3 Indianapolis vs. #6 Infineon Raceway
#4 Martinsville vs #5 Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Non-Geographically Associated Group 2

#1 Daytona  vs. #8 Kansas Speedway
#2 Atlanta vs #7 Homestead-Miami Speedway
#3  Richmond vs. #6 Dover
#4  Darlingtonvs #5 Lowe's
