Hey music lovers,

Got any instrumentals that you are particularly fond of?  They can be classical (i.e., Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, etc), swing/big band, soundtrack (like John Williams' Indiana Jones or Star Wars themes), disco (like The Hustle), or anything with no or almost no words.  A couple of my faves:

A Fifth Of Beethoven-Walter Murphy and the Big Apple Band (Mr. Murphy also does music for The Family Guy)

Frankenstein-Edgar Winter Group

What are yours?

Hey Rose City fans.  Less than a month to go for the draft and I am stoked.  Some would say I shouldn't be stoked when we're getting the 13th pick, but Pritchard is a fantastic GM with an eye for talent.  I think he will find a way to move up in the draft and trade picks with a team that doesn't really need their pick, plus help solve our logjam at PG.  I've seen some mocks that have us taking Rose, but the SF vacancy isn't as glaring as our needs at the 1.  I say SF in the 2nd, if we have any 2nd rounders left from trading up.  Travis currently deserves the starting nod at SF.

So who do you guys think we'll grab, and what will we do with him, if anything?

This blog may not be for the squeamish.. the most disgusting, frightening, life-threating sports injuries will be the current topic.  Describe the event, if you like, in gory detail either from watching it as it happened on tv or from being present at the sporting venue at which it took place.  Or from watching a clip of it on YouTube or something.  Truly nasty events like Zednik's skate in the neck, or Kermit Washington vs. Rudy Tomjanovich (hint: Kermit won).  You can use those examples if you like (they are admittedly juicy) or if you can think of others.  Let the carnage fly!

"NAME THAT MOVIE" Dialogue game!

Hey movie lovers!  To play this game, simply quote (through text) choice dialogue from a movie, then sit back and wait for someone else to jump in and try to guess the flick.  If 30 MINUTES has passed and no one gets it, then you can reveal it and either present new movie dialogue or let someone else post theirs.  Simple rules, yes?  Then let's begin!  I'll show an example.

Snakes.. why did it have to be snakes?

Duh.. Raiders of the Lost Ark.

If it doesn't give away the movie, you could help the guessing audience by putting in the names of the characters speaking.  But in the above case...

Indiana Jones: Snakes.. why did it have to be snakes?

That would be too damn easy.

Well, at any rate, I'll leave it to your discretion.  Make it as easy or hard as you want it to be.

Someone else may begin at any time.

All right Bills fans.. do you feel we did good in the draft?  Did we oversee glaring needs?  Did we pick the right guys for the right positions?  Sound off!

I would give us a B for this year.  We didn't address all the needs in the correct order, I feel.  But the guys we picked up definitely show a lot of promise.

In keeping with the last blog about really funny movies, now let's post the dialogue that made these movies so memorable.  Like:

Ted Striker: "Surely you can't be serious."

Dr. Rumack: "I am serious.  And don't call me Shirley."

What movies have you watched that made you laugh till you cried, just about wet your pants, or gave you pains from cracking up?  They don't even have to be really good movies, they can have certain parts that gave you the silly fits.  Some I liked:

Hot Shots

some parts of Amazon Women On The Moon

Kentucky Fried Movie

Some parts of The Groove Tube

The Jerk

Some parts of There's Something About Mary

This is a great topic to chat around a campfire with friends while inebriated.  Try it, you'll like it!

All right, karaoke fans... what songs do you usually do for karaoke night (be it in public, or on your karaoke machine at home)?

I don't really have particular favorites.. I do so many different ones that I just like to go for variety.

Tho' I do like "Epic" by Faith No More, "She's A Lady" by Tom Jones, "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" by Jim Croce and "On The Dark Side" by John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band, to name a few.
