Video notes for the pitching planner

-- The top three ranked players in Rotisserie rankings through Wednesday on CBSSports.com are Zack Greinke, Dan Haren and Johan Santana... Chad Billingsley is No. 5 and Yovani Gallardo is No. 7. Emack, I thought you said pitching isn't as important as hitting in Roto?!
-- The Tigers are having a revival this year. Even Justin Verlander pitched well his last time out.
-- Street closing again already? Emack, you're a genius!

Change of the week:
Phil Hughes for Chien-Ming Wang. We could have gone with Street again, but Hughes was just so darn dominant, he could cause more changes for the Yankees... which are...

Must-start two-start pitcher
Francisco Liriano MIN (0-4, 6.04)
(05/04) @ DET Edwin Jackson
(05/09) vs. SEA Felix Hernandez
95 percent owned 60 percent starting

Must-sit two-start pitcher
Paul Maholm PIT
(05/04) vs. MIL Yovani Gallardo
(05/09) @ NYM Livan Hernandez
80 percent owned 56 percent starting

Two-start sleepers
Sean Marshall CHC
(05/05) vs. SF Jonathan O. Sanchez
(05/10) @ MIL Jeff Suppan
42 percent owned 27 percent starting

Doug Davis ARI
(05/04) @ LA Eric Stults
(05/09) vs. WAS Scott Olsen
33 percent owned 20 percent starting

Who's hot and Who's not

We are doing a weekly video every Monday of the season, a Who's hot and Who's not. Here is what we will be talking about.

The Hot List:

Evan Longoria

Miguel Cabrera

Emilio Bonifacio

Josh Johnson

Adam Lind

Honorable mentions: Brandon Inge, Marco Scutaro, Nick Swisher, Troy Tulowitzki, Kosuke Fukudome

The Not List:

Cliff Lee

Tim Lincecum

Brandon Webb

Cole Hamels

Jason Motte

We open with the struggling Cy Young award winners and talk generally about how the Hot List is all hitters and the Not List is all pitchers (your struggling hitters will come around).

Opening Day observations

Add 'em

Jeff Francoeur -- A great talent who is due for a big year, Nick Markakis-style.

Jeremy Hermida -- A great talent who is due for a big year, Nick Markakis-style. That is no misprint. This Georgia outfield trio will forever be connected.

Hank Blalock -- He is in his prime, finally healthy and motivated to earn a big free-agent contract. Many, many good reasons to add him in all leagues. Versatile with 3B/1B eligibility and in a great lineup and hitter's park.

Adam Lind -- When everyone was looking at rookie Travis Snyder, the player who has taken three years to hit stride is in the one that has the huge opening day. He can really swing the bat. We called him the next Aubrey Huff, and opening day really showed that.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia -- Taylor Teagarden was the darling down the stretch last year, but Salty is the Rangers' everyday catcher and the one to have in all leagues. He has top five potential and should be owned and active in all leagues.

Emilio Bonifacio -- His speed was always known, but the next Chone Figgins now has everyday duty. He is going to steal a ton more bases than we projected for him, perhaps as many as 60. Start in him all Rotisserie leagues right now, regardless of his slap hitting.

Watch 'em

Ryan Franklin and Jason Motte -- Manager Tony La Russa never had complete confidence in the hard-throwing but raw converted catcher Motte to name him the closer. "We are going to use whoever is available, but I would believe that Motte is going to get a chance to close games," La Russa said, unofficially naming Motte the closer. Then Motte goes out and blows a 2-run lead on opening day against the Pirates -- THE FREAKING PIRATES! Clearly, Motte is not ready for prime time -- and Chris Perez is struggling back in minor league camp -- so add Franklin in all leagues you need saves. The veteran is a far more steady option for La Russa, something I felt all along. Motte is a setup man to me.
