Video notes for the Hitting Planner

-- Banged up start outfielders: Grady Sizemore, Josh Hamilton and Carlos Quentin ... what's the deal?!
-- Returning from the DL: Pat Burrell and Jason Bartlett
-- Every team in baseball plays six games as interleague is in full swing. That reduces the decision-making some.
-- NL teams with full-time DHs: MIL, ARI, HOU,
-- AL teams without the DH for the whole week: CHW, TB, OAK

AL start 'em/sit 'em
DH start -- David Ortiz, he has been showing more life of late and the Red Sox play six home games.
DH sit -- Jim Thome, the White Sox are in two NL parks and won't have use of the DH
C start -- Miguel Olivo, streaky hitter is scorching right now and getting full-time at-bats with John Buck on the DL.
C sit -- Mike Napoli, he has been struggling and has lost the DH at-bats to Vladdy anyway
1B start -- Miguel Cabrera, his numbers haven't been bad enough to sit him in any league still.
1B sit -- Paul Konerko, has a thumb injury that will affect him and he might sit to get Thome some at-bats at 1B with no DH in play.
2B start -- Jose Lopez, he has had a market correction in June and has been one of the best 2Bs in baseball this month.
2B sit -- Howie Kendrick, his mystifying failures are reaching an all-time low. Might Sean Rodriguez become intriguing?
3B start -- Joe Crede, he is streaky and finally proving healthy and capable of going on a tear
3B sit -- Gordon Beckham, he finally got his first hit out of the way, but clearly he is not yet ready for Fantasy prime time.
SS start -- Jason Bartlett, should be able to return from the DL, barring setbacks on rehab stint
SS sit -- Marco Scutaro, surprising shortstop of the year has cooled off slowly, but a real deep slump should be coming.
OF start -- Marcus Thames, Tigers DH might play some OF at St. Louis, but he has come off the DL nicely.
OF sit -- Hideki Matsui, he has struggled of late and Yankees are on the road and also face a lefty at home, so Matsui will sit some games.

NL start 'em/sit 'em
C start -- Geovany Soto, he is finally showing signs of life and like should be active in all leagues.
C sit -- John Baker, he is banged up and struggling mightily of late. Time to sit him in mixed leagues.
1B start -- Mark Reynolds, the D-Backs have the DH full-time, so we don't see the 30-40 homer threat sitting any games.
1B sit -- Jorge Cantu, streaky veteran has battled dizziness and his numbers haven't been impressive of late.
2B start -- Ian Stewart, he is streaky, but intriguing enough to start in all deeper leagues through thick and thin now.
2B sit -- Felipe Lopez, after a decent start as a D-Back, he has been awful in June and shouldn't be active in mixed leagues.
3B start -- Mat Gamel, Brewers slugging prospect will get full-time DH at-bats
3B sit -- Garrett Atkins, the Rockies are giving him less at-bats now with Ian Stewart taking off.
SS start -- Clint Barmes, his career revival and current torrid stretch makes him a must-start in all leagues.
SS sit -- J.J. Hardy, notoriously streaky slugger is stuck in a massive slump and can be sat in all mixed leagues.
OF start -- Andrew McCutchen, prospect has hit the ground running, literally. Start in him in all Rotisserie leagues.
OF sit -- Gary Sheffield, he is hobbled and losing at-bats against right-handers. And Mets don't have DH to help over the weekend

-- Our weekly check on Chien-Ming Wang and Phil Hughes ... and what it means for Joba Chamberlain owners.
-- Ryan Madson closing for Brad Lidge ... C.J. Wilson closing for Frank Francisco
-- Tommy Hanson arrived to poor returns ... who are the next potential wave of contributors in the minors among pitchers. (Clay Buchholz, Chris Tillman, Neftali Feliz, Madison Bumgarner and Michael Bowden).

(06/15) @ SF Barry Zito
