Protesting the changes blog

This Blog is for all members to sign to show cBS that you disagree with the changes from this past month.  cBS states they made these changes because the majority of the people were complaining.  Well, if you disagree with the changes just add a comment,  copy the list and add your name.  Evently the list will be so long that cBS will have to recognize they made a mistake.  Oh, by the way don't complain too much they will lower your rating too.

CBS we as members of the message boards are voicing our disagreements with the recent changes.

Electioni Day! No More Political Threads!

First of all let me say I have been as gulity as anyone in expressing my view on the upcoming election on these boards.  But I will admit it will be nice to see November 4th come and go and the boards can get back to talking just sports, music and entertainment.

I saw some very passionate post on both sides, Those that I agreed with and those that I disagree with, but we were able to express those thought because we live in the greatest country in the world.

But I don't want this post to be a campaign blog for any canidate, and I will remove those that do use this as a political thread.  What I want is to hear if anyone is like I am; getting tired of all the political stuff and ready to look at the threads and see nothing but sports, music and entertainment.  Religion and Politics gone by the wayside.

Again, I have been as guilty as anyone in expressing my opinions, and still might between now and the elections, and I'm sure we will see a few thread about how so and so cheated to win, no matter who the victor, but lets hope those threads are kept at a minimum and we can get back to what we all love and the reason we all come here SPORTS.

Last I want to thank CBSSportsline for allowing us to view our political thoughts without interference as this is a sports forum and they could have very easily taken down all thread concerning this upcoming election.

CBS does pay Free Fantasy Winners

Last season I played Fantasy Hockey for the very first time and luckly I played here at CBS.  The league I joined was a free league and when I read the rules I noticed that it stated all the Free League Champions name would be put into a hopper and one name would be drawn for a $5,000.00 Grand Prize.  Well, I was fortunate enough to win my league and about 3 weeks ago I was notified that I had won the $5,000.00.

Well I could hardly believe my luck but I was emailed the paperwork, which I filled out and sent back, certified of course, and yesterday I received the Check.

So I would like to say thank you to CBS and their sponsors for putting up, and paying out the money to the lucky winner of the drawing.

Hopefully, someone else will be in line for their winnings.

The one thing I don't understand from CBS is why they don't post the winners of the Drawings to show that the sponsors and CBS are proud of their fantasy leagues.

Oh, and what do I plan on doing with the Money?  I have my eye on a Samsung 55" HD LCD, with a 2,000,000:1 Contrast ratio so I can watch the NFL on CBS (did you like that CBS?)

If you have won in the past let everyone know, to me it's something to be proud of.

The Bitch, Gripe and Complaint Blog

I know everyone on this board gets to the point where they want to get something off of their chest.  So here it is, The spot where you can complain about anything in the sports world,  Whether its you don't think your team gets enough TV coverage, or you don't like a particular trade.  The fans of a team gets on your nerves.  Your team isn't playing well, etc.  A spot where you can vent without worrying about what others really think about what you say.

Since this is my blog, I do have some rules that must be followed or I will delete your blog.

1.  We must all agree to disagree - If you don't like what someone wrote then respond about what they wrote, not about the poster.

2.  Keep it as clean as possible - No F-bombs, F*ck you's, or anything like that

3.  No name calling - Again, I cannot stress that this is not a place for you to get into a pissing contest with another poster.  If you disagree about what they say about your team, them respond to defend your team.  Everyone is entitled to their opinion.  Simple Jib-Jabs to posters are ok.

So you see there are not many rules, but I would like for this Blog to be a place to get things off ones chest about sports not about each other.  Have fun with it. And let the blogs begin.

Cheap Trick, Heart, Journey Tour

Cheap Trick, Heart and Journey were in Raleigh last night, and I got a chance to go see them.  The following is my take on the concert.

Cheap Trick opened the show and they were pretty good. I'm not a big Cheap Trick fan and don't know much of their music. However, when they did "I WANT YOU TO WANT ME"  They were good and also I didn't think they did to bad with Surrender.  The one thing, to me, that was annoying was after every song they had to let you know they were "Cheap Trick" as if we didn't know.  Again, they were alright but they really didn't do anything to get the crowd riled up.

Next was Heart, and man did they not still the show.  Ann Wilson can still blow.  Her vocals are still powerful and although they changed up the instrumentation a little on their hits they didn't lose their meaning nor the rhythm.  The crowd, who a lot were basically there to see Journey, really got into this show and you could see all around the amphitheater people stopping what they were doing and getting into the music.  It was like most of the crowd forgot what songs Heart had actually done.  By the time Ann started to sing "ALONE" and 'NANCY' started singing "THESE DREAMS" Heart had captured the hearts of the crowd and the place was really rocking.  When they left the stage after a great rendition of 'BARRACUDA' the crowd called for 5 minutes for an encore. Then they caught everyone off guard when they opened their encore with a resounding cover of "GOING TO CALIFORNIA" by Led Zeppelin.  Ann did a marvelous job.  Again after their encore we were yelling and screaming for about 5 minutes, even with the crew on stage moveing equipment into place for Journey people were still hollaring for more heart.

Next the headliners "Journey" hit the stage.  And man did they blow it.  Not because they were bad, they weren't but because they totally lost the crowd by playing songs no one or very few people knew.  Whoever, made up their itineary really blew it.  This isn't the first time these groups have played together this summer,  they have been on tour all summer and you would think right now they would have learned.  If Journey had come out with "WHEEL IN THE SKY" or "SEPERATE WAYS (WORLDS APART)" and they could have captured the crowd and kept the freenzy going.  But instead they decide to play a lot of stuff off of their new album and also the on big thing that really bothered me and the individuals I went with, it was like they were trying to shed what made them famous and that was the POWER BALLADS.

Now lets talk about their new voice, Arnel Pineda.  Arnel has a voice that is very, very similar to Steve Perry,  In fact if one closed their eyes on some of the ballads like "OPEN ARMS" it would be hard to really tell them apart, aside from maybe a couple of notes.  Now I know Steve Perry has a fantastic voice and it is hard to match such a voice but Arnel did a great job.  Arnel, does have some problems.  You can tell he was a nightclub singer because he concentrated on the first 3 rows and you had over 20,000 people there so he hasn't learned to get the whole audience involved.  Second, I thought he jumped around way too much.  I even told my friend he must have  popped 10 uppers before coming on stage.

Do I recommend going to this concert if they appear near you?  You bet I do,  Heart alone is worth the price of the ticket.  If your a Cheap Trick fan I don't think you will be disappointed. and if you can get by the first 7 songs with Journey and wait until they start kicking in with their oldies then again I don't think you will be disappointed.  So if you get a chance to see this tour then by all means do what you can to go see it.  It was about 3 1/2 hours of music and with the stage changes you it will last about 4 hours.

IF YOU'VE SEEN THIS TOUR PLEASE LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS.  If you've seen a great Concert this year let others know so they may be able to see it, if they come to thier town.

To see if they are going to be in your area soon here is the link to the tour.

I thought the Blogs were for the guest of .......

The CBS Message boards, not the writers of CBS.

Has anyone ever noticed that as soon as a member of CBS post a blog it automatically jumps to the top of the Blog board?  Now I don't mind the Writers at CBS posting blogs but they need a space of their own. There are good blogs out there that no one sees because they don't move to the top of the community page.  It just seems to me that if CBS and their writers want our feedback then they can have a Writers blog section on the Community Home Page and allow the members to have their own blog space too.

What are your thoughts on the writers controlling the Home Page when they post a new blog?

Are You a Fantasy Junky?

Last season I was talked into joining a Fantasy Football league for the first time.  Well, I had never thought much of Fantasy anything, but what the heck it was a way to keep in touch with friends on the Racing Boards and gave us a chance for a little competition.  So what happened?

Well, I joined 2 leagues and then Hockey season started.  Well, Being a Hockey fan I joined 2 more leagues and it was fun watching football and hockey games while having the laptop open and seeing how I was doing.  Then I started to really manage my team,  I started looking at the free agent lists almost daily, checking the transaction listings to see if someone may have dropped a player I was willing to have on my team or replace an injured player.  Then the trades, I wanted to make trades and would listen to any offer.  Not necessarly complete a trade but willing to listen and maybe tweak it to where we both agreed.

Now as a NASCAR fan when January rolled around and racing season was ready to start gearing up here comes more fantasy leagues. I got into one on Yahoo, CBS, 5 on ESPN, 1 on Fox, 1 on our local Fox Station, and 2 on  Well, you'd think that be enough for anyone but wait, Baseball, and I love Baseball.

So I joined 2 baseball leagues here on CBS and once again I get to pick up and release players, make trades and I have the laptop open for the games that come on MLB Extra Innings keeping track of how my team is doing, do I have a chance etc.  My wife thinks I'm crazy but what the heck I am enjoying myself.

Now Football season is gearing up and the leagues are forming.  Right now I'm in 4 leagues and getting my Draft Order ready.  I cannot wait for Draft day so I can see who I have, and whose got who so I can make possible trades for players I want.

Oh, by the way, I was the regular season champion in one of my football leagues, lost in the first round, Won one of the Hockey League championships, and am doing ok in autoracing and Baseball.  Those seasons still have a long way to go so you never know I may get another championship before it's over.

I know myself and a few others feel like we should start a Fantasy League Anonymous for those of us who have become junkies. So let everyone know are you a Fantasy League Junky?  IF so how did you get started and how many leagues do you play in?
