Source: New Mexico's Hobson to stay in NBA Draft

New Mexico junior Darington Hobson will remain in the NBA Draft, a source told CBSSports.com on Friday.

A formal announcement should come this weekend.

Hobson averaged 15.9 points and 9.3 rebounds while leading the Lobos to 30 wins and the second round of the NCAA tournament this season. The 6-foot-7 wing was the Mountain West Conference Player of the Year. He's projected by most to be selected at the bottom of the first round or top of the second round.

The deadline for underclassmen to withdraw from the NBA Draft is Saturday.

Hobson will play Saturday with 'sprained' wrist

New Mexico standout Darington Hobson is expected to play Saturday against Washington despite a wrist injury, a source close to the program told CBSSports.com on Friday.

The source described the wrist as "severely sprained."

But there is no fracture.

So Hobson will be cleared to play provided he can play through the pain.

A junior college transfer, Hobson injured his left wrist during Thursday's win over Montana, but still finished with 11 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. He's averaging 16 points, 9.3 rebounds and 4.6 assists this season. He was the Mountain West Conference Player of the Year.
