Clip of little Tiger dunking on a bigger Tiger

Phil Pressey and Tony Mitchell will be teammates at Missouri next season.

But that's next season.

This weekend they were on opposing teams in a high school all-star game in Texas, which was unfortunate for Mitchell because Pressey dunked on him pretty hard, then talked about it afterward. Click this link to check it out. And remember that Pressey is 5-8, and that Mitchell is 6-7.

Pressey commits to Missouri

Phil Pressey committed to Missouri on Sunday.

So that means one of my favorite players from the Class of 2010 will play for Mike Anderson.

Sure, there are better prospects in the class, better point guards even. But over the past two summers I don't think I've enjoyed watching anybody as much as I've enjoyed watching Pressey, whom Scout.com ranks as the nation's 33rd-best prospect. He's a little-bitty point guard -- a pest on the defensive end, a brilliant passer on the other. I've seen him take over games, bring two observers named LeBron James and Chris Paul out of their seats. And I was so blown away by Pressey two summers ago that I wrote a whole column about him.

You can click this link to check it out.

And Missouri fans, man, you're going to enjoy this dude.

Henry, Orton highlight Nike team headed to Brazil

Nine high school basketball players left the United States today for Brazil, where they will compete against some of the top teams from South America on a Nike-sponsored trip. The Americans will visit three cities and play four games before returning next Saturday.

Here's a list of the participants:

(College situation is in parenthesis)

  • Avery Bradley (uncommitted)
  • Jamal Coombs-McDaniel (committed to Connecticut)
  • Keith Gallon (uncommitted)
  • Xavier Henry (uncommitted)
  • Milton Jennings (committed to Clemson)
  • Tommy Mason-Griffin (committed to Oklahoma)
  • Alex Oriakhi (committed to Connecticut)
  • Daniel Orton (uncommitted)
  • Phil Pressey (uncommitted)

Two of those players -- Jennings and Pressey -- were subjects of columns at CBSSports.com this week.

You can read those here and here.

Pressey is the only Class of 2010 prospect competing.

Everybody else is from the Class of 2009.

Also worth noting is that the group will be joined on the trip by Brazilian Anderson Varejao of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
