There is a report out of the Los Angeles area this morning suggesting Jamie Dixon remains an option at USC.
Obviously, I was surprised by this report because it contradicts everything that's been written.
But just to be safe, I reached out to a source close to Dixon and asked about it.
I was hit with the following response:
"He is not going there," the source said. "Not happening."
So there you have it.
Relax, Pitt fans.

Reggie Theus is interviewing for the head coaching job at USC today, and if all goes well industry sources told CBSSports.com that an offer could be tendered in the subsequent days, if not sooner.
And it makes sense, really.
Theus is familiar with the west coast and Los Angeles specifically, and he used to recruit the area while he was an assistant at Louisville and then the head coach at New Mexico State. His NBA background is also a bonus because kids dig that kind of stuff, and his solid relationship with the influential Pump brothers -- L.A.-based twins Dana and David Pump -- can only help. So unless Theus' candidacy takes a hit that turns USC away -- worth noting is that sources believe that's precisely what happened at Arizona earlier this year -- then there's a better than good chance that Theus will replace Tim Floyd on a permanent basis now that Pittsburgh's Jamie Dixon rejected USC's overture.
Theus was 41-33 in two seasons at New Mexico State.
He made one NCAA tournament.
