Bib's College Football Pick 'em 3: Week 3

Alright here's how this works. I'll come up with 12 games of interest every week for you all to choose from. You'll pick the winners and post them here or on the thread, whether you post them here or not, I will add them to the blog to make them easy to keep up with. I try to pick games between teams in the top 25, or in the other's recieving votes but then I move to teams with winning records then .500 records, and all teams are FBS.

Anybody is welcome to join in at any time, dont worry about missing a week if you decide to join late.

Good Luck!

*Friday*

California at Nevada Nevada: 52-31

*Saturday*

Georgia Tech at   North Carolina Georgia Tech: 30-24

Maryland at #21 West Virginia West Virginia: 31-17

East Carolina at Virginia Tech Virginia Tech: 49-27

Air Force at #7 Oklahoma Oklahoma: 27-24

Clemson at #16 Auburn Auburn: 27-24 OT

Notre Dame at Michigan State Michigan State: 34-31 OT

#12 Arknasas at Georgia Arkansas: 31-24

BYU at Florida State Florida State: 34-10

#6 Texas at Texas Tech Texas: 24-14

Fresno State at Utah State Fresno State: 41-24

#9 Iowa at #24 Arizona Arizona: 34-27

My Picks: 8-4

Man, I did NOT play around picking the games this week huh? lol This is a tough one for me. I always want to pick the upsets. This game has the #1 defense in the land (so far) vs. the #1 offense in the land (so far). Now Cal didnt exactly play any offensive juggernauts, and Nevada didnt play any defensive ones so it gets tricky. Nevada is home- thats one up for them. Aggh, the fact that Im writing this much means Im having a hard time picking. question is can Colin Kaepernick go all Vince Young on Cal, at home? I say yes. I cant wait for this game. We'll know a lot more about both of them afterward. Didnt see a Nevada blowout coming. Nevada better than I thought or Cal worse than I thought?

So am I gonna start off with two losses? lol I sure hope not. I really want to pull for the Heels. I mean, gtech lost to Kansas, who loss to NDState lol. NC also gets their starting RB back, they're still missing 3 safeties but the last time I checked G tech didnt exactly throw the ball. Alright here's my loss. got the other right obviously. 2 close losses for this depleted UNC team. Imagine if they were full strength .  ..

gotta take WV here. I dont trust maryland's offense at all. Guess this was a free win for everybody

Upset #3. I think Im commiting pick em suicide (pickecide?) East Carolina's offense is ridiculous. VT's looks bad . . . choosing a lot of games based on offense so far. Well it started off like ECU was gonna run them out of the stadium but apparently Va Tech woke up at some point.

another tough one for me. I know Air Force can score and that OK's D cant stop them much, I also know that Oklahoma can score, and Air Force's D... you get the point. Aggh. Taking Oklahoma ONLY because they're home. Now watch Air force win . . . Close final here. Im thinking OK didnt expected to be pushed by Utah state and air force when they looked at their schedule.

Alright so in my eyes Auburn is overrated and Clemson Im still not sure about. In the grand scheme of things at the end of the year a Clemson "upset" wont really be one. Wait, why am I thinking??? Auburn it is. Beat Clemsux! lol (alright really though, this is a toss-up for me) Watched the game with Clemson fans. Never seen emotions change so quickly in a room lol. My friend left before the second kick went up. Just knew it was going to be a miss. lol

Eeeeeeeeeeeverybody's on Notre Dame. Why? should be a good game. im taking state mostly to be contrarian. Their run game is 11th in the country though. a nice plus OT Michigan state win? I'll take it.

Cant take Georgia after last week. I'll take Arkansas. Not sure Georgia can score with them. After this game Im a little bit more confident in my gamecocks' chances against this team.

I think BYU is the better team. buuuuut the traveling across the country thing doesnt work often. gotta go with the Noles here. Though I hear they're having trouble with ticket sales. ouch . . . hmmm, perhaps BYU is worse than I thought

Texas' offense hasnt been great the first two games. Im used to them posting 50s against cupcakes. Tech's D is garbage though. I think Tech can win. I didnt pick them, and I think this is going to be one of those upset weekends (and Im just picking the wrong ones) so a Texas Tech win wouldnt surprise me. Tech gave them 7 free points but came back to tie it at 14. Texas is def. not as good as  we're used to.

Watching this Cinci game now. Cinci not looking so hot. Fresno beat them but didnt BEAT them so I think Im safe going with a Utah State team with a great running back. At home. Game was close for a while then Fresno pulled away in the 4th. What do you know. Fresno is good again

Iowa D vs. Arizona offense. this is another upset I think could easily happen but am not picking therefore it likely will. Im not impressed with what Foles has done thus far though. Think he'd need to have a big game for them to take this one. It was hard watching Iowa come all the way back but miss the EP to take the lead and then let Arizona drive right back down the field for the win.

Colorado at California California: 52-7

NC State at Central Florida NC State: 28-21

My Picks: 8-4

Anybody shocked that I'm picking my team? No? alright. Well I look at it like this. We've gone to the wire with them the past two years only to lose it at the end. We have a veteran quarterback to their inexperienced one and then AJ Green went and decided to sell his jersey. What an idiot. While we do now have an offense, i say the defense forces some turnovers which will be the difference in the game. Cool Put a hat on that smiley and it was me at the game lol. Marcus Lattimore is fun to watch. Feels good having a running game . . . Garcia scared me with the fumble but it didnt kill us. cupcake next week so I can relax a little.

Everybody is going to pick G tech more than likely but i put this game on here because there's no way Kansas is going to be that bad again. 3 points against who was it ND state? lol. idk. I like the bounceback potential here. GTech will probably dominate though. Wink Did I get it wrong? yes. Did I say I liked the bounceback potential? yes. I put some games on here that a lot probably didnt think twice about. needed one to come out for me. this one did lol.

Utah State is one of those sleeper type teams and all but uh . . . i dont think anybody was impressed with what Oklahoma did last week. Florida State meanwhile rolled in the way a big boy is supposed to so I like their chances of going in and beating an Oklahoma team that lost a lot more than Sam Bradford last year. Undecided So I guess the Oklahoma from last week was a fluke? They kinda handled Florida State here . . .

I really didnt watch any of the UCLA- KState game last week and i should have. I think last year I watched at least 4 possesions of every game that wasnt on while I was at or watching the SC game. Im sure UCLA is at least halfway decent but I know Stanford is. Def. gonna watch this one and wish luck to my boy Luck lolSmile Hmmm, blowout lol.

Seeing as how I took Connecticut against Michigan and Michigan handled them. meanwhile Notre Dame didnt exactly own Purdue (shocked at all the love for them thus far) I'm going to take Michigan. One of the better games on the slate this week. Smile Well that paid off for me. I guess the Notre Dame love wasnt unwarranted though. close game.

Besided the SC-Georgia game of course, this game is the one im the most excited for. Both teams scored 45 last week (and probably could have scored more. Ohio State is home but I really dont care. Gonna call my first real upset of the year here. Boise gets promoted . . . Miami's defense is just a little nastier, I think that'll be the difference here. Undecided Guess I should have looked at the QB's and not the defenses. Jacorry Harris threw the game away. 4int's??? unacceptable. bad part is they only lost by 12 despite the picks . . . just something to think about.

I hate when I put upset special type games on here but dont know anything about either team. I didnt watch their games. I assumed Tennessee would suck this year but when you hang a 50 spot on someone and shut them out that's hard to ignore. So i put this game on here for it's upset potential but Im not jumping out on that branch with no clue what either team can do . . . Smile So yeah. That's kinda what i expect/was hoping for.

True freshman QB versus #1 defending champs? lol sorry . . . the matchup is fun to look at with the two teams but Im not betting against saban here . . . maybe later down the road Money mouth (gonna put my money where my mouth is) Smile So yeah. bama took care of business.

Yes. I was hurting for games. the first couple of weeks are always the hardest to pick. need at least two weeks to know what a team is about. aaaaand of course there arent a ton of big boys looking to battle other big boys out there. so that combined with the fact that Im well aware of the proliferation of this Idaho offense are why this game got on here. You know what (didnt pick yet) Im taking Idaho. F it. lol Enderle going home. Im confused as to how Nebraska is #8 anyway. i dont think the Vandals can stop the huskers from running. but if Idaho can get on top, and scare the huskers, that'll throw the huskers off and thats when mistakes happen. I say this game is closer than most are expecting. may be an idaho loss but i expect at least a battle from them . . . Undecided Im not sure how the game went late. guess Idaho put some points on the board later in the game to save face for me a little. This one didnt pay off for me last time i pick an upset just to pick an upset. I kinda use the blog as an upset watch when there arent a lot of good games. next week looks better though.

I dont know if I'll ever pick colorado. I just dont know what to make of them... ever. How about this Pac-12 showdown though huh? lol Surprised Yeah, welcome to the Pac 10 colorado. lol

Air Force is one of my favorite underdogs as all of you know. BYU is down. Air Force's offense is not. They're home. I say they finally jump on the cougs . . . Wink Told ya they'd jump on em . Hey, and BYU lost by more than Idaho so there lol.

this game was originally cut but i see i made the right decision in bringing it back. Looks like it's the most split game this week as far as the picks are going. Im taking the wolfpack though. UCF played South dakota in their warm up. probably not a beneficial matchup. should have talked to 24k about this one . . . Smile I have nothing to say about this game. A win though. On a side note. WTF Va tech???

*Sunday*

Tulsa at East Carolina East Carolina: 51-49

*Monday*

#3 Boise State at #10 Virginia Tech Boise State: 33-30

My Picks: 11-1

I was going to go with Pitt until I realized they have a new QB. both have solid running games, Utah wasnt exactly stellar at the QB position last year but should be better this year. It also helps that they're at home. I expect Pitt to try to be safe and stay on the ground but if they get behind and the kid has to throw it wont be a good thing . . . Tongue out An OT thriller. awesome way to start the year

Quite frankly both defenses are terrible and I dont expect that to change much. Gabbert though is more experienced now whereas Illinois will be replacing Juice williams (finally) so again, Im gonna pick against the unknown. Cool aaaand it worked out. Illinois had me nervous at the half up 10 but Mizzou came through.

Colorado state was one of my favorite teams to put in the pick em last year looking for an upset that eventually happened lol. Cant pick them here though. while colorado doesnt quite have the offense, I think they'll find a way to get it done another way. I do expect a close game though Smile I'll assume noone is shocked by this. Colorado did what the big boy is supposed to.

last year i was looking for reasons to pick against Notre Dame, and I found them in most cases. Gonna do the opposite this year lol. They did lose a lot but with Kelley coming in the offense should rebound well enough. I say Notre dame comes out slow in the first half but really gets it going in the second and pull out a win. Smile they didnt necessarily come out slow but they win in a grinder.

Gonna take the huskies. The only thing I know about this game is that Connecticut has a great running back. Michigan is unsure at QB and their D was terrible the last time I checked. Undecided My lack of knowledge bit me here . . .

Im going to take Kentucky in this one. Defense getting it done. Tongue out My boy T Wyndham was all over the backfield! lol proud of him...

Gonna take my first new quarterback. these teams are pretty evenly matched so Im taking the home field advantage for the win. Money mouth Ha, worked out for me. Home field was probably the difference.

I think people have been blinded by Jake Locker . . . he doesnt play defense. Smile Got the W but Washington did have a shot at the win. I expected at least a two score BYU victory. We'll see where both of these teams go from here . . .

Well, as of this pick noone has taken the Beavers. I knew this but as i was going through i didnt realize which game i was on until i had decided on the horned frogs. oh well. TCU it is. Undecided Smile Well I got the win but so did everybody else lol. A little closer than im guessing most thought huh?

* (before suspensions)   Alright this was the first game I looked at when picking the games and just knew who i was picking. no research at all for this one. Just based on what i remember from the past few years LSU has been consistently bad on O and decent on D while NC has been improving on O and good on D. UNC's D will likely force turnovers to decide this one

So I picked UNC originally but due to the suspensions of 3/4 of their D line, and 2 of their top corners. I, unfortunately, have to back out from that pick now . . . If UNC wins I'll be glad thoughUndecided It's a win but UNC was a pass interference call away from probably winning the game. (yes it was interference) but the TE still could have caught it but didnt. I expect UNC to either be in the 25 still or at least be just on the outside

New QB for ECU, New coordinators for Tulsa. dont know what to expect from tulsa. started hot last year. then fell apart. Surprised Wooooooooow!!! What a game, what a fourth quarter, what a finish! That was fun from start to finish (side note: the WR Harris had a huge second half and got me a win in my college fantasy league. 121 yards 2 tds. won by 1 point lol)

I like both teams. I just think itd be very easy for the hokie players to play to Moore and not the broncos as a whole. should be a good game though Cool Another great game. Boise came out strong, Vtech came back and took the lead. but Boise stayed poised. and this completes my best week ever (i believe) Thats how you start people!!!

College Bball Pick 'em: Round 1 and Bowl Pick em

Alright so here's how this is going to go.

I'll come up with 12 games every week. I'll have them up on Monday or Tuesday of each week. I'll only try to use teams from Major conferences or small conference teams that have a shot at being in the NCAA tourney, and I'll only choose games that are to be played on Friday - Sunday.

You'll pick the winners and post them here or on the GB10 thread, PM them to me, just get them to me. Whether you post them here or not, I will add them to the blog to make them easy to keep up with.

My thinking is that keeping up with the regular season will enhance your brackets come March.

as for the bowl pick 'em just submit your bowl picks before the game starts and you're good.

Good Luck!

I'm taking the Gaels in today's game, they've both been tested but St. Mary's has fared better in those tests, defeating the ducks and losing by just 2 to the commodores. Pacific was meanwhile handled by Cal. They've also both played San Jose State, St. Marys won, Pacific lost, neither game was a blowout though so this should be a 10 point or lower St. Mary's win

15, 10. Tomato, Tomoto lol

Im not picking against my heels right now, Roy will find a way

He didnt

Duke has been sick this year. I'm actually afraid of them. I guess they start hot every year but this year I think they may be a real contender

That wasnt even close

When is the Butler coach going to get a big-time job? the man gets it done. This is a solid well-rounded team. They wont lose at home

controversial finish, I agree with the ruling though

I think I'm going to take the Aztecs. this was a tough team last year and they should have gotten tougher. Meanwhile State is dealing with the loss of Harden and should have trouble in what should be a tough game.

3 point loss, almost called another one

somebody said something about not being a good coach just because your daddy was and used Knight as an example . . . looks like he's getting it done to me . . .

ah, I wanted to take wichita . . .

Sorry Bama, I havent seen K state play yet this year but I think they can come down and get it done. two athletic teams, should get physical, fouls may become a factor

Wildcats dont disappoint

I was at the game wednesday when richmond gave my boys a hard time in the first half . . . they're capable of the upset

and they got it, funny thing. They led my gamecocks 32-24 at the half in the game we won, and they trailed 24-32 and then came back to win in this one

I know nothing about either of these teams and did not do research for these picks to see what would happen. Im taking northwestern simply for the fact that they're at home

Northwestern got the W, alright

Washington is guard heavy but should be much deeper than portland and therefore get it done

Wow, Portland didnt get off the bus lol

I'm not picking against my boy Dino Gaudio. go Wake

Wake got em, NC state hasnt done much in a while

ACC basketball? gotta have a few upsets . . . however minor they may be

and there it is, OT game right?

after doing the research UCF is capable of pulling this off . . . I just dont see it happening

Same with UCF, Wyoming is capable, Fresno is better. but at the same time Wyoming is probably more pumped about this . . . regardless Im not picking against the obviously better team

Southern Miss has a solid offense, I know little to nothing about their opponent

A Sports Major's Final Exam Essay . . .

I took a class this semester called "Trends and Issues in Sports and Entertainment"

Throughout the course of the semester we discussed many issues in all sports and forms of entertainment.

From social networking to steroids, from ticket scalping to coaches salaries we hit just about everything.

For our final, the professor asked us to choose one of the following:

College Sports, Professional Sports, or Live Entertainment (the clothed variety) and write an essay about its biggest issue.

Our only guidlines as far as length being:

"I want your essay like I want a woman's skirt. Long enough to cover the crucial areas, but short enough to keep my interest."

I chose College Football, and then I wrote this . . .

Coach Bib 13   ( no real names here lol)

Final Exam

Question 1: What is the biggest issue concerning college sports?

I thought about this question long and hard. I could have gone with athletes being paid but I don’t think that’s really that big of an issue. They get scholarship money and I don’t think there are many people out there besides the athletes who think they should be paid. One issue that everyone has an opinion on, and I’m sure you will get plenty of essays about this, is the college football bowl system vs. a playoff.

Why do I think this is the most important issue? You can walk into any sports bar in the country and toss that question out and a heated debate will ensue that could go on for hours. Most fans think that there should be a playoff, most players think that there should be a playoff, most coaches think that there should be a playoff (the ones that are in the championship vs. usually care a little less that year but otherwise they want one too). Some say they want a playoff but they aren’t sure if it would work, or how it would work. Even the President of the United States has come out and stated publicly that he wants a playoff in college football. You would think that with all of the commotion the NCAA would just go in and make a playoff but that’s where the problem lies. It’s all about the money. The NCAA will say it’s reasoning is about the kids but not many are buying that. This is basically an issue of the people vs. the system: A system that appears to be far too political for the aforementioned people.

For those that are for a playoff in college football the reasons are simple. First of all, Division 1 (Big) College football is the only league that does not   have a playoff to decide its champion. Which leads to reason 2. Because there is no playoff after the “chosen” championship game we are all left to decide if we thought the championship was legitimate or if another team should have gotten a shot at the title. These are the only two real arguments for a playoff but two strong points. Why only two? I’d say it’s because it’s common sense to most that a playoff is the way to go. The rest of the arguments for a playoff are rebuttals of arguments against one.

As for arguments against a playoff, and there are many. Some say that a playoff would diminish the importance of the regular season. These people cite the fact that NCAA teams can make the NCAA tournament with upwards of 10 losses, and in the NFL teams that know they’re going to make the playoffs rest their starters at the end of the season when they have nothing to play for. They also state that a playoff would ruin the “tradition” of the bowl games. Others issues that the common man brings up are that travel would be difficult for fans. How would one set up a playoff for major college teams where fans could travel to two or three playoff games? Then there is the argument from the NCAA itself. They also have multiple arguments. One being that a playoff would interfere with exams, the “it’s about the players” argument. Another is that if you opened it up to 4 teams, then people would argue that the 5th should have been in and then it grows to 6 or 8 and so on. This has already happened in Division 1AA.

Personally I’m for a playoff for the reasons stated above. It just makes more sense. I hate politics in sports and this system is political from top to bottom. I shouldn’t be able to say, “follow the money” for a game that is to determine the champion of a college sport. As I type this I’m hoping TCU gets voted ahead of Texas and yesterday I was hoping Texas would lose so I wouldn’t have to.  The argument about the academic side is ridiculous. Are these people saying that finals don’t matter to division 1AA or division 2 or 3 athletes? The argument for the Bowl games is somewhat legitimate but nobody said get rid of the bowl games. The corporate sponsors aren’t going anywhere. You think they don’t want a piece of a playoff game? As for the diminishing of the importance of the regular season this argument is just not well thought out. There are still only 11-12 regular season games. Is Florida tanking last night since they’ll still likely be in the top 8 if they lose? Does Cinci lie down against Pitt because they might? Is Boise resting Kellen Moore yesterday because they have the game in the bag, well I guess they did anyway didn’t they. If there is a playoff every game will still mean just as much if not more. If teams are fighting for 8 spots and not just 2 then when they get that 1 loss they still have a reason to believe they have a shot at the title and therefore reason to keep fighting week in and week out for the prize. The best argument against one is that it would open up the floodgates and for that I propose this. Today is selection Sunday for the college bowl games. If there were a committee this committee could sit down every year this time and decide if they agree that #1 and #2 should play for a title, or if there should be a 3-8 team playoff. Today everyone would be glued to their televisions to find out if TCU and Cinci would get to play Texas or Bama and decide who goes on to play for the title. I know I would. If there isn’t a set number then there won’t be as big a debate. This year I don’t think anyone would argue that there are more than 5 teams that have a claim to the title game. So I’d expect the committee to come out and say that there will be a 4-team playoff with the four I just mentioned or a 5 team playoff that would include Boise . All I want is for that to be decided on the field, and not at a desk.

Obviously I wrote this Sunday

any opinions?

Bib's College Pick 'em 2: Round 14

Alright here's how this is going to go.

Good Luck!

College Basketball pick em starting next week!!! and of course the bowl pick em!!! I'll create a bowl pool too

This week's games:

(Rankings Reflect BCS rankings)

*Thursday*

#16 Oregon State at #7 Oregon 33-37

*Friday*

Ohio (9-3) at Central Michigan (10-2) 10-20

*Saturday*

#21 Houston at East Carolina (8-4) 32-38

#23 West Virginia (7-3) at Rutgers (8-3) 24-21

#19 California at Washington (4-7) 10-42

#10 Georgia Tech at Clemson (8-4) 39-34

South Florida (7-4) at Connecticut (6-5) 27-29

Wisconsin (8-3) at Hawaii (6-6) 51-10

Arizona (7-4) at #18 USC 21-17

#1 Florida at #2 Alabama 13-32

#5   Cincinatti at #15 Pittsburgh 45-44

#3 Texas at #22 Nebraska 13-12

My Picks :  5-7

This should be a hell of a game . . . I may have to try to find it on ESPN360 tonight while I'm working. It's a safe bet that both teams will be in or near the 40's. I think I just want Oregon to win. this is a tough one to call. both teams are hot right now. I would love to see a Oregon-Boise rematch if at all possible. I haven't looked at the bowl scenarios

And oregon wins . . . great coaching job up there. A lot of teams would have fallen apart after what happened to them the first game of the season. My own school being one of them.

Had to dig a little deeper for my research on this one. both teams like to throw the ball. Lefevour actually has more carries and rushing yards than any Ohio running back. Lefevour breaks Pennington's MAC touchdown passes record and gets the W

What's up with these championship games being tough to call? lol Alright the natural pick here is Houston, they're the one with the Heisman candidate here right? but after comparing the teams this is another game that is a toss up in my eyes. Houston is more likely to win big but if Pinkney and Holtz dont get sucked into trying to outdo Keenum they should be right there in this game. Ironically I think this game comes down to defense. whoever forces turnovers will win the game. with pinkney's td/i ration being 1.3/1 I cant pick him in this one

Im kinda wondering why everybody picked WV. I guess they did just come off of a win against Pitt but otherwise both teams are 8-3. Rutgers has the bad loss to Syracuse, both lost to Cinci, but WV lost to USF who Rutgers shut out 31-0. So for me this is another toss up . . . give me the knights

Alright I see no good reason to pick Washington here . . . sure the Huskies upset USC and Arizona somehow but otherwise they were who we thought they were. Cal has only lost to the big boys in the conference, USC and the two Oregon schools. they should take care of business here.

I started to do research but who am I kidding, I want Georgia tech to win because if Clemson wins I'm going to start asking where my school's BCS berth is . . .

ah Connecticut . . . winners of two in a row. Im glad for them. but how about this stat. Their defense before jasper howard's death didnt allow a team more than 25 and that 25 was in his last game. since his death they haven't allowed BELOW 28. They're hemeradging (definitely spelled wrong lol, I'm not going back) points. They're on an uptick though and USF has just been horrible in conference play so give me the Huskies.

Yeah Im taking Hawaii. Why not? they've won 4 straight, they're offense has found a rhythm, Wisconsin has proven to be a bad road team (despite only having 4 road games). Not to mention Wisconsin has been in Hawaii since wednesday lol, something has gone down or they'll just be too relaxed come gametime

Oh how the mighty have fallen. This should be a good game. People are still somehow disillusioned about USC being the Pac 10 powerhouse that they arent this year. they're just a good team in a conference with a few good teams. Arizona being one of those teams. I expect a good game. Arizona had two tough losses in a row followed by a close win against AZ state which i thought was going to push me to the Trojans but then i realized SC also had a close one with the Devils a couple weeks ago. lol I'll take the trojans just because I need to stop picking against them.

alright both teams have their weaknesses and although I prayed for losses for both of them I didnt get them. Bama is all about their D and Florida claims to be balanced. The way I see it. my gamecocks held Florida to 24 "but you all held bama to 20 and spotted them 7 of them." we also scored 2 actual touchdowns against Florida. Something that DID NOT  happen against the Tide. I've actually grown tired of Tebow, Roll Tide . . .

Three close calls in a row for Cinci . . . that defense that wasnt supposed to be good at the start of the year. hasnt been good at the end here. Pitt however has not exactly been rolling people themselves HOWEVA! (as stephen a. smith would say) Pitt has a D, and Pitt has a sick freshman RB. Go Panthers, give me an upset baby!!!

Sorry Colt, I stopped caring about your college career a couple weeks ago as well, still want you to get the heisman (if gerhart doesnt) but I couldnt care less about your national title. Go Horned Frogs!!!

This week's games:

(Rankings Reflect BCS rankings)

*Friday*

Temple (9-2) at Ohio (8-3) 17-35

#2 Alabama at Auburn (7-4) 26-21

#9 Pittsburgh at West Virginia (7-3) 16-19

Nevada (8-3) at #6 Boise St. 33-44

*Saturday*

#12 Oklahoma St. at Oklahoma (6-5) 0-27

#17 Miami at South Florida (7-3) 31-10

Tennessee (6-5) at Kentucky (7-4) 30-24

Notre Dame (6-5) at Stanford (7-4) 38-45

Southern Miss (7-4) at East Carolina (7-4) 20-25

#21 Utah at #19 BYU 23-26

Arkansas (7-4) at #15 LSU 30-33

Georgia (6-5) at #7 Georgia Tech 30-24

My Picks :  6-6

This team has won 9 straight after losing to Villanova (who I didnt even know had a football team) and Penn St. They're coming off of 56 and 47 point games in their last 2 and offensively appear to have much more.

I'd love to pick Auburn but they've been pretty inconsistent. Thier offense was good for a while and then it was iffy. Bama is the team I think I want to win the title actually . . . wait, no. TCU is lol I think i need Nebraska to beat Texas . . . which has nothing to do with this game. Bama is easily the better team I guess

Pitt is probably the quietest top 10 team in the history of top 10 teams, I've heard nothing about them anywhere. NC State loss is just weird when you put it with the great wins they have. They wont lose focus this close to the prize

This is another one of those toss-up games. Nevada's offense seems to have gotten better and better as the season has gone along and they're the better offensive team, but of course Boise is the better defensive team. A Nevada win wouldnt surprise me but I'd need Boise to be coming off a bad performance to pick them to lose at home.

cant pick Oklahoma here. they get down Jones will start throwing picks. Senior day and all for the sooners but its too late for them to recover anything . . . rough end to a long season for the Sooners

going to be a lot of athleticism on the field in this one. South Florida seems to have just fallen apart down the stretch . . . not that Miami has been great themselves but USF has seriously declined

Sorry T. Wyndham I've got to go with the Vols. I picked Kentucky over Georgia but Kentucky hasnt beatten anybody with any type of defense.

are you kidding me? I'm not picking against my boys Gerhart and Luck

Southern Miss doesnt turn the ball over. 22 TD's vs 3 picks by the two QB's. should be a close game. Southern Miss a better offense, ECU a better defense.

This may end up being the toughest call for me . . . wow, Mormon Bowl action here. tough tough tough, I find something that makes me want to go with one and then something that makes me want to go with the other. could go either way. Home team, no I wont take them. picked against BYU last week and was wrong obviously but I'll try my luck betting against them again . . .

Ive never liked this LSU team this year, dont know how they've stayed afloat. Arkansas hit a rough patch in th emiddle of the season but they've gotten it together down the stretch and go out in style.

Im noticing a lack of upsets in my picks . . . Tech isnt invincible
