Picks for 3rd Riound of Play

#4 Kentucky vs. #5 West Virginia

This should be easy. Kentucky has been playing well lately. They won their conference championship, they got by a sneaky Princeton team. Plus their good be some payback in store for WV taking away their Final Four last year.

The Experts Pick:

My Pick:

#2 San Diego State vs. #7 Temple

This should be an interesting matchup. Both in upper mid-majors, so we haven't seen exactly what their capable of. San Diego State's big man are well... to big for Temple to handle.

The Experts Pick:

My Pick:

#3 Connecticut vs. #6 Cincinnati

We've been through this before. Connectiut won at Cincinnati earlier this year.

The Experts Pick:

My Pick:

#12 Richmond vs. #13 Morehead State

A 12 or a 13 seed will be in the Sweet Sixteen.

The Experts Pick:

My Pick:

#1 Pittsburgh vs. #8 Butler

This will be a close game. Hey Butler has Final Four experience... they found some magic Thursday, can they keep the Magic. It will be a good game no doubt.

The Experts Pick:

My Pick:

#2 Florida vs. #7 UCLA

I think that Flordia has a more talented team than UCLA.

The Experts Pick:

My Pick:

#3 BYU vs. #11 Gonzaga

I still don't think BYU is completely in sink. This is a good matchup for Gonzaga.

The Experts Pick:

My Pick:

#4 Wisconsin vs. #5 Kansas State

Wisconsin is always sadly underestimated in the tournament. They are a good good team.

First Four Games

Well, whether you agree with it or not, these 4 teams will be competing to get in the Final Field of 64. VCU, USC, UAB, and Clemson will be competing for those spots.

Here is our first matchup:

The 11 seed out of the Colonial Athletic Conference, VCU:

Virginia Commonwealth - This team has been hated upon for not deserving a spot in the tournament. Those who say that... are wrong. This team has 3 top 50 wins. They had 14 wins in an UNDERRATED conference. They have Old Dominion, George Mason, and VCU. This is a good team and they will be someone to watch.

The 11 seed out of the Pac 10, USC:

Southern California - Two dominant players in the post makes me wonder where this team has been all year. Well, it my be like they have 6 losses OVER the Top 100 in RPI. Pretty much horrific. Want to know why they got in? They have 5 top 50 wins.

Prediction:
USC 76
VCU 67

Now are second matchup:

The 12 seed out of Conference USA:

UAB - Okay, to be completely honest this team DOES NOT deserve to be here. That alone will hurt them... or motivate them. Will they be down because they think they took someones more deserving spot, or will it motivate them to prove themselves? The only decent team they have beaten is VCU.

Clemson - I think their backcourt will be the ultimate downfall for UAB. UAB will simply not be able to match up with Clemson. Clemson has a good control of the tempo. Clemson has better playing experience against better teams. Can they beat somebody? We'll see...

Prediction:
Clemson 56
UAB 41

10 Teams most likely to make it to the Final Four

TOURNAMENT TIME:

1.Pittsburgh - They probably have the easiest road to the Final Four. Nothing against Florida and BYU, but there is no way UF should have been a 2 seed, and BYU has lost a key player. Let's just hope MSU doesn't gobble them up.

2.Duke - UCONN and SDSU are problems, but they don't have as many challenges as Kansas and OSU do. They also have championship experience.

3.Connecticut - Well, they have to get through Duke obviously, but I don't think they will have any problems until the Sweet Sixteen with SDSU.

4.Ohio State - They definately have it harder than the rest of the 1 seeds. But I like all the matchups they may get... except Washington.

5.Kansas - Like I said above definately not the easiest road, but I think their the best team in the field. Notre Dame and Louisville will be aiming for them though.

6.Notre Dame - Right there with Kansas. Really really good team... are we going to have a UofL/Notre Dame rematch? Probably not.

7.San Diego State - This is a good good team, people may doubt them, but they are in a good position.

8.North Carolina - If they can avoid getting upset before Ohio State, they make another run to the Final Four.

9.Florida - Their not good enough to be a 2 seed. But they are good enough to beat the teams in their region.

10.Michigan State SpartansMichigan State - WHATT!!! Yes. Izzo will have his troops ready. They have the easiest region, they can beat those teams in the way. I would not be suprised to see them in the Final Four again.

Final Four Rankings: March 5th

1 Week to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

March 5:

1.Pittsburgh - My pick to win now, and my pick to win at the beginning of the season. Remained consistant the whole year!

2.Ohio State - Probably has the best teamwork in the nation, can Sullinger carry them to a title?

3.Notre Dame - If Duke loses they could be a 1 Seed.

4.Kansas - Great win to hold of Mizzou, don't expect a 2nd round exit this year, but then again, nobody did last year.

5.Duke - If they lose to UNC, they don't move down, but UNC will move up. A win there is as good as a conference championship. IF they win, they'll be 1 or 2.

6.North Carolina - Another Great win!

7.Louisville - Should have won the game against WV, I won't hold it against them. They can beat anyone in the nation if they have a good night.

8.Texas - Let's see if their fall continues. If it does, their gone.

9.Brigham Young - Maybe the New Mexico games were just matchup problems. Now they will have teams underestimating them. This team is still very dangerous.

10.Wisconsin - Jordan Taylor should be Big 10 Player of the Year. WOW. This team is good. They proved they can win on the road. Could this be Bo Ryan's year???

Team to Watch:
San Diego State
Florida
Kentucky
Purdue
St. John's
