Now that the big arms are signed, the Phils need to get down and pick up an inning eatter starter. Penny went today, Lowe is still hanging out on the market.

Could it be that the Phils are actually going to take a shot at Sheets, until one of their young arms is ready?

The Phils did it again with mirrors and help from the Mets. With only two viable pitchers, amazing turn around of the old axiom" pitching wins pennants".

Howard got hot once again down the stretch and actually has people talking MVP about a player with 200 K's  and a B.A. under .260?

Amazing  job  by Charlie, with no stud catcher,  right fielder. His left fielder and second baseman had significant drops after the all star game.

Well the secret is in the bulpen. perhaps one of the best three in all baeball. Lidge is lights out once again, and the set up men hold leads when handed the ball.

At least one win post season with Hamels .

Phillies/ Billy Bean

Coming down the stretch , the Phils lack of aggessiveness is securing a starting pitcher is showing.

They picked up Blanton, who has a "tiried " arm which anyone can see while watches him top out at 92 MPH. Never give away anything tto Billy Bean. While the Cubs faired slightrly better picking up Hardin, once again he is hurt.

Bean continues to stock pile prospects while teams like the Phils continue to get duped

Phils Blow it Again

The fading fighten Phils , not only blew getting a pitcher at the trading deadline, they could have had Matt Holiday, basically even up for Victorino.

We know that that the GM is gone after the year, but for a team that was in contention, looks as if he has taken off a few months early.

Phils Blow it Again

No question, this ownership group is cheap.

They need a srarting pither going into the stretch run. OK, they didn't have the right prospects to get CC.

But look at what Bean took for Harden. Granted he is an injury risk , but wouldn't he look really good in candy stripes right now.

The Phils are going no where if Howard doesn't cut down on his Ks. He is on 200 SO year. If they are going to hold off the resurgent Mets, he needs to start making contact.

To think that in his last year with the Phils, Polanco K'd  only 19 times the whole year.

Phils Blow it

They did it again. Letting  both CC and Hardin get away when both teams need a closer, and the Phils have Myers in the minors trying to make him a sarter again

He was as close to a lock down closer as you could have wanted last year. Myers and another positon player from the minors would have landed either player.

Looks like the Brew Crew pulled the plug . Giving away three stud prospects to rent a pitcher ,who  will be in New York next year.
