Phils Blow it Again

The fading fighten Phils , not only blew getting a pitcher at the trading deadline, they could have had Matt Holiday, basically even up for Victorino.

We know that that the GM is gone after the year, but for a team that was in contention, looks as if he has taken off a few months early.

An Amazing Year

This has been one of the greatest years in sports. Tiger wins a Major on one leg, the Rays are in first place, and now Phelps collects 8 gold metals in China.

Kansas comes back to win the NCAA tournement, Michigan goes down in their first football game of the year to a 1AA team, the Giants beat NE in the Super bowl.

Whay more could a sports fan ask for??

Arena Bowl Soul

The victory parade around the stadium instead on down Board St proves that Arena is still a minor sport in the scope of things.

For a city waitng 25 plus years for a chamionship , only the Devils (NHL) parade around their stadium instead of in the city, expressed  the fans true feelings.

It was a great season , but remains a sport built around cities of 600,000 or less.

Phils Blow it Again

No question, this ownership group is cheap.

They need a srarting pither going into the stretch run. OK, they didn't have the right prospects to get CC.

But look at what Bean took for Harden. Granted he is an injury risk , but wouldn't he look really good in candy stripes right now.

Is Arena Bowl a Minor Sport?

As the Soul move toward giving Philly it's first championship in any sport on close to 30 years, one must question is the AFL can now  be classified as a major sport?

Yes , they have grwon and unlike other start up leagues have thrived in markets, mostly too  small to hav all four major sports.

The players are still for the most part unknown, but the game itself fasicinates.

When you get a two sport town like Baltimore to put up over 400 million to build a new indoor complex in hopes of getting an AFL team I guess the answer has to be yes.

High School Recruiting

Oaks Christian in CA needs a monotor like the NCAA. This year Montana's son,  Gretzky's son,  and Will Smith's son.

This comes behind Jimmy Clauson and Marc Tyler.

Strange all these studs show up at a school  going into only its 8th  year. It really gives all private schools who run clean programs an bad reputation.

What a Year

Hope everyone realizes what we are seeeing this year. Some great stuff maybe even best of all time:

 1. Tiger wins on one foot

 2. Great Wimelton finally, might be best match I have ever seen

 3. Hamilton getting the NY crowd chanting his name, after some monster bombs. Best I have seen, but they need a format change

 4. Kansas all but done by Memphis stages amazing comeback

 5. Giants over the Pats in an amazing upset

WOW

Can't see Manning pulling a Farve

His whole team pulled a Farve when they trucked out of Baltimore. The son of the man who did it still signs Mannings checks.

Sports is about the $ , and if Peyton could get an extra few, he would do the same
