Cream Rises

"Alexander The Great" showed why he is the best in the NHL last night. It took 6 games, but with all on the line he sets the light red twice in the third.

Flyers/ 76 ers

Philly teams going in opposite directions. Once Sixers clinch, back to old habits, stop the pressing, hustling, and fast break, and then go out and mlose 4 in row  setting up a match up  with the Pistons.

Flyers get to playoffs, and turn it up  a few notches. They developed a plan   , stuck to it  and now lead a better team 3-1.

Tha is Philly sports in anut shell for you~~just when you think you know   you find out otherwise

Phillies Third Base

Mitakes , overpaying, bad trades and what does it leave, a huge hole in a great infeild at 3rd.

First management , the fans, WIP Radio  drive Scott Rolen out of town. We getr a great contact hitter .which is ok given the power in the line up , in Polanco in return. He also doesn't SO  like Howard and Burrell  close to 200 times a year. So we let him walk and goes on to lead the AL in hitting, all because we give Bell a ridiculous contract which almost dictates he plays every day.

When the contract is up the Fightens plug the hole for a year, the make a maove for life time 265. hitter in Pedro.

If there is a weakness besides the lack of a quality 4th starter on this team, which will keep it from a repeat, blame management and the way 3rd has been handled.

Philly

Great to see a resurgage of sorts in sports in the city. The 6ers out of no where are going to the playoff. I ask my friends in Baltimore to name a player on the team and they can't. Great testiment to Mo and job he has done this year. Staying with hoops, it looked as if no Big 5 teams where going to dance this year. Three went, when Temple pulled off the A-10 championsip againgst St Joe, and the strongest of the three might have been tha last one in Nova. Why Fran left Penn , I have no clue. Penn replaces him with with a coach with under a .500 record at Brown. Who made that move? my, hoe both Priceton and Penn have declined over the past few years. The Flyers are also back! facing a cap team that has been absent a tad longer, five years. I look for the big O to carry the Caps, and I am not talking about Olllie the Goalie. He is the best player in the league right now, sorry to all of the Sidny fans in Pitt. The Phild still need a pitcher and since they were so cheap ( as usual) and let polanco walk for that pwer hitting third basemen Bell , they have hole there also. Powand walking also leaves a big void. Can;t see then duplicating last year, when the power hitter on the team is trying for 200 Ks a year. We shall wait and see what goes down, but what a pleasure to see all three teans viable at the same time. PS~~~~last thought of the night, Temple will go bowling and Gordon will wind up trying to clean up the once proud program at PSU. <table cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3" width="100%" border="0"> <tbody> <tr class="bg2"> <td valign="middle" align="center"> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table>
