A New NFL Season Of Predictions

So I place these predictions here just for my own purposes to see how right I will be at the end of the season.

So without further ado...

AFC East:

Miami Dolphins (2)
New England Patriots (5)
NY Jets
Buffalo Bills

AFC North:

Pittsburgh Steelers (1)
Baltimore Ravens
Cincinnatti Bengals
Cleveland Browns

AFC South:

Indianapolis Colts (3)
Tennessee Titans (6)
Houston Texans
Jacksonville Jaguars

AFC West:

San Diego Chargers (4)
Kansas City Chiefs
Oakland Raiders
Denver Broncos

Personally, i see each division as a 3 team race, with a terrible team at the bottom of each. I wouldnt be suprised if KC or Oakland dethroned San Diego in the West, but it may be a season early for that. I see Pittsburgh as too solid on both sides of the ball to give up the division to Baltimore, despite the offensive additions they've made. They will sorely miss Ed Reed the first half of the season. Miami is my super sleeper team this year, I think with Chad Henne having a reciever who doesnt drop every pass thrown his way, this team will really click on offense.

AFC Playoffs:

Wild Card:
Indianapolis over Tennessee
New England over San Diego

Miami over Indianapolis
Pittsburgh over New England

AFC Championship:
Pittsburgh over Miami

NFC East:

Dallas Cowboys (2)
Washington Redskins
Philadelphia Eagles
New York Giants

NFC North:

Green Bay Packers (1)
Minnesota Vikings (6)
Detroit Lions
Chicago Bears

NFC South:

New Orleans Saints (3)
Atlanta Falcons (5)
Tampa Bay Bucs
Carolina Panthers

NFC West:

San Francisco 49ers (4)
Arizona Cardinals
Seattle Seahawks
St. Louis Rams

I think Washington, having some stability at qb and Shanny's sound running game, will make a push towards a wild card spot along with Philly and Minnesota. I think Favre is gonna have a hard time replicating last seasons play, and they will ultimately be a 9-7 team. The tightest race this season may be between NO and ATL in the south. I think the Falcons will be solid on both sides of the ball this year and push the Saints for the division. But ultimately, i see the NFC as a 2 horse race between the Pack and Cowboys.

NFC Playoffs:

Wild Card
Atlanta over San Francisco
New Orleans over Minnesota

Green Bay over Atlanta
Dallas over New Orleans

NFC Championship
Green Bay over Dallas (if the game is in Dallas, it goes the other way)

Super Bowl:

Green Bay Packers over Pittsburgh Steelers

MVP- Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay

Offensive POY- Frank Gore, San Francisco
Defensive POY- DeMarcus Ware, Dallas

Offensive ROY- Ryan Mathews, San Diego
Defensive ROY- Earl Thomas, Seattle

Coach of the Year- Tony Sporano, Miami

Pre Free Agency Mock Draft.

First Mock Draft. Will do one after free agency has started, then one probably week before the draft

1. Detroit Lions- Matt Stafford, QB Georgia. Should take the best offensive lineman and build around it, but terrible qb situation and weak qb class makes him too much to pass up. With a little seasoning, should be a very good qb.
2. St. Louis Rams- Michael Crabtree, WR Texas Tech. Tackle is a need, but there are questions about all the top tackle prospects, as well as a deep draft class for offensive lineman. Torry Holt isnt getting younger and Donnie Avery is a number 2 reciever. Crabtree is the best prospect in the draft.
3. Kansas City Chiefs- Brian Orakpo, DE/OLB Texas. KC switch the 3-4 makes Orakpo a prime candidate. Built in the same pass rusher mold as DeMarcus Ware.
4. Seattle Seahawks- Andre Smith, T Alabama. Time to start re-tooling, the offensive line. Walter Jones is 35 and probably doesnt have much left. No viable WR to take at this spot.
5. Cleveland Browns- Chris Wells, RB Ohio State. Jamal Lewis isnt the same player he used to be. Wells is built in the same banger mold Lewis is and will be a hit coming from tOSU.
6. Cincinnati Bengals- Eugene Monroe,  T Virginia. Offensive line was exatly that, offensive. To keep Carson Palmer off his back they should go with the next best o-lineman. Other possibilities include, Jenkins, Brown, Curry.
7. Oakland Raiders- Malcom Jenkins, CB Ohio State. If Asomugha bolts in free agency they take the best cover cb on the board. If he stays, they probably go Maclin or Oher
8. Jacksonville Jaguars- Jeremy Maclin, WR Missouri. Time to get a game changer in the passing game. Once hes in open space he's hard to catch. Great hands and 40 time. Also will help in the return game.
9. Green Bay Packers- Everette Brown, OLB/DE Florida State. Switch to 3-4 brings in necessity for a pass rusher. Kid can play with hand on the ground or standing up. Coverage skills a bit unknown, but should be an all around good pick with Kevin Greene running the linebackers.
10. San Francisco 49ers- Mark Sanchez, QB USC. Unless they are convinced Shaun Hill is the future of the franchise, i see them going with the california kid.
11. Buffalo Bills- Aaron Maybin, DE/OLB Penn State. Lack of pass rush towards the end of the season was a major reason this team slipped out of the playoff race. Can play both positions and will help out fellow Nittany Lion Pousluzny in the linebacking core.
12. Denver Broncos- BJ Raji, DT Boston College. If they switch the 3-4 with Mike Nolan as DC, he's a whole lotta man to fill up the NT position.
13. Washington Redskins- Michael Oher, T Ole Miss. Jansen is 33 cant stay healthy and Samuels is aging at 31. Looking toward the future isnt such a bad idea.
14. New Orleans Saints- Vontae Davis, CB Illinois. They are still terrible in pass coverage and can use a physical cb with exceptional speed.
15. Houston Texans- Aaron Curry, OLB Wake Forest. Continuing to improve the defense in Houston will get this team in the playoff race and quick. Curry is smart and can play either inside or outside lb if needed.
16. San Diego Chargers- Rey Maualuga, LB USC. Instinctive lb that is perfect for the 3-4 defense.
17. New York Jets- Jason Smith, T Baylor. Draft class loaded with good tackles. Taking Smith allows Woody to move back inside and play guard.
18. Chicago Bears- Michael Johnson, DE Georgia Tech. Can never have too many pass rushers, and Chicago loves em.
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Knowshown Moreno, RB Georgia. Dunn is 34, Cadillac tears up knee again, Graham ends season on IR. Id say runningback is a need here. Moreno has the ability to make defenders miss in open space and can run through them if necessary.
20. Detroit Lions- Phil Loadholdt, T Oklahoma. This is where they get their offensive tackle for the next decade. He's big and mean and loves to move anything in his path. Great pass blocker and run blocking isnt too far off either.
21. Philadelphia Eagles- Brian Cushing, LB USC. Another great USC defender comes off the board. Doesn't really wow you with anyo one particular attribute but is a great all around football player.
22. Minnesota Vikings- Tyson Jackson, DE LSU. Pass rusher on the opposite side of Allen, Jackson would be set up for a huge rookie season playing on that d-line loaded with talent.
23. New England Patriots- James Lauranitis, LB Ohio State. Injuries to linebackers all season, Lauranitis makes sense playing inside along Mayo. Probably one of the safest picks in the draft.
24. Atlanta Falcons- Brandon Pettigrew, TE Oklahoma State. Getting Ryan a weapon at tight end like Pettigrew will only make him better. Pettigrew also a good run blocker.
25. Miami Dolphins- Victor Harris, CB Virginia Tech. Physical corner and great in man to man coverage. Has size and speed to stay with the best recievers.
26. Baltimore Ravens- DJ Moore, CB Vanderbilt. Good cover corner for a team that was thin at cornerback at the end of the season.
27. Indianapolis Colts- Duke Robinson, G Oklahoma. They take the best player available and add him to an already solid team.
28. Philadelphia Eagles- LeSean McCoy, RB Pittsburgh. They take a physical back who can carry the load if Westbrook is absent.
29. New York Giants- Kenny Britt, WR Rutgers. This pick could change depending on the Burress situation, but as it is now they take a big wr to replace him and give Eli what he was missing at the end of the season.
30. Tennessee Titans- SenDerrick Marks, DT Auburn. Even if Haynesworth stays they take Marks to beef up the defensive line even more.
31. Arizona Cardinals- Shonn Greene, RB Iowa. I think they reach a little bit, but they get a quality rb that will team up with Hightower to create a nice rb tandem. Rashad Johnson another possibility in this spot i think.
32. Pittsburgh Steelers- Fili Moala, DT USC. Rhe rich get richer. Will fill in nicely rotating with Casey Hampton to keep him fresh. A massive run stopper.

so there it is, the first round the way the teams sit now. like i said after some of the better free agents have signed and switched teams ill make another one. comments and criticism welcome
